This is where I disagree with you 100%. The only way he'd get "corporate" sponsorship is if he was willing to play ball like the rest of the guys taking handouts. Legislation is bought and paid for on a daily basis by lobbyists. They don't give out 100's of thousands of dollars without expecting favors back. Look at that Ponzi scheme thread to see how the "pay to play" thing works. And just like that Newt Gingrich is the national front runner. I believe somewhere in this thread we were discussing where would support shift if Cain or Perry imploded. Well in Cain's case Newt has been the benefactor.

Newt Gingrich has taken the lead in PPP's national polling. He's at 28% to 25% for Herman Cain and 18% for Mitt Romney. The rest of the Republican field is increasingly looking like a bunch of also rans: Rick Perry is at 6%, Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul at 5%, Jon Huntsman at 3%, and Gary Johnson and Rick Santorum each at 1%.

Let make a few things clear, it's one thing to say 57 states and refer to Hawaii as being part of Asia and another to not know China is already a nuclear power and to believe the president isn't suppose to know something about foreign policy. With respect to Obama would a reasonable person believe the president isn't aware of the number of states in the union and that Hawaii, the state he was born and spent part of his life, is a Polynesian island? I suppose we could discount Cain's gaff over China but the body of evidence against his competence and flaunting of his ignorance with statements such has above I have no recourse but to doubt.

For me I just think Cain is not a polished poliltiician. Most will just dodge the questions they don't have the answer for Cain sticks his foot in his mouth. Not sure which one is worse. I do agree with Saden it seems he was trying to disagree with Obama to just disagree and I have seen all of them running do this and its stupid.

Ive seen bits and pieces of previous debates, but sat down and really watched the foreign policy debate because I think foreign policy shows who really knows their sh*t when it comes to being president. Couple things stood out, first, Newt Dogg did much better than I anticipated. I agree with his position on illegal immigration which wasnt popular with the crowd or other candidates. Mitt Romney is a smart guy, you can really see improvement from his previous run. He doesnt bring a whole lotta original ideas but hits every key point popular within the party.

Herman Cain and Rick Perry are lost, outta touch foreign policy-wise and its not close. I think Rick Perry could be retarded, something is wrong with him, he doesnt look genuine in any response. He gets off on making outlandish statements which play to GOP, Tea party nuts, but ideological are ridiculous and shows a lack of knowledge. Cain seemed to be bullsh*ting almost every answer and when that wouldnt work he would simply say "I would ask the experts" or something to that affect. Dude your suppose to be the expert.

Ron Paul is good for the field, will make solid points which keep the others honest, but of course sounds crazy with other points (ie "let Israel take care of themselves, they have nukes", did Paul just advocate using nukes in the mid east?)

Bachmann and Huntsman should probably get out, they bring little. Santorem was better than expected.
