Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
How bad of shape can he be in? Not like they are asking him to cover a deep third or provide over the top help on Dez Bryant.
|
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Browner to the Saints.
|
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
last year seemed to be the year to add a good FS under 30 in FA.
Perhaps someone decent will get cut when rosters need to be trimmed. if not, i say we just pocket some money and defer it to next year for added cap. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Per NFL trade rumors:
Update: According to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, free agent DT Terrance Knighton remains in Washington and is still negotiating with the Redskins. As of now, there are reportedly five other teams still in the mix for Knighton. Getlin adds its unlikely a contract gets done between Knighton and any prospective today, and it could be a while before he has an agreement in place. |

Yeah, you're right. My bad. Think he could make the transition? Looks like he would make a good free safety. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
I don't get Pot Roast. Just stay in shape until March 15, man, and you can celebrate your mega-check with all the pot roast you wish.
Instead he costs himself $$$. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
I got carrots, onions and potatos
Maybe a little sage and some Worcestershire sauce. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
It seems like Knighton and his agent are playing several teams at once. It's like they're having an auction. Nice of the Skins to host the auction for them.
Skins must really want him badly to keep him in town and continue to negotiate. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
If Knighton is out of shape, I would proceed with caution. Last thing the Redskins need is another out of shape fat fuck taking their money.

Sounds like they are proceeding with caution on a 1 year deal with Knighton, good job Scot!!

Worked out well for the Skins. Sources say that Knighton will sign with the B&G. |
there's exactly one 1st round graded safety, and then basically nothing until the 3rd... terrible draft if you want a day 1 starter or someone with a good chance to be starting after a year.
there was only one good FA safety this year too. guess that's why the FO is going heavy on DL. maybe we'll get a good safety next year.
I hear you. If its not there, its not there. Dammit. A good safety can change everything. Look at seattle. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Right tackle fans: ESPN ticker sez Carolina's Byron Bell is coming to visit.

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Now hall can move to the 3 spot or even FS. Breeland and Culliver are good starters

there's a rumor Dashon Goldson is going to be released by Tampon Bay! he could help solve our FS.

I would like to see them go after Ron Parker of the chiefs. |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
I love our FA additions so far and here is who i would like to see us get now:
sign: SS...J Johnson and/or Ron Parker FS... id like to see Amerson moved here CB..Cox TE.. Gresham draft: 1st.. OLB 2nd..RT 3rd.. ILB or RG 4th.. ILB or RG 5th.. RB 6th.. WR 7th.. S |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
What's the feeling on Anthony Collins...played for Gruden in cincy and was pretty solid.
|
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
you can't just move any CB to safety and have it work. amerson would be terrible there. hall could do it, except he's TINY. 5'9", sub-200lbs, so you'd probably only get a few weeks before he hurts himself.
j johnson is interesting. he's been behind two very good players, backing up both spots, so he's only probably a garbage starter, with a small chance of being good. (the rest of the field has been verified as meh-terrible). |
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
why is it you think Amerson would be terrible at FS. i do recall many draft experts saying that he would be a better S than CB at the time. He has the size and ballhawking skills to make the transition. Many CBs have done it over the years...why cant Amerson?
|
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Amerson doesn't tackle or cover well at corner, why is he going to do those things any better at safety?
|
Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
because at safety he would be playing more in space and not typically matched up against elite WRs. I would like to think he would be able to cover most RBs, TEs and/or 3rd or 4th WRs. He had a bad year... why i dunno.. but i still have some faith in him.
|

Yeah, John keim mentioned him and said he was absolutely terrible last year. I dunno, but we need a body there...i not opposed to bring in some guys to compete. Sometimes a change of scenery, coaching, and scheme can help |

I still don't understand how he dropped off so hard. Couple years ago he looked like he had some mad potential and then last year it was like he failed to show up at all. |
