Those comments came in direct opposition to what Swearinger was told in the last meeting. But the comment that nobody could look past? “I'm a very smart football player. I probably watch more film than the coaches.” Some coaches on staff felt Swearinger questioned their work ethic. That could not fly. “I’m quite disappointed to be honest with you,” Gruden said of Swearinger’s latest comments. “We made it pretty clear that we try to keep our business within these walls and we’ve had many a talk before about that, and unfortunately he chose to go to the media again and talk about his displeasure with some of the calls. I know Coach Manusky works extremely hard as does the rest of the staff.”
/aaaaand thread. |
Ok 2017 Swearinger and Nicholson was better than the Haha/Swearinger combo
Landry/Atowge was at the very least just as good
Lol. Seriously only had to go back several weeks. HAHA might be the single worst safety we have had in years and that says a lot. Including him in any conversation of great safety tandems is the same thing as saying you have absolutely no idea what you are watching. |

Clinton Dix just didn't fit the scheme...it was an incompetent decision to send a 4th rd pick to the GB Packers for him....they had Nicholson and have been grooming Everett for 3 years at that SS position...and they have Blanding and Smithson on the practice squad for two years who fit in better than HaHa does....I'll never understand this special ed front office... |

D.J. Swearinger released
A safety who takes bad angles to the ball carrier doesn't fit any scheme.
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
The bigger problem isn’t that HHCD isn’t playing well. It’s who is making the decisions to trade draft picks for players who don’t fit the scheme well? Who’s the driving force behind making personnel decisions? There’s been a number of blunders this year. Is it Allen, Gruden, Doug? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Monte Nicholson was outright horrible this year...HaHa is a scapegoat here and that's fine, but he's played better Monte like it or not.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released
I'm not even going to give HHCD any credit, he's been trash, and so was Montae.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Is there any hope for Troy Apke at safety? I never saw him play. He had some pretty nice measurables at the combine.

I don’t know much about him but the way people talk around here, he was a throw away pick. Good for special teams but not much else. I think people said he stunk in pre season before getting hurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Too early to tell on Apke.
Seems that fans never learn when it comes to judging players in their rookie years. |

he was brought in to lift the defense...he hasn't. he has to squeeze the int sunday, he has to tackle cooper in dallas, he hasn't made these plays. Safety is a problem again with HaHa and Swearinger both gone. Montae facing a likely suspension and has been injured in some capacity his first 2 years in the league. Apke garbage pick, cant play...he couldn't play in college. lotta work there. |

Couple things...the Free Agency class is solid and the Draft class has some players. Also look at the trend lately, there were some decent guys late into free agency. You could go get a solid player like Tre Boston for cheap or maybe spend a little more and get Honey Badger. Swearinger and HaHa not working out could be a blessing in disguise. But again, do I trust the worst NFL executive in the league to improve the team? |
