Pete Carrol out in Seattle? That would be surprising. But just got a news blurb on it.

All of this strikes me as odd though. You'd think whoever the new boss is would be putting that list together. |

They do initial interviews with everyone they can, but with focus on the President position. Get them in situ then have them join them for GM interviews then leave the GM and PFO to do the final HC interviews. That's how I'd do it. It's going to be a busy market, especially now the Seattle job is available. Get your due diligence in as early and smoothly as you can before the playoffs hot up. |

We really need this Adam guy from SF ; he is probably more important to this franchise then the QB we pick at 2

But Josh can't let all these names just sit out there without at least showing them that the new Commander's ownership group is interested, and at the same time give his pitch as to why this is going to be the organization to be a part of. Agree with the above sticking it to vagiants twice per year but also someone said 27th ranked D this year. I dunno anything is an upgrade tho over what we dealt with. Rankings or not. |

I like it!
To me it's a great approach. Exactly that get the ppl in front of you and vice versa. There's at least one step in the process starting early. I don't mind a long list of candidates at all.... it's all about perception tbh like in any sale... they will either think "shit they really are doing the due diligence and wanna find the best" or ... if we interview only 3 ppl... " damn they really are only going after who's at the top of the list they have" So I'm Gucci af with this approach either way I think it sends a message. How mofos perceive that message?, don't care. Just know that the message has been sent and the world has been put on notice. |

Yeah, thats a shame. He is under contract though so we could make the Chiefs pay if they want him back, but don't think Josh will be that sort. Likely he asks to be released from the contract if he doesn't get to interview for the HC position. |

SF was able to withstand that massive miss. Down right awful draft pick. Just goes to show how fickle it is drafting QB's. Their 7th rounder ended up being better than the first rounder. |

Because they were smart enough to keep swinging at the QB position. They took Lance in 2021 and took Purdy with a late pick in 2022. Keep swinging at it until you're sure you've hit. We might take Williams or Maye but if we see someone we like in later rounds we should take them too. Robert Griffin III gave rise to Kirk Cousins. Trey Lance gave rise to Brock Purdy. That's the model, keep swinging. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I have a general comment about the GM and HC searches: Git R Done!
Then, put them to work right away on the most awesome off-season since 1982 (when we added Russ Grimm, Joe Jacoby, Mark May, and more.) |

This is what scares me about drafting a qb this year. You can do all the research and homework you want, but even the best ones fuck it up. Hopefully we don't miss. I also agree about keep swinging - the Cardinals were quick to move on from Rosen when it was clear he wasn't the guy. |

To strengthen your argument, he also traded for CY But I still take him |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
So would I. and the CY move isn’t necessarily bad - for a team poised for a SB run, even small upgrades can make the difference and CY and Bosa on the edges is scary.
Whiffed on Trey Lance for sure but there no evaluator anywhere that wouldn’t be guilty of a big swing and miss. And as pointed out above, they’re still a favorite to get to the SB. They have depth on that roster everywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Speaking of Kirk, some teams should seriously consider going after him on a 2 or 3 year contract. Seattle is a team that has enough talent for him to make a big difference. Perhaps Atlanta, as well. I read that Tampa Bay is considering extending Baker Mayfield which I think would be a terrible move when they might be able to sign Kirk.

Bill Belichick as HC in Atlanta, bring in Kirk with Jay Gruden as OC...bam instant contender. |

I thought they were both candidates for the GM position. If one of them becomes President of Football Ops, could that mean Martin Mayhew might keep his job as GM? |
