Cush 12-13-2004 12:03 AM

that would have gone no where anyways

monk81 12-13-2004 12:03 AM

The DEFENSE did, the offense barely showed again.

htownskinfan 12-13-2004 12:05 AM

at least we covered,I won a million dollars!!

Gmanc711 12-13-2004 12:05 AM

Game Over.... we had our shot guys just blew it

RedskinRat 12-13-2004 12:05 AM

How can a man who can barely walk be in there sacking our QB?

RedskinRat 12-13-2004 12:07 AM

If I played on the Redskins D I'd find the playbook (pamphlet) and burn it. Absolute bullshit.

Cush 12-13-2004 12:07 AM

oh well, at least I got to see Scuba Ninja's on Sealab 2021 tonight

Wise choice, I got to see my past life flash before me.......At least now we can say "goodbye" to playoffs.

jdlea 12-13-2004 12:10 AM

What a terrible decision to throw by Ramsey, but playcalling sucked most of this game

JWsleep 12-13-2004 12:10 AM

Hurting real bad.

LongTimeSkinsFan 12-13-2004 12:10 AM

Horrible decision on Ramsey's part to throw into double coverage! Just goes to show ya QB's don't need brains to play football but it helps. We did play them a lot closer though, more like what I expected. I was just disappointed that we didn't slam McNabb and TO more than we did.

LongTimeSkinsFan 12-13-2004 12:13 AM

Playcalling was really suspect like in the first game, like Joe really didn't have a definitive game plan for Eagles... just kind of go in their and keep trying stuff to see if it works. Seemed to me like there was a serious lack of organization on the offense too... like 2 or 3 delay of game penalties... not very impressive at all

bad decision by ramsey, but even worse playcalling... that was the absolute worst play call for that situation EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why can we not run a little time off the clock so we don't give it back mcnabb and co?? that sucked big time. Gibbs needs to hire an offensive coordinator and just stick to motivational speaking for the team or something.... that was just rediculous. he hasn't cleaned up the mental errors, he hasn't fixed his damn clock management blunders. he always goes away from the run even if we're down by one friggin point, he completely forgets about Portis. the waterboy could've whipped up a better game plan and playcalling than that. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if we won the game tonight do you still bash Gibbs for the playcalling or do you step up and say "oh my god nothing but sheer genius!" Truth be told, so many fans expected Coach Gibbs to take us to playoff heaven in the first year, and since that's not happening, now he's an idiot of an OC. Well let me tell ya folks the problems here go a lot freakin deeper than playcalling. Of all the penalty yards tonight, 10 yds was from Delay of Game, which rests solely on the coaching staff getting the play on the field, but the other 90+ yards were from players not getting the job done on the field. Not to make excuses for Coach Gibbs, but he really didn't inherit much of a team here to begin with. Yes there's lots of talent and there's plenty of big salaried players, but there was a serious lack of team cohesion and discipline when Gibbs came in and that is nothing that is going to be solved overnight.

Daseal 12-13-2004 01:25 AM

Longtimeskinsfan: We did waste a TO right after a penelty. Took another TO to avoid delay of game.

That being said, everyone would say he's a genius. Look at a former thread. I said Gibbs had awesome playcalling vs the Giants (a great mix) but said the rest of the season it was horrible, and couldn't find a single person that agreed. Now everyone says it's bad.

That being said, stop the bullshit with he didn't inherit much of a team. I think that a team with a lot of talent along the O line, Clinton Portis, two very good receivers (not great or excellent, but very good) and a great young Hback and QB. The offense has certainly played way below it's potential. Especially with all the chances they get thanks to an amazing defense.

Gmanc711 12-13-2004 01:32 AM

Oh I agree with Daseal. We defintley had about as much as you could ask for as far as offensive weapons as you can ask for. The Jansen injury is so much bigger than alot of people think, but that was the first big fall of our offense. Then the QB debacle. But yea, our offense didnt achive its potential. It could be the new system, but I expect basically the same guys with a new center to be in there next year, so if he didnt get much of a team, i think it would be a overhaul.

I don't say the playcalling is bad....And Gibbs didn't inherit Portis or Cooley, he brought them in. Gibbs inherited some very raw players in Dockery and Ramsey. Furthermore, as Gmanc says the Jansen injury was huge. And I think missing Hall and him still not being 100% has been tough on us as well

Daseal: If you take the time to read what other people say, you won't go off half-cocked making statements that make you look like such a young pup dumb ass. Do you seriously consider Patrick Ramsey a great young QB like a Peyton Mannning or David Carr? I sure don't. He has the physical skills, but his field presence and command of the game is nowhere near the same level in my opinion. And who is the Hback he inherited? Ladell Betts or Rock Cartwright? He went out and made the deal to get Portis. Furthermore if you fully read my comment you would have also noted:

Yes there's lots of talent and there's plenty of big salaried players, but there was a serious lack of team cohesion and discipline when Gibbs came in and that is nothing that is going to be solved overnight.

That's where I see the real problem on this team. Not a lack of talent or salary but plain and simple a lack of team cohesion and discipline. We are presently a group of highly talented individuals that are becoming a team, but the sense of unity and continuity are developing but not complete yet.

to go from the playcalling in the Giants game to what we did in the Eagles game was night and day... i can't stand gibbs calling the game like he's more conservative than pat robertson. and then going for a bomb into the endzone that would give the most explosive offense in the league 2 minutes even if we did score. just plain dumb!!! if we score there i still say nay on that call. you've got to run the clock down so you don't have to worry about giving their offense a chance AT ALL....

skinsguy 12-14-2004 12:16 PM

Did you honestly expect it as easy with the Eagles? The differences between both teams [Giants and Eagles] are night and day. I didn't get to see the game so I can't comment on the playcalling, but I suspect that the team was in an opportunity to win the game regardless.

It's not like our defense is a bunch of pushovers though. And if not for that bogus PI call on Springs, we had done a pretty good job against the Eagles who would have needed a touchdown to beat us had we scored on that Cooley pass.
