What an amazing playoff series. Absolutely beautiful (as long as you're team doesn't make it).

I think this playoffs is probably the most exciting series I have ever seen ever since I started watching football years ago. Every game ended in field goal winning or went into overtime. |
Re: The Playoff Thread
Agree best playoff series of games I can recall, when taken as a whole. There have been better individual games, but when considered together as 3 weekends of entertainment, it's been fantastic.
I'm not fussed who wins the SB, though I guess I'll be rooting for the Bengals if forced to choose. Just hope it's as close as the games these last 2 weeks. After all this, we don't need a blowout. |

Why do you hate the 49ers so much? lol. Do you hate the SF Giants and Warriors too? A good friend of mine from HS lives out in San Mateo and says the same thing, that 49 fans are just unbearable. I hope to get out to Half Moon Bay one day for some golf. |
Re: The Playoff Thread
SF has a huge following, fans all over the nation. I've got a couple friends that love them but they are not assholes.. Maybe it's just different in other places

Re: The Playoff Thread
The Chiefs basically lost the game at the end of the half. You simply have to take the 3 points at the end of the half. You had 5 seconds there and you run a play? Why?? The Bengals went to the locker room w/ the momentum down by 11..lol.

Yeah that was sloppy, really surprised they didn't just take the FG there, if there was 8 or 9 seconds left I can see going for it, but with 5 seconds it has to be a bang bang play |

Yeah, I'm not sure what analytics they were using that told them that was a good idea. Straight up cocky and showed no respect for the Bengals D. They gave Cincinnati all the motivation they needed for the 2nd half. I expect more from Andy to be honest. That decision has to be right up there with some of the worst this postseason. |

It's a chip shot FG with a very good kicker, so very likely 3 points. That puts you up by 2 TD's going into the half against a team that's known for it's 2nd half performances. To then not even call a play that gets the ball thrown into the EZ was baffling. Handed the initiative straight over to the Bengals. I bet Reid wishes he'd had those 3 points in his pocket come the 4th quarter. Victim of their own success? |
Re: The Playoff Thread
Here's how close draft picks are.. If the Bengals didn't lose to Miami in week 17 2 years ago, we would have drafted Burrow #1.. Clearly he's a franchise changing QB. I Like CY and glad we have him but I'd much rather have Burrow obviously.

Re: The Playoff Thread
Twitter has been brutal the last 24 hours or so. Too many people complaining that Ron doesn't need a 5 year plan, the Bengals turned it around in 2 years so why can't we? Well, if the next Joe Burrow is out there and we can get him, problem solved. If it were only that simple.
|
Re: The Playoff Thread
Its because this fanbase is pissed off and tired of hearing "we are getting there" can't blame them

Ron should just worry about coaching the team. He has had two years to try and get a QB and has failed. He hasn't even drafted a QB in two years. That is inexcusable. It's a offense first league and Ron drafts Jamin Davis and signs a wr that can't get on the field. smh.. |

There was no legitimate opportunity for us to get a good QB in the last 2 years, Rivera had a chance to trade for Stafford and he tried but it didn't work out for us in the end. |

Yeah remember when some said nah we're good, we don't want Stafford.

Don’t forget Mills in 3rd. That would have been a great developmental pick

Haha. That what amazes me. This team hasn't had anything resembling a QB since Alex Smith broke his leg but whenever names are floated about they aren't wanted. The fans hate what they have because they suck but there's always some dumb reason why obvious upgrades wont work and we're good with what we got. Makes no sense to me. |

But people will drool over the likes of Mariota or Trubisky lol |

And we'll get them for the vet min, correct? Plus we should have all of this draft capital when we trade away the players that we don't like, which somehow would gather us any draft picks. |

We wouldn't have only won 7 games either. |
Re: The Playoff Thread
So with McDaniels going to the Raiders, there's a chance he may get rid of Derek Carr, the same way he got rid of Cutler when he went to Denver.
I would assume at this point it is too late for him to back out of being a HC, like he did with the Colts. |

I remember it well !! This fan base thinks that FRANCHISE QB are easy to get … From what I see even with the great front office teams it a gamble on most Rookie QBs .. for every Burrow there are 10 Haskins ,Rosen types ..I’ll bet dollars to donuts that there will be a couple QB in this draft that will he franchise QB … trying to figure out who is the hard part 😳 As far as Trubisky types .. I’m in if it cost no picks AND we draft a Rookie !! We can’t go into next year with a rookie and Taylor .. I think Trubisky has potential to be descent and a very solid backup .. |

It wasn't just Joey B either. Their defense vastly improved and they had a good coach that knew how to make adjustments. See Bengals defense in 1st half and compare it with 2nd half. We don't have that. It's also what cost the Bills the game too. Coaching matters big time. |

A good friend of mine from HS lives out in San Mateo and says the same thing, that 49 fans are just unbearable. I hope to get out to Half Moon Bay one day for some golf.
If you lived here through the 80’s here when both teams were great you would know. Fans wouldn’t give the Redskins the respect, saying they won 2 SB’s wins during the strike season. The NFC championship game that we won 24-21 they bitched and whined that the refs were paid by Washington (Ronnie Lott called for interference), players like OL Randy Cross talked shit after game. Ever since I fucking hated them. I live 20 minutes from the HMB golf course (North in Pacifica). If you ever come let me know, have a few beers. I found something that basically says it all: RandyCross has gone on record as saying that the Conference Championship[ game after the 1983 season, in which the Skins won on a Mosely field goal, motivated SF to emerge the powerhouse they later became. He decried two late penalties that he felt were phantoms. However, a play late in the game would have sealed it for the Skins without question. Art Monk (of course) was blatantly mugged on a pass to the sideline and no flag was thrown. That would have iced the game. Cross never talks about that play. And by the way, its a good thing he's on radio cause I don't have to look at his teeth. Every time he smiles, it reminds me that I have to pressure-wash my deck. |
