Are we talking about Michael Vick? Man, it's so past tense now. There's a large population of people over in Japan, China, and Korea eating dogs and cats every single day which is far worse than dog fighting and nobody ever complains about it. I get that people love their pets but as long as it wasn't your dog that was engaged, then why sweat it? Vick has paid his debt to society, rejoined the NFL, and so we move on with life. I can't believe people are still talking about this.
That's not how life works. You know the little box in employment application, where you check if you're a convicted felon? People will judge you for the rest if you're life. Also, isn't it like saying "as long as your family member wasn't killed..."? |

Butchering a animal to eat it is far more humane then torturing one. |

You do realize that Vick wrote a book, and is on a book tour promoting it. |

So after you read about anything in the book, that means you put money in his pocket because you bought his book so I'm sure he doesn't really give two $h!%s. So are you saying that growing up in a high crime poverty stricken area is not a way of life? That's something that one person can change and is not influenced by? That's why our society is crumbling upon itself. Lack of high morals and core values leads to generations perpetuating poor behavior and decision making because they are born and bred in such a society. But i digress… (PS, I in no way condone what Vick did to those dogs) |

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
Some people just don't get it. I mean, I don't even care about the whole, "kids look up to them," thing, it's just the fact they're so damn stupid. I can understand getting in trouble early. You're a young kid making millions, but after so long you need to grow up.
|
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
i think these guys should hire a driver... since half of these problems are traffic related.
the bar fights and assaults though... not as easy. |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
There used to be a free car service for NFL players, then the price became like $80 or some ridiculously low amount for a pro athlete. Then, if I recall, the NFLPA abolished it because they were afraid the info would get back to the team (as if "hey I got really drunk and so I arranged for someone to drive me home" is worse than "hey I got really drunk so I got in Maybach and drove into a tree").
You gotta wonder though how many are stupid and how many are just addicted. Though I don't know how much addiction necessarily has to do with your decision to drive, just your decision of when to stop drinking. |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
I think a lot of these guys are just so full of themselves they think there's no way they'll get caught, or if they do the cop will let them go, which I'm sure happens a lot.

Cops don't usually let them go. Though I did personally see it happen once (was a passenger in the car, player wasn't drunk, just hitting triple digits speed wise). Problem is a lot of other people let them get away with what they want, they probably figure who won't. It's a very different world they live in |

But you would think after the first, second, even THIRD offense where they don't get off the hook the light bulb would come on. I guess the problem is the filament burned out long ago. |
