I hope this is true!!! I was watching ESPN Pergame show and they said Taylor was in grave condision. Man this back and forth is hard to deal with!

Apparently at 6:30, Sean did squeeze the hand of the doctor upon request and showed facial expressions to the physicians. This was reported just now on ComCast

That could very well be the case, but didn't he squeeze doctor's hands in response to requests to do so? If I recall correctly, Terry couldn't respond to stimuli even though it looked like she was. If ST is indeed responding to requests to squeeze their hands, that is a very, very, very good sign. He's also got to be so drugged up that squeezing a hand in response to a request to do so is significant.

Facial expressions, squeezing of the hands... doesn't sound vegetative to me. All his blood has been replaced... Let's keep in mind how the body goes into shock during trauma. I'm praying VERY hard that he's pulling out of this.

You can still be in a "coma" and do some of these activities. Following directions is the best sign at this point as this implies he has full motor response. Technically speaking, comas are evaluated by eye, verbal, and motor response. As he has some eye response (whether to pain or not is still a question) and that he is apparently following directions is a very good sign. He is going probably intubated so his verbal response will be assumed to be minimum. Adding these together can still deem someone in a "coma".

For those that would like more information--please google "Glasgow coma scale" to learn more--wikipedia does a decent layman's job...

Yeah the Eagles show their true colors again. You know it is really sad that I have to say that it does not surprise me one bit. I would be totally blown away if I went to their site and did not see them celebrating this tragic event. I am praying for Sean and will continue to. My heart goes out to all you Redskin fans.

At times like these Rivalry has to be put aside. I have never wished ill will on any Redskin fans nor players. It is just simply a Rivalry. Nothing more. I enjoy when we beat your team but I hate when anything bad happens to any fans or players. We are all human beings at the end of the day. Unfortunately some fans tend to forget that and go to far and are classless and lack all tact.

I truly feel for each and every one of you. That comes from my Cowboys heart. Forget the Rivalry. I can only imagine how I would feel if it were one of our players like Newman for example. I don't wish that on any of you. At times like these we are all football fans and human beings. Therefore we are all one. I am one of the Administrators over at the Cowboys board. Budlee knows which one. I will tell you that everyone of our members are in support of each and everyone of you.

The a-holes are everywhere. I am sure there are cowboy fans and giants fans that are out there right now having a good laugh at this situation, as I am sure there would be skins fans that would do it to. let me correct that, they are not fans they are dumb asses who root for a team. They think being kind, and showing compassion for other people espcially those of the rival team is a sign of weakness. Well a sign of weakness is not being compassionate not letting your true feelings out. I hate the Cowboys always will, as I would expect them to hate the Redskins but regardless of what color uniform you wear on Sunday this about a human being, a friend, a Son, and most importantly a Father. These type of situations are horrible for anyone to endure and I hope nobody ever has to personally. But if anything can be taken from this tragedy it is not the assholes who took pleasure in it but the people like CowboyzAdam and so many other cowboy, eagles, and giant fans that have shown there support, have said a kind word. It is because of people like you all and the real Redskin fans that make this sport special.

At the time I posted all I had heard was "responsive but unconscious" so I asked someone inclined to know what that meant and they gave the Schiavo analogy.

I hadn't heard then what you had posted, and I'm certainly praying for a full recovery for him.

I was browsing other sites and I even saw Broncos' fans mocking the whole situation. I think one even asked if he was a Crip or a Blood.

Granted, this definitely wasn't all Broncos fans. But you'd think they, of all fans, would be sensitive to this.

Seriously. A few Ravens fans I've talked to here at school were completely sympathetic to the whole thing but like I said earlier, 1 girl said the news was the best thing to happen to her all day. And another guy said that he was brain dead for playing with the Skins in the first place.

I mean come on, a little sensitivity towards a sensitive situation never hurt anyone.

By all accounts of his teammates and coaches, Taylor has been a changed man since the arrival of his daughter prior to last season. Idiots like Colin Cowturd would never allow the public to see that side of Sean. I wish they could all see the interviews Kelli Johnson did with Taylor - they reveal a man who was making strides to be a good teammate on and off the field, and above all, a family man.

She did a great job as a journalist. Really impressive. I understand there was about 20 minutes of total tape and only a couple were shown.

(When you hear Wilbon, etc, don't forget the Skins and the Washington Post have been in a pssing contest ever since the Skins took away a lot of their season tix (Since they were ending up on ebay! This colors everything I read about the skins written in the Post).

That is a little unfair in a sense that not everyone has to come to this board to show there support. There are plenty of ways to show support. It is great that the Cowboy fans have and they should be thanked, but just because eagles fans are not on this board voicing there support does not mean they are not praying or doing whatever they feel is right. it is just a disgrace to for them to be commenting negatively on their boards.

Its not the Kelli Johnson interview, but here are a couple of items from the Redskins.com archive. I think they show a glimpse of a young, intelligent, and supremely talented individual. Wilbon, Cowherd, and all the rest aren't worth the newsprint or the airwaves that they use to spread their vindictive messages.
