Re: Updated/Merged: Shanahan Rumors (Will He or Won't He?)
Umm, Millen was a player who was in the trenches battling it out against other lineman. In other words he earned his ring. Vinny got his by being at the right place at the right time. Then 4yrs later got fired cause the team sucked. Pick your poison why but I'm sure he was partially a part of it.
hey, i'm just saying, he's been part of a championship nfl team. i'd like to think he learned a few things while being part of it. |
Re: Updated/Merged: Shanahan Rumors (Will He or Won't He?)
So far I haven't seen anyone make a real argument for Grimm.. just that he's a Gibbs coach and that he'd fix the o-line
he didn't fix the o-line in pittsburgh or arizona that much, you don't hire a HC to fix the line, you hire a line coach and get competent talent evaluators |

After seeing the Zorn experiment become pretty much a failure, wouldn't you want an experienced coach? (i.e. Gruden, Shanny, etc.) |

Not necessarily. |

Apparently he has not. Don't be fooled by the fact he only got the title like a yr ago. Vinny, being the "best friend" of said owner, had a lot of advise for DS I'm sure even though he didn't hold the title of GM. His time has come and gone. Take away ALL Redskins related duties from him. Make him exec of the theme park or exec of Redskins1 but move him on out. |

All of those guys were positional coaches or coordinators at one point in time, sometimes you just find that guy. |

Gibbs was an offensive coordinator, Walsh too and look what they did.

I guess I'm being a typical impatient Redskins fan asking for a proven head coach. Although I would have been happy with Son of Darth Hoody. LOL. |
Re: Updated/Merged: Shanahan Rumors (Will He or Won't He?)
I gotta tell you I'm not sold on Gruden or Grimm. Maybe Shanahan. I'm just tired of seeing teams pluck that next guy from someone else's bench and turn into a playoff contender a few years later.

Re: Updated/Merged: Shanahan Rumors (Will He or Won't He?)
Two possibilities here:
Shanahan concludes he doesn't have quite enough money yet, puts his integrity into cold storage, and accepts the Redskins' job under Danny's direction. Shanahan wants to build another Super Bowl winner, therefore tells Danny he cannot possibly accept the Redskins' job, where owner interference renders good football management impossible. Does anyone doubt that this position would be a non-starter with Danny? In neither case, therefore, is Shanahan the solution to the Redskins' woes. |
Re: Updated/Merged: Shanahan Rumors (Will He or Won't He?)
He's not coming. Move along . . . . nothing to see here.
