Did he play behind an amazing OL? 6'2" 220 too small for you? He can evade the rush he isn't Ryan Mallett.

Wow....I honestly did not think he was that tall, he looked smaller than that to me. So, ok, I certainly retract that statement. I would say yes his Oline was consistently one of the best in CFB all year. |

I think his pocket presence and scramble ability made his OL look better than they were and I thought they were ok. |
Robert Griffin 3: Yes, we like him but all this talk of being enamored with him and looking to trade up to get him appears to only be a smokescreen. If he's there at 6, sure. But, as of right now, there's no interest in giving up picks to move up for him. At least, that's what I've heard. I actually am not even sure we'd take him if he's there at 6. But then, I thought the same about Landry
Reference what was originally stated by Smoot, most fans have a much different attitude, almost desperate because we are in such need of a QB. Where the guys making decisions are much more rational and methodical. There's good reason for it as a move up in the draft, costing multiple high round picks to get a guy can cost coaches their jobs and a franchise setback if it fails. I wouldn't want to be in our coaches and scouting departments shoes this year. |

I mean it's not going to shock me if we did trade up for RG3, it's just that from what I hear that doesn't appear to be the current lead intent

Sooo...are you saying they are willing to move up for Luck or Bradford but not RGIII. |
Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
This is probably the biggest draft for the Skins in over a decade.
This draft will define MS's career as a Redskin's HC. There has definitely been a change at Redskins Park, this is probably one of the first years in many years that I am excited about the draft more then FA. |
Sooo...are you saying they are willing to move up for Luck or Bradford but not RGIII.
I'm saying that from what I've heard consensually (that's actually not a word is it? or is it?) they're more inclined to give up assets for Luck or Bradford over RGIII. Michael Lombardi is saying the chatter at the Senior Bowl was the Redskins plan to sign Kyle Orton. As I think I mentioned in another thread, I've come around to liking that provided we add a couple of young QBs. I hadn't heard that there was new chatter about Orton to the Redskins during the Senior Bowl but I do know that they inquired with the Broncos about trading for him during the pre-season and regular season (I think I only told Matty about this...apologies to the rest of the mods). I can't recall if they made a bid for him when he was waived. |
After thinking about it all night I thoroughly believe that RGIII would come here and put up 2,500 yards passing 20 TDs 500 yards rushing and 5 TDs.
On a side note is 2005 the last time we had a QB pass for 20 TDs with Brunell's 23 that year?
Not sure but I think JC went 20 td's and 15 picks one year, either 08 or 09 I believe. |
Am I the only one that thinks that Peyton (the greatest QB of all time IMO), doesn't fit a shanahan system offense? I mean c'mon he is probably the slowest, or close to it, QB in the league. Imagine him doing a play action bootleg. You have to be athletic. He does that and bang he's hit before he even looks at a WR and his neck is probably gonners.
I think we're peytons 3,4th option if he gets cut and I think he's our 3,4th option if we don't get the other QB's we want. I also find it a little odd that yesterday he did an interview with Trey Wingo and he didn't flat out say "I'm feeling 100%, no doubt about it, I have feelings all throughout my arms and legs." He said "I'm feeling better but I still have a little ways to go" Now all of a sudden he's been cleared!?!? Doesn't make sense to me...
I think Peyton Manning can fit any offense - - other than a Wildcat where he might have to run the ball 15 times a game. However, try to imagine Peyton Manning in the Skins' training camp as Kyle Shanahan suggests that he change his footwork or his release point. Put thought clouds over Peyton Manning in that scenario and imagine what might go through his mind at that instant. |
Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
I doubt the Shanahans would mess with PM much, besides he's pretty sound fundamentally unlike DM who definitely had issues with his footwork his entire career.

D Mac's fundamentals are bad and it effects his efficiency. Severely under/overthrown balls with moderate to no pressure. You don't see Peyton making the same mistakes our coaches tried to fix with McNabb. |

That would suck if we went 0-2 in the aged veteran FA QB game. Especially if we could have spent a little more to get young talent at QB. I think he is too much of an injury liability to mess with personally. |

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Rebutting an ESPN report from Thursday evening, owner Jim Irsay tweeted early Friday that the Colts have not medically cleared Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) to play football in 2012.
It's clearer now than ever that Manning's camp fed ESPN's Chris Mortensen the news of his supposed medical clearance. "Peyton has not passed our physical," says Irsay, "nor has he been cleared to play for the Colts. Team statement coming on Friday." Colts doctors are reportedly worried about the nerves in Manning's neck and triceps. While Peyton is notifying interested teams he's healthy, the Colts still need the medical excuse to decline his $28M bonus. Counter punch from the Colts |

Walter football quaterback prediction for the redskins
Washington Redskins: Sign Peyton Manning By my estimation, the teams most likely to sign Peyton Manning in order are the: Redskins, Cardinals, Dolphins, Jets and Seahawks. I have Washington atop the list because no one will be able to outbid Daniel Snyder. The Redskins are about $33 million under the cap. Compare that to the Dolphins ($6 million under) and Jets ($5 million over with some flexibility), and it's no contest. After the likes of Mike Sellers, John Beck, and possibly Chris Cooley and O.J. Atogwe are jettisoned as cap casualties, Washington could have more than $40 million at its disposal. The only other team close to the Redskins in cap space on that list is the Cardinals, who will have about $25 million available if they don't retain Levi Brown. The problem might be the owner. Bill Bidwell lowballed Kurt Warner in contract negotiations a couple of years ago, so if he's not willing to pay his current quarterback, what makes anyone think that he'll come even close to outbidding Snyder? Snyder will offer Manning much more money, so even though Manning may like the prospect of throwing to Larry Fitzgerald, he'll probably opt to take the bigger contract in Washington. Also, remember that with all that money available, Snyder will be able to bring in Manning's entire entourage. That includes Jeff Saturday, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, and possibly Pierre Garcon and Robert Mathis. The Redskins already have a great pass rush and sound running game; add Manning, his weapons and the No. 6 overall pick (quite possibly Riley Reiff), and you'll have an instant Super Bowl contender - assuming, of course, that Manning can actually play well coming off his neck injury.
|

For every one of those articles Musicmaster, there's one of these. It's just crazy.
Miami Dolphins In Depth Source: Dolphins chances with Manning would be good INDIANAPOLIS -- So far the story of Peyton Manning has been one of whether he'll be healthy, whether he'll be cut by the Indianapolis Colts, and when all this will happen. But amid the saga of stories and statements and interviews with counter-interviews, I must tell you this: The Dolphins surely do have a confidence about their ability to land Manning if and when he's available. Why? Well, here at the Super Site, I' got the chance to talk to several NFL and Dolphins sources Thursday evening and everyone tells me the Dolphins definitely will be making the play for Manning. Secondly, I come to find out Manning is something of a South Florida fan. A club source told me Thursday evening that Manning has indicated several times during his career an affinity for the region and most recently put his money where his mouth his in that he and his wife bought a condo on South Beach. The name of the condo is Continuum. "His wife is also a big fan of the area," the source told me. "He likes the area. He likes the vibe of the area more than you might think. They own a condo down here. And no other team that could be trying to sign him will be able to say that." Interesting. |

Exactly...it's infuriating. So many in the national media have refused to notice that the redskins are doing business completely different now then they did under Snyderatto. They have not won yet so the media just assumes that it's Snyder business as usual. It's very lazy writing and reporting... |
