I know it pisses me off as well and they try to so hard to get you to renew. It is annoying.

As far as SR3 do you need to play 2 to understand/enjoy 3?

I've been having problems lately with not being able to private chat on the 360. My friends can hear me just fine, but I can't hear them at all.

I think it might have to do with my NAT being at moderate. I've tried every solution out there, still can't get NAT to open. Any ideas?

Hmmm...I don't know I have struggled with it at times as well but I beleive when I switched to my dual band N router it was open.

I do sometimes get a "can't connect messenger" message. Closed or open it has never really affected my matchmaking ability and I never talk on there so if it is blocking the chat I could careless.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Also if you open your NAT it screws with your internet, if I recall correctly. there is a reason it is defaulted to be closed.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

I'm not even sure if the NAT is my problem or not. Obviously my mic works because other people can hear me, I just can't hear them. I've tried another headset too, same issue.

It's just frustrating because I can't figure out a fix. I have no problems with connecting to games, it's just the private chat that's borked.

Do you have your original controllers? Iwas using mine for awhile and they started eating through batteries and just been doing crazy stuff, when I got my new Xbox there is a notably difference when i use the new controller.

Yeah still have the original controller, works fine. I have a backup one I never use, I'll give that one a try and see if it makes any difference.

Check the router and firewall settings to make sure any ports are being block outbound.

edit: meant outbound

Just bought UFC 3 Undisputed. Haven't gotten a chance to play yet but I'm gonna really open it up tonight.

Also waiting for MLB 12: The Show.

Also waiting on I am Alive, that comes out at the end of March. That trailer though has me excited for what the game is gonna be all about.

I just hope they fix the frame rate drops on the PS3 version. Haven't been this excited about a game in a while. Very few games can strike the type of balance you see in Mass Effect. It's linear enough that it provides a great story but not so linear that you can't explore and do your own thing.

I personally started out with 2 after it came out and PS3 and then went back to 1 when I got a chance to borrow a 360 for a couple of weeks. ME3 doesn't come out until 3/6/12.

If you get the chance I would recommend playing them in order but in all honesty the first one can get pretty boring at times, plus the graphics make it look a little dated but if you stick with it it's a very satisfying game and even despite it's drops in action at certain points not to hard to get through unlike a game like Fallout.

Second one is easier to get into as it's much more streamlined then the first and it has a very good story.

The game gives you the option to import your character from the previous version or select the choices you made in previous games via a comic that activates before you customize your character.

Another thing I like about it is the difficulty allows people like me who care more about the story to breeze through the combat while giving hardcore players the option to make it challenging.

And the best selling point for Mass Effect......side boob.

Yeah, like a lot of early 360 games the gameplay was unpolished. The second is a lot more streamlined and action oriented.

The series has become a nice combination of RPG and 3rd person shooter and the Kinect voice controls are amazing. Finally yelling at my tv has a purpose.

The show is on of the best exclusives that always gets forgotten about. You getting I am Alive for PS3 or Xbox? It's crazy that game looks as good as it does and is only an arcade title, but I've already bought my code for it from work so when that comes out on the 7th I'll be ready.

I thought the multiplayer was just gonna feel tacked on but its freaking fun as hell. Already got 12+ hours into the game via both multiplayer and the single player.
