That's not what I was saying. I was saying that Tim Tebow acts as if he has to be a power runner and that's not a good thing. Regardless of his build, I don't think Tim Tebow could continue to run the way he does in the NFL and stay healthy.

Tebow will take far too many clean hits in the NFL because he's not particularly shifty and I think that will prevent him from staying healthy.

Jaguars went 5-11 last year lol...

You cant tell me that Campbell is better than Ben Roethlisberger, theres no way anyone in their right mind will co-sign that statement

as for Flacco and Collins thats a toss up with Campbell (I'd prefer Flacco personally)

I argue the only qb "far worse" than Campbell in the playoffs as you put it, was Jackson...and he wouldnt be there without the o line and d line and Peterson.

I would add Delhomme to that list. He somehow got an extension on the strength of an amazing running game and one of the best receivers in the game.

I'd say its a toss up between Campbell and Delhomme...although Delhomme had one of the worst playoff games in history last year

I just think "far worse" can only be reserved for Tavaris Jackson...those other dudes (Collins, Delhomme, Flacco) are on Campbells level or better in my opinon

I can see where you're coming from (I'd include Delhomme and maybe Collins in the far worse category, but that's not a huge deal), but the fact remains that not every QB in the playoffs was better than Jason, so it's not like he couldn't lead a team to the playoffs. People who think, "we'll never go anywhere with Jason," history completely disproves that idea. Other things really have to fall into place, and that may be a lot to ask with a one running back system (essentially) that's based on a 28 year old running back.

That said, I think Jason is going to take a big stride this season. Playing with essentially the same group of receivers, in the same system, I could see him putting up some gaudy numbers and leading this team to 10+ wins.

It's true, I might be drinking the Kool-Aid, but I think this team has the potential to be as good as any in the league this season.

I agree with most of this myself

I think it can be done (wildcard berth)...I shit on Campbell at times, but I tend to over exaggerate

As our o line goes so goes our teams fortunes this year in my opinion

Tebow has NO CHANCE at being an NFL QB. None. He'd be a good guy to have on your team though. He could be a utility player and help out on teams, h-back, TE and maybe some wildcat.

That's kind of what I was getting at. I was just saying that his passing, IMO, isn't the greater concern. Tebow seems to take pride in being a power runner and that'll get him killed in the NFL.

Q: Why does everyone around the league, and certainly here in the D.C. area, crush Jason Campbell when it's blatantly obvious that his mediocrity is not for lack of talent or his ability to make plays, but rather the organization's inability to have confidence in him? It seems that for some reason Jim Zorn touts this guy's arm and decision-making, but he refuses to call plays that allow him to show off either. Even under Joe Gibbs, Campbell was unable to showcase his ability, and is seemingly asked to simply not lose games rather than win them. Will this change for JC, or is he as good as gone after the season?

A: Jason is in a tough spot, but he can come out of this big if he takes the Redskins to the playoffs. It's pretty clear ownership doesn't believe he is a franchise quarterback. He was drafted by Joe Gibbs because Gibbs believed he could be a franchise quarterback. Gibbs is gone. I believe Jim Zorn is doing the best he can to get the right plays for Campbell to run. Campbell's accurate as a thrower. He needs to be more consistent with his leadership. But he also must do better in the red zone. The Redskins' offense should average 20 or more points a game. If Campbell does well, he gets a new contract. If he doesn't, the Redskins move on to the next quarterback. In the third preseason game, though, Zorn tried more of a play-action attack, which might suit Campbell better.


From Clayton's mailbag...I agree on the play action passing. If our line holds up and Portis and Cooley can consistently get us in 2nd and 3-4 yds. I dont see why we cant air it out consistently to Santana and the youngns (Kelly, Thomas) and put some points on the board.
