Have they stopped the spill yet? They should have taken the best strategy available and called a national day of prayer for the oil spill. It would have been stopped by now. God loves America better than all other countries remember that social conservatives? Funny how adversity makes people who claim to be religious and self-reliant nothing more than petty hipocrits with their hand out for a government hand out. Adversity changes everything. Where are the liberals when yo need them, get that commie president down here so he can do some socialism right quick, before I faint because of the smell of the Ocean.

Many states including mine wanted to open up off-shore drilling and had their state senators petition the government to remove the moratorium on off-shore drilling. The President agreed to lift the ban, if I recall right?

Enron and BP are architects of the cap-and-trade legislation / ponzi scheme for taxing and regulating one of the most common elements on our planet, carbon dioxide. The is for you Joe Theisman Fan, PLANTS BREATHE carbon dioxide and we exhale it. So these assholes are creating one of the best rackets ever (next to religion), taxing the air. And you liberal schmucks will go along with it because you feel guilty for destroying the Earth. The rest are just ignorant and are being played like cheap tricks, by fear / war mongering politicians who get their marching orders from their Gang Bankster overlords. Enron got taken down for cooking their books, but BP is still alive and kicking.

Oh, this is the same BP that had the CIA overthrow Mohammad Mosaddegh because he nationalized the Persian oil fields that were controlled by . . . British Petroleum. But you think the Persians hate us because Washington supports Israel and they hate freedom and the American way of life.

Barry Soetoero, or whatever the eff he's calling himself these days, gets on the TV and tells the American sheeple that we need to get off fossil fuels, replace them with windmills and solar power, pass climate legislation, and basically tells us that he can't fix the leak any time soon. Guess he can't?!

We can fix the leak. We could have and still can burn off the oil on the surface. It's standard industry procedure.

Or perhaps this is all just a coincidence? Never let a catastrophe go to waste.

there can be excess carbon dioxide and water vapor as well, I believe nasa's climatology dept said the vapor was an even bigger risk, idk I'd have to look at it again.. it was a few years ago that I read about it.. they do some of the readings right here in MD

I watched some of the hearing from yesterday with the CEO of BP and those ass wipes (both parties) that asked him questions. First why are we having any hearing when we don't even know the facts yet? Second why are we spending so much time on hearings when the focus needs to be on clean up and getting this thing shut down. Third the way they talked to him and the stupid ass questions they asked was a joke and they just wanted to get in some points with voters. What do they want him to say at this point with all the legal issues surrounding this spill? Most of them are lawyers and they know he cannot answer 99% of these questions for legal reason but they still hounded him and ask the questions any ways. I'm all for hitting BP but this is not the way to get that done and those people sitting on that panel looked like big a$$ holes.

And I would fault Bush and Reagan equally in this case as well. I have no issue with the POTUS taking time to himself and his family. He should as a matter of fact. I don't care if you're left or right, you should be a little more tactful with your free time as the President. With what's going on in the gulf, it's bad PR to be seen leisurely shooting 18 holes IMO. This isn't me being a Republican bashing a Dem. This is me being an annoyed citizen. If I'm Obama and I know my approval ratings are slipping as badly as they are, I'm probably not golfing for all the world to see at this point. I'd say the same thing if McCain was prez and he was hitting the links today.

vacation during an oil spill, vacation during a war.. the way this country is running through the past SEVERAL presidencies not a single one should get a vacation day if we're talking about negative things going on

unfortunately there's only so much he can do every single day about it.. and just playing 18 doesn't mean you didn't hit the office at all or at least get briefed on it

I'm not saying Obama is perfect or even the guy that I wanted him to be (because he's not) but I find it hard to fault him for going a round the day before Father's Day. This could've been arranged for him as a gift for all that we know.

It's a British company on a foreign rig in the Gulf of Mexico, yet the USA is the country to blame? I know that might be making light of the situation, but isn't it a little true, especially considering Mexico has some stake in the Gulf too?

I have never understood people's harping on vacations by the President (any President). Regardless of political views, this is the guy that has to respond in an instant in case of emergencies. Has to put his name on a bunch of legislation. Do we as citizens want him/her to be on a short fuse, or a frustrated/frazzled mind set. I am fairly confident that no matter what "vacation" they take, they still get morning briefings, still give basic guidance and directives. People who b**** about that usually don't like the politics of the guy and really just want to smear him, again this is our political system. Personally, I would be very happy if the whole congress/executive branch had a required 3-4 month period where they had to focus on working a "regular" job, and away from the political bickering, only to be called up if an emergency session was needed.

Read my previous post about how I think Obama should be spending his leisure time. I never said he had to spend 100% of every day working, or even working on BP for that matter.

Also, if they are going to blast Heyward, they shouldn't be such staunch defenders of Obama's golf game. Just don't say anything about Heyward if Obama is going to be at baseball games and golfing.

I think Heyward is a douche, and I don't condone either one of them conducting such public leisure with this crisis going on.

The press is on him because it's a story, right or wrong they are going to blow it up because it's a good headline. The press making a story out of something really doesn't speak to the matter very much to me.
