Judge upholds Connecticut gun control law passed after Newtown shootings

Judge upholds Connecticut gun control law passed after Newtown shootings | Reuters

(Reuters) - A federal judge on Thursday upheld Connecticut's tough gun control law that was passed in the wake of the deadly 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The stringent law is constitutional, said the ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Alfred Covello, denying a legal challenge by a group of gun owners.
The state's gun control measures, among the strictest in the nation, were signed into law four months after a gunman in December 2012 killed 26 children and staff in Newtown, Connecticut.

I went in a Gander Mountain for the first time a week ago as I moved from the West Coast where there are none. I was all excited to see what looked like more ammo that I would normally see in an outdoorsman type store. Of course they had everything but .22's .357's .38's or the 30-30's I was looking for.

And freedom of association, except those deemed politically incorrect or divisive.... And no, neither amendment should be parsed like the butcher job above.

Then read the line: "provided that they (gun owners) register them".

Holy historical revisionism, Batman!

This horseshit makes me angry. There have been numerous textbooks discovered that have re-worded the Amendment to fit the liberals' idea of what it should be.

Parents have to stay on top of their kids' education so much these days, just to re-teach them the truth.

There are bigger problems with how how history is being taught than that. In every major war somehow people think Americans were always the good guys. People believe Americans never did anything bad, even though the US has done more terrible things in its short existence than a lot of other countries have done in millenniums.

I have no problems with guns as long as people are consistent across the board, that includes drugs, speech, and every thing else. People always seem to pick and choose which "rights" should be protected (see Fox News or any major news channel for a prime example).

Her dogs did not stop the intruder. Her home alarm system did not stop the intruder. Not even her “No Trespassing signs” stopped the man who broke into her house. But the moment Lisa Atkin pulled out her handgun the intruder stopped in his tracks.
Then she had to wait 23 minutes for police to arrive at her rural home on that Wednesday morning. So much for the “just call 911 and you will be fine” approach that the anti-gunners want us to take. When seconds count… well, you know the rest.

Which in the video she admits is a very quick response considering how far out she lives from the closest town .

And how 'quick' would it have been if she hasn't been armed? At least they'd got there in time to ID the corpse.

Not really, based on averages 89 people were killed that day in car related fatalities.

I can't decide if you are dense or willfully ignorant when you try to justify your aim with skewed statistical methods.

Here is a graphic of fatalities from guns compared to vehicles. For 100 meaningless points, and no front row season tickets (because I can't afford them like Roddy White can) fill in the blank correctly:

Based on the graphic below, in any year actual data was collected (not projected data), more people were killed by ______?
