Beck is just the latest guy to tap into the cash cow that is "preach the end of the world is coming and people will pay to listen to you". Before the 1,000,000 channels of cable, they populated talk radio for decades. Inevitably, these guys start believing their own drivel.

What starts off as a calculated (and cynical) "preach to the choir" scam ends up as a "Wow, the choir believes me, I must be right" delusion.

This isn't like the Olbermann situation where MSNBC wanted him gone. Beck and Fox are probably going to gradually separate (I'd be surprised if this new digital content arrangment is a long term play)

I mean Beck's metaphor likening himself to Paul Revere...this is the type of stuff im gonna miss...seriously, if you dont throw your head back and lol when you hear him say something like that with a straight face, then you just dont get comedy. Thats not as bad as the liberal I heard last night saying that the Tea Party is full of people like this guy and its ony a matter of time before a tea party member does the same thing. Not sure who the person was but he was on the Left ch. and spewed more hate at the tea party then I have ever heard on the radio. The person was a guest but the host seemed to agree with eveything the person said.

I looked it up and the shows host was The Thom Hartmann Show

Sorry I'm not throwing the Tea Party in as a bunch of wackos. The wackos are the American public in both parties that have allowed our government to run up a 14 trillion dollar dept, steal our SS money, etc... and then look to them to fix this crap.
