Absolutely, as well as the "puffy" face. What is your definition of getting drunk too often?

Well, in all fairness, the first picture was taken indoors with different lighting. The second taken outdoors out in the cold. I know that when I'm out in the cold, my nose and cheeks will turn pink. That being said, there is a definitely big difference in the puffiness of his whole face.

Again, stress of the job, maybe before he allowed himself time to go to the gym, drink more water, and eat a bit healthier. Working with an NFL team, it's a high pressure situation, so he could be eating a lot more, having less time to exercise.

But, still, those two pictures taken just a year a part. Whether the case, he doesn't look very healthy in the second picture.

That's probably about average of folks. If you're abstaining from alcohol the other 5-6 days a week, you're allowing your body a chance to get rid of the toxins. If you're drinking heavily everyday or more days drinking than not, you're going to start to see signs.

You can't base shit on one unflattering picture either. We don't know the context of the bottom pic. Could be balls cold and he's not wearing face protection. People do turn beet red in cold weather, and you can see the guy in back wearing a boggin.

While I do believe he's drinking, that isn't why this shit has gone down. It's about Bruce Allen's ego, but he's willing to let people believe it's because of Scott's drinking.

keep in mind he was brought here to to one thing, be a talent evaluator and ensure the Redskins got a good return on their investments. Then during the most important time of the off season he is at home dealing with "family matters" . . . meaning his drinking problem . . . wouldn't your boss be pissed if that was you?

At the very least he gained a lot of weight. Given his history it's not crazy to put 2 and 2 together. People who drink a lot tend to show it in their face with that bloated/puffy look.

It's likely there are bigger issues in play regarding the power struggle, but his drinking couldn't have helped his cause. That and given the fact the D has been a disaster.

Or he has gained weight watching too much film, I don't know. Anyone saying they know, posting actual proof would be great. A sound bite from McLoughan saying I'm drinking again, anyone?
there are tons of medical conditions too or a reaction to medicine that could cause reactions like this.
Some statins will cause one to have a very flush look. I take meds for my cholesterol, and I used to take Niaspan. Usually about 20 minutes after taking that pill, my whole body would turn beet red, as if I had gotten a really bad sun burn. It would also cause my face to look a bit puffy as well. Of course, after about an hour, the reaction would go away and my skin and face went back to normal, but after passing out a couple times because of the med, I got myself off of it.

That being said, it isn't a med that I would take during the day or first thing in the morning. I would always take it right before I went to bed so I could sleep off the effects.

However, seeing recent pictures and recent video, he's definitely got the "puffy" face on a more consistent nature than in the past. It's possible that he could be on medication that causes that.

Of course it matters! Quit trying to put lipstick on a pig here Matt. Just the image of turmoil might cost us snagging top talent, being relegated to signing more stop gap retreads that just take up roster space. The unprofessional atmosphere will turn people off!!!

Because winning cures everything and people pay attention to drama (even though it is still there).

Let's not forget the Antonio Brown Facebook drama last year with the Steelers for example.

People just want to believe the Redskins are the ONLY team with drama and issues.

Mr. Allen, I never thought this day would come. I have stuck with this team through all of the ups and downs spanning four decades. I am now officially done as a fan and sadly you had a huge hand in this.

You have put your own ego and personal comfort ahead of the needs of the organization. You have meddled in the GM process when you explicitly promised not to and your pettiness has driven the one executive that gave your fan-base any hope from Redskins Park. I sincerely doubt any remotely qualified candidate is eager to fill his shoes. No one will want to deal with you.

Mr. Snyder also shares quite a bit of blame for this unfortunate situation. It is his job to keep you in your lane and he has failed to do so. Frankly, he should fire you but I suspect his friendship with you will prevent that from happening. At least you will have someone to fiddle with while Rome burns. I would wish you well but you are incapable of even knowing what "well is".

Regretfully Yours,

James
Just go back a read my post from the last couple pages...I never said he wasn't having drinks. I was saying his drinking was absolutely not the issue in Redskins park. The article clearly states from multiple people inside the Organization McC drinking was never an issue. If McC drinking was the issue, the article about McC "downfall" as a skins executive would absolutely be about his struggles, addiction, etc. There also would be evidence of issues or events cited. There isn't any.
All we have to go on is Cooley asking loaded questions. I'm with you Chico, this stinks of typical Redskins bullshit. As long as his drinking wasn't interfering with his job, I don't care. We don't have any indication it was. But we do have sources (I think people seem to forget credible outlets, aka ESPN/NFLN, do their proper vetting before releasing stories) saying Allen and McC can't coexist.

mooby 03-09-2017 02:53 PM

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Exactly you can't do either.
Exactly. And when the alternative is credible outlets like ESPN/NLFN reporting that Allen and McC can't coexist I'm more inclined to believe that. Why is it so hard to believe that Allen would be jealous of McC getting most of the credit for rebuilding this team? Is jealousy not a thing that exists in the NFL world?

The guy is an alcoholic who by his own admission never stopped drinking. I would find it nearly impossible to believe that he's clean and sober.

Not saying it played a significant factor in all of this drama, but talking solely on the issue of whether he's drinking or not, I would find it awfully hard to believe that he's not drinking.

Mike Jones just said the other day all he does is watch film AND DRINK. Another WP insider article states that sources say yes he drinks but it's not impacting his work.

I cannot seem to gather the angst I have felt in other dumpster fire years.

I think Gruden will win with Colt. We have other receivers besides Doctson...(13 from last year?)

I am not scared of life without SM as a scout called a GM.

I guess I have more faith in Jay Gruden than SM at this point. I mean Jay is the only guy in 20 years who has done what he sees fit, made it work and not gotten fired for it.

Even in that article on ESPN back a few years when he was out of football he said he still drank lite beer. I mean you are still drinking if its 4 shots of Jack or 10 Coors Lite you are still drinking. I have never heard of or saw a alcohol program that said moderate use is acceptable for an alcoholic.

I am sure right now McC is 2 bottles of Dewar's in right now listening to White Snake's "Here I go Again".

I think this is the sliver of light at the end of the tunnel. (I'm grasping with the rest of you. But I'm DC born and bred and too old to turn in my fan card now.)

Scot M was not destined to be a long timer here -- he would have put away the corkscrew if he intended to make a run at being a legit NFL suit and tie guy.

We need ONE person here who knows football and is trusted by Snyder. If that's Jay, then at least it's not Bruce. And it's one more than we've had thru most of Snyder's tenure.
