Nope. Don't give a damn who he is, no man should make a margarita with Rose's lime. It's bitter, gross, and doesn't even really taste like lime. IMO the only way to add lime juice to a margarita is to muddle fresh limes. Any gimlet or margarita will take a big step up in quality if freshly muddled limes are substituted for Rose's "lime" juice.

A good cocktail is all about the freshness of the ingredients.

Still procrastinating... but yeah... the fresh shit is where it's at.

Plus it's really not that hard to squeeze a lime into something vs. buying the rose's crap. Even having the little lime shaped juice squeeze thing in the frig is a better way to go.

The less artificial sugar shit in any drink the better.

I'm a big fan of some fresh lime juice in a "Hendricks" gin and tonic.

you do the OJ even with cointreau? I've never done that but I've had it with orange bitters in it and that's DAMN good.. I had kind of forgotten about trying it that way until you mentioned the OJ

I was somewhat following until the Rose's.. why not just add a lil simple syrup?

Well, we ended up having a great time. Had a big steak dinner, then headed up to Fells Point. I haven't been there in about 7 or 8 years. Interesting mix of people- young, old, couples, singles, bikers, folks of all kinds of ethnic backgrounds.

We went to Green Turtle and some other hole in the wall bar for a few drinks, then we went to Ritz Cabaret. Now as I said before, I'm not a strip club guy. Last night was the first time in about 5 years that I've been to one. Well, it was a total blast. We got there around 10:45 and stayed until last call at 1:45. The women were for the most part really attractive, and I was surprised with how clean the place was. We paid extra for VIP, so we went upstairs where it was much less crowded, and we were able to get a table. I was surprised at how reasonable the drink prices were. There were a few other guys in club that were doing bachelor parties also. They got sent up on stage and pretty much humiliated by a few of the dancers. Ripped shirts, ripped underwear, etc etc. Needless to say I didn't go that route. Anyway, we all tied one on pretty good, then went for late night pizza and reminisced about back in the day. Up till 5am. A great time with my closest friends. Good stuff.

Sound like a good time. My bachelor party probably be the last time all my "old" friends hang out together again at one time. We are just spread to far across the country now.

Also, if things continue the way they are I probably never see my best man again. He is one of those guys that has had a lot of tough luck in his life and right now I think he just wants to lay low. I have tired calling him, mailing him, emailing him, xbox live, etc.... never responses. I think he just doesn't like catching up, he is board-line if not all the way now alcoholic and he just flat out struggles. I feel bad and like to help him out but he just won't accept any help plus he lives across the country now.

Kind of depressing when I think back to when we were kids. We became friends in the 2nd grade and were basically inseparable growing up. Even through college, we went to different schools but in the same state and that state was RI, really not hard to get lost in that state.

Glad you had an awesome time GM, cherish your BP it is kind of the gateway to your new life. Marriage and than children bring on a lot of new responsibility, all rewarding but lots of work!

I did a bachelor party in AC. well, here goes another OTM story:

A few months after me and my buddies graduated college, one of our buddies was getting married so we went to AC for a weekend. they are from pittsburgh.

We get there, 4 of us. we get kinda daper for the evening. we go to one of the few big casinos there. in a few hours time i had gambled away all my gambling money. no worries, im not a gambler and was there to party.

so me and the bachelor boy (real cheap ass didnt want to gamble) are hanging out drinking at this bar/club in the casino. the other 2 guys are gambling. so me and bachelor boy are puttin em down like champions. well, they start the music playing and people start dancing. if im drunk i cannot resist dancing. the bachelor boy is a real shy quiet guy.

so im dancing looking stupid and theres this real tall hot black girl kinda dancing kinda standing on the outside of the dance floor. i ask her if she wants to dance, we start dancing and im thinking "man, this is great. got my drink on, _____ bachelor party, dancing with this hot chick".

so after a few dances, etc i go over to teh bachelor boy, get another drink and try and get him to come dance and let loose. well, aparently he and some guys who he just met at the bar were laughing their ass off at me. so my buddy whispers to me "you dancin with a dude dude". fuck. my heart drops. i feel sick. i look over at her and yup thats a really tall skinny black dude i was dancing with. fuck. promises that he wouldnt tell anyone were demanded and received.

the bachelor boy wants a hooker which we had seen a bunch of walking up and down the road just parallel to the boardwalk. so me and BB (bachelor boy) go up to some hookers and start talkin. tehy are grabbing our crotches and calling us cops. so, anyway, we dont get any hookers then, i was against it money, morally and health wise. the other 2 meet us at the hotel room and they also want some hookers. ok great, i got a bunch of drunk horny burg boys looking for urban hookers.

so we go, we find some and all of the sudden they want me to talk and set everything up. im not even joining them. anyways, BB picks out the hooker, shes like something like 300 for the 3 of them. i bargain her down to 60 a piece, telling her thats 180 for less than an hour of work.

yada yada yada, the 3 of us have to stand outside on the balcony while BB does his thing. after hes done, im like fuck this im not waiting outside on the balcony locked out im drunk and want to party.

so me and BB leave the otehr 2 and go party. some how i end up by myself at this bar called the grog i believe. anyways it ends up being a prostitute type bar where they kinda come in, chill for a bit then go back out. so i end up sitting there and talking with this real fat hispanic hooker. we talked for hours, i was buying her grand marnier all night. i must have dropped over 200 bucks talking wih a hooker. anyways, i knocked a glass over, it crashes on the floor, i say "i know the drill, im outta here".

i remember walking, i remember falling on my chest. this is about dawn when the early riser tourists start making their way out.

teh next thing i know i wake up on the floor of our hotel room. great, i made it back, i have my wallet, cut and bruised on my chest and popped my shoulder out but nothin out of the ordinary.

then the stories start coming in from my friends. apparently hotel staff was called that morning by people who came out of their room to find me curled up sleeping in front of their door.

but this whole story comes down to this one moment and phrase that kinda typified my early 20's.

we all get in the elevator and head down to the lobby.

the elevator door opens up facing the lobby desk.

the door opens, all i hear from the hotel staff is "thats the guy!".

we laughed our asses off. just that moment of having your college buds wake up from a serious night of drinking, then to have such a reception was just so fitting.

the hotel offered to move us to a different hotel on their dime but i told the BB to tell them i would be on my best behavior.

We had a big time wine distributor at our Bethesda location tonight. We were popping some serious bottles for them. Got to take a few sample bottles home for free. :)

Drinking a $300 (retail) bottle of a French blend right now. Ridiculously good. And it cost me nothing. Rock and roll.
