Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
C'mon Duke Robinson!
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Isn't Glenn a Rb?
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Well Robinson and Meridith are gone, I would have wanted them, but I'm amazed the fell down this far.

Luckily the Skins have solid depth on the o-line. Didn't need those guys! |

and so let the weeping and gnashing of teeth begin; woe to those who wanted an OL guy. |

Eh, it's the 5th round. As much as I wanted Meridith or Robinson, they must have slipped down for a reason. I hope they picked up another o-lineman in post draft free agency. They still got Orakpo and didn't mortgage the future on Sanchez. I'm happy. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
A LB who's bio says he isn't a hard hitter. Shit, what a pisser. We should have traded all of our lower round picks to get a 2nd rounder so at least we would have at least received 2 future starters. This class truly is very thin.
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Sorry Ruhskins, I just piggybacked off of your post. But there are several who may come back saying how awful the this is because Meredith/Robinson are both gone
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
We still have 3 more picks. Let's see what happens.
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
I shouldn't be that pissed, at least they got a position that we needed. The bio says he is athletic, but can be overly aggressive and isn't the heaviest hitter.
|

Well people are always going to complain no matter what, I was merely responding to those folks. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
That Oher special gave me some buyer's remorse. I wish he were a Redskin...so much potential and character.

I am not really complaining that much, just wish Glenn would have been known as a heavy hitter coming out of the Big 12. Those guys are known for laying the licks on ya!!!!! We really need to find 2-3 starters out of this draft and the class is well really thin past round 2. |

Orakpo and Barnes, those are your starters. |

Yeah I voted for Oher on the Warpath's draft poll. Orakpo rules, but the D was the lesser of our worries. If we have a few starters on our aging o line get dinged up often poor JC is going to be like Ramsey was under Spurrier!!!!! |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Orakpo and Barnes, those are your starters.
I know Orakpo for sure, probably Barnes also. I will give this draft an A overall if we can land a diamond in the rough for the O line. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Ok, two punters and a kicker went on the 5th round, go scream at those FO.
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
I hope we get Javon Ringer or Kory Sheets. I'm surprised they're both still available.
|
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
If Barnes is a starter at anytime this season I will be pleasantly surprised. Orakpo, on the other hand, Would be the complete oposite. Go earn your money young fella!

Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Anyone notice that Tom Cable (Raiders HC) has a black eye? Makes you wonder what went on in the Raiders draft room.

I think that finding three starters if awfully optimistic given our lack of high-round picks. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
With the way things have played out so far, whta do the skins do next? Load up on O-lineman with the rest of the picks? Maybe a RB in there somewhere but they needed o-lineman bad and have yet to address it.

Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
ringer is gone

Al Davis had his goons beat Cable into submission after his reaction to the DHB pick. LOL. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Chris Carter really overvalues the impact of recievers. Would not shut up about an hour ago about how the Cowboys were going to be worse without T.O. It's like 3rd and 8 who do you go to "Jason Witten" so you're gonna go to a TE? (yeah a TE that had more yards then T.O.).
|

What about Smoots boy? The RB out of Liberty. |

He's still pissed at not being selectd to the HOF. |

Maybe, but shit we have 2 more picks, plus this LB out of Nebraska. If one out of the 3 is a gamer, we will be in good shape. That is why I think we should have thought about trading the lower round picks this season for one more 2nd rounder for 2010. This class is pretty thin, but who know, maybe we can luck out and get a true diamond in the rough still. |
He's still pissed at not being selectd to the HOF.
Yeah that and the fact that he was pretty much a prima dona himeself while he was in Minnesota. I still remember that one game both him and Moss would bitch out Culpepper for not throwing them the ball. |

Kareem Moore and Chris Horton were guys with 30 grades from Scouts Inc and both guys turned out pretty well so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Wow...really disappointed with the second day so far...2 guys with history of injuries and no O-Linemen....

That is such a good idea that I'll bet everyone is trying to do it, making such a deal impossible. |

I understand, especially about the OL part. Then again, if they didn't have injuries, guys like Barnes would have gone yesterday. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Yeah Lotus I know, it is almost a no brainer idea. But you should be able to get some of the crappier teams to bite on that.
|

Maybe we can package our 2 7th rounders and get Undead Al Davis' 1st for next year. :) |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Nowadays, given the speed of the college game, it's hard to find blue chip players who haven't been nicked up here and there over the course of their college career. Adrian Peterson had that same knock on him coming out of college, but he turned out pretty good.
I think the draft is just one component of the overall "off-season." If I were to judge the Skins in total moves/non-moves this offseason, I'd give them a solid B. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
Orakp was a no brainer but the next two picks was no brains! Anyone know when the next F*ck up is?

Well we won't know until we know. As has been stated here already, a guy name Chris Horton wasn't exactly the most coveted player in the draft last year and he missed the Pro Bowl by...well, he was damn good. |
Re: 2009 NFL Draft Chat/Discussion
49ers ravens then us

Well look at Dallas this season. 11 picks on the 2nd day? Somebody is always looking for more picks in the hope that you take more shots you are bound to hit something worthwhile. Unless we totally go all out for the O line the rest of the way, this draft is a big waste of time for us minus Orakpo. Barnes might pan out and who knows about this LB from NE. Barnes wasn't a bad pickup, but not a real need. Before just for the fact that they didn't get Sanchez and picked up Orakpo, I was going to give them an A thus far, now reality has set in. |
