Okay no idea if this is "THE" big story or not, but Twitter is going crazy now and people are saying that Dan is expected to be brought up on sex trafficking charges, evidently this could be why he has been spending so much time in Europe lately.

No idea if it is true or not, but if he is facing charges, then i think the NFL should put the team up for sale immediately.
Bezos will likely buy the team, since everyone knows he wants in on the NFL, and the NFL wants to have the connection for potential streaming deal with Amazon.

Also, I don't get people getting all worked up because Bezos is a liberal. Look at the late Paul Allen, he was a liberal and that didn't affect his management of the Seahawks.

As I said, I'm sick of Snyder's shitshow, and I just want new ownership.
At this point we know what Snyder is, a loser who's run this once proud franchise into the ground. The other owners are clearly tired of him. I don't care who the next owner is just get this jackass the F out.

You are right though, we don't know what we'll get from Bezos or any new owner. I would hope that a new owner would learn from Snyder's mistakes, and as I said, I'm so sick of Snyder that I just want someone new.
It really has nothing to do with Bezos being liberal. It's how he runs Amazon. If you're in the corporate offices, from what I've heard over the years it can be a cutthroat environment. Not to mention how the warehouse workers are treated. And at the end of the day for what? Bezos already has more money then he'll ever need for the rest of his life. He could buy the Redskins for 5 billion, and make that amount back in a month. He doesn't need the Redskins, but the NFL wants him in the ownership group so they can cut a deal with Amazon.

They just forced a name change that couldn't be done for decades, they're probably on a power trip right now. Snyder caved and showed be can be bought. They have him by the balls.

The wait for news is excruciating right now...the new name and *THIS* news.

I had that thought earlier but didn't say anything. I really hope not.

The NFL needs a team in the D.C. market. Look how they made sure they got back into L.A. even though it's not really an NFL town, the Lakers and Dodgers rule there.

Where would they even go? San Diego? Oklahoma City? St. Louis? The league would never give up the D.C. market for a smaller city.

Let's cross the Bezos bridge if/when we get to it. If this report is something that could force Snyder out...and if it's bad enough, how quickly might this happen? I mean the season is trying to start...with a ton of complications on it's own....so who takes over the operation if he's not there? There is no GM...and honestly Ron has too much on his plate now. This year has been a disaster already for numerous reasons, but the timing of all this, is just awful.

Apparently, as of last year, Bezos wanted to be an NFL owner:

And if new owners take over, we might change it again!

Whatever happens, I just hope we remain B&G and have SOME resemblance to the Redskins.

The team is already in a prime TV market, so there is zero chance they'd move. And I say that confidently, since the NFL makes most of their money from TV deals.

This is why the Chargers and Rams moved from their small city markets to LA. Even if no one cares about the teams, people in the LA TV market will watch game, and that's more important to owners.

Hell, the DC area TV market is one of the main reasons the Maryland move to the Big 10.

No shit although I think Rivera might be one of the few people who would be right coach to lead this team once this whole stuff ends - Rivera obviously have a strong set of values, which is something the team needs at this point.

I agree, the question is whether he wants to. If Dan lied to him about the state of the franchise when he took over he might want out too.

We were 3-13 and the name change has reportedly been in the works for a while...I think Ron knew what he was walking into.

He's likely one of the few coaches who may be able to turn it around. To me, he's always been a no-nonsense type coach (with the exception of Cam Newton, no one can control that clown).

Somehow our rock bottom keeps getting deeper. We think we hit rock bottom then we hear a excavator in the background rolling towards us only to clear more rocks so we are now more rock bottom.

This franchise what a joke.

I can't even argue with Cowboy, Eagle, or Giant fans that we are any good or on a path to better, it be like defending or voting for Trump at this point.

Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread

This sort of makes me think when all of the stories were coming out that supposedly Bruce was going to imminently be fired. Everyone reported how there was "smoke", blah blah blah. It would get really bad after a humiliating loss, then die down. I remember last year it started around October. Everyone was saying Bruce was going to be fired the next day, and then, nothing. It went on like that for days. Everybody always said "there's too much smoke", but the smoke really did blow over. Bruce wasn't fired until January, over three months from when the "breaking news" first happened.

So i'm saying, there is at least a chance that really horrible, terrible news DOES come out, but it might not be for a little while...
