Wow, that was a great game and an even better hit by Laron. Glad we picked him up ;). Here come the G-strings.

2005. Remember we were called the worst 3-0 team ever.

Carlos Rogers had a hell of a game today. He doesn't have elite corner stuff, but if he plays every week like he did tonight, we can make a No. 1 out of him yet.

he covered everything beautifully[/QUOTE]

Well, except for allowing the 19 yard pass on 4th and 5.

Otherwise, he had good tight coverage throughout the game. Then again, who are the Eagles receivers?

I don't think he should get the game ball for simply "not losing". That's way too low a bar.

If we were to go 3-0 I would say it would be fair to call us that again.

Very nice game. Pretty well played. We had our moments but all in all, we came out with a pretty win. (at least in most parts)

This is a big win for the franchise. Two games up on the Eagles, we have to be the favorites in the division now.

Wow i thought Cooley and landry looked like ass for most of the first half but they really came thru in the clutch. Good win Skins! 3-0 before the bye week would certainly exceed expectations AND i agree that we would prolly be one of the worst 3-0 teams.

Play that got away: that wide open pass to Moss in the 4th or the option pass to portis.

oh well i'll take it.

2-0 is sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, that was a win in the division ON THE ROAD. That's a big deal.

And F*** Philly! I HATE those guys. We laid some wood on them--Taylor had a big hit, LL had the game winner, and Big Mike was running people over. Redskin football, y'all.

Re: Official Game Thread: Redskins at Eagles

2-0 is an excellent start to the year: i have several "observations from tonights game":

1. Is it me or does our offensive scheme under Al Saunders starting to take shape? He brilliantly calls for that deep ball at the end of the game, that should have been completed,
Jason Campbell looks deep FIRST, Portis and Betts are dominate, Sellars in short yardage, even Suisham is freakin money. A few more completions from Campbell here and there, also less dropped passes...i think we are a few games a away from averaging atleast 27-30 points a game! It seems as if Saunders is getting a feel for the weapons we have and is learning how to use them. If you notice, Jim Johnson did not blitz us like he usually does...I think his playcalling showed his respect/fear of our weapons especially our QB that can get the ball to those weapons.

2. Put it in the bank...we will score a minimum of 28 points next week

3. We need to be careful not to have a let down next week...it seems strange to say in Week 3, we MUST beat the Giants.

4. Where are all of the idiots that didn't want Landry here, i don't make many posts but i must say that before the draft i wrote a lengthy post about how Landry was the best defensive player in the draft and tonight he proved that you draft for skill/talent/ability not NEED. I said that this guy is a game changer and in just his second game (on the road in the NFC EAST/Monday Night Football) he makes the play to win the game. Bottom line.

*** Shout out to the defense and Gregg Williams, 12.5 points a game average will ASSURE us a nice playoff win. Defenseive unit looks fired up on every single play and we are three times faster than last year. Also, three sacks tonight gives us 5 in two games; not bad at all.

Re: Official Game Thread: Redskins at Eagles

I'm definitely not looking ahead past the G-Strings, but ESPN had an interesting stat about Gibbs-coached teams, that they've started 2-0 five times. Each time the team started 2-0, they made the playoffs. Twice those teams went on to win the Super Bowl.

Just sayin'.

Honestly though, when I first saw him lie there and twitch for a second my first thought was about Kevin Everett. Eagle or not, I'd hate to see a bad injury like that happen to him.

JWsleep 09-18-2007 01:23 AM

Re: Official Game Thread: Redskins at Eagles

I thought about Everett as well. But once he got up, I was ok with it--if someone had to be knocked silly, it might as well have been Dawkins.

How about the announce crew just coming right out and calling Lloyd a high-priced bust, and "mostly invisible"... guess they aren't buying his albums either.

Re: Official Game Thread: Redskins at Eagles

Rocky's looking All Pro. Fantastic development; and now the Skins are starting to learn how to use Sellers and ARE.

I wish now they'd give Wilson more of a shot.

As great as I think our linebackers are and safeties are, I doubt they'll be enough. The CB's need to get better. Too many completed passes tonight and there would have been more had McNabb not been throwing one bad pass after the other for three quarters and then missed an open receiver at the goal line in the last quarter.

Re: Official Game Thread: Redskins at Eagles

I gotta agree about Dawkins. He is one of the players I most respect on the Eagles because he's a veteran locker room leader who lets his play on the field do the talking, and he's not one of those guys that just dismisses the Redskins like we're nothing. I wish him good luck and I hope he's not seriously injured.
