Rex Grossman throwing to Percy? |
No I wouldn't trade cousins, unless it was for a 1st round pick and then I'd still be hesitant.
|
Re: 2013 Free Agents
I would take percy but for a third. He can't stay healthy, has migraine problems, and is a headache himself to his team.

I wouldn't , but maybe Hankerson ? Of course , contract / money and Harvins health and attitude would have to be taken into account . |

Why the obsession with WRs? We need a FS desperately. Offense is really not much of an issue and shouldn't be much of a priority this offseason. |
I doubt that NY is " trimming down " , as they had no reason for being fat & happy :) . Has anyone heard any news regarding CB) C. Griffen or FS) T. Jackson returning ? It would be nice to hear how Orakpo , Davis , Helu , Carriker and Minnifield were doing . HAIL SKINS !!!
,
We also have to find a way to sign Orakpo , Carriker & Davis. We can push Orakpo off until next year & despite reports I think it's possible the Skins do just that. The Pec injury may always bother him. |

This is a very good article. I like their reasoning and they back it up with facts. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
I wouldnt touch Percy Harvin with his injury history. He is great when he is on the field and just to refer to him as a WR is borderline laughable.
I would say offense isnt a priority, if there is an opportunity to add a playmaker like a Percy Harvin, you at least explore it. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
No way I'd consider trading Cousins at this point.
Harvin is electric but he definitely has durability issues. |

Exactly! |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Look at Green Bay, they were just fine with WR with a stacked roster of talent. Did they pass up on Randall Cobb? Nope. He's a borderline superstar. Runs the ball, screens, one of the best KR/PR in the league and a WR who almost broke a 1000 yards last season.
Just saying were fine at WR is naive imo. Moss cap number and age is a major concern. Hankerson is still developing and terribly inconsistent. Robinson seems to be a one trick pony who may not make the roster this year. Im not saying we are in trouble, but hey if Shanny can find an impact player through the draft at WR, I will not complain. |

guess i'm naive.

Also GB got a good player in Cobb but you could also look at their current team and say the offense would be just fine without Cobb, and if they had an impact player on defense or the oline instead they might have won another superbowl this year? |

Oh the horror. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
Panthers' Chris Gamble is going to be available when they release him.
Not a bad idea as a depth signing and insurance in case we cannot get someone like Clemons or McKelvin. I'd rather keep Hall but if we're picking someone up, Gamble might be a decent consideration. |

He wasnt a project. He was best player available on Green Bay's board. "Best player available crowd" cant bitch when it happens. Are you asking if there was Defense player or Oline pick in the 3rd round or beyond in the 2011 that would have produced a Superbowl victory by now? Redraft the 2011 class, Randal Cobb is picked in the top 10 easily. Cobb is just an example of cant miss weapon. Is there one this year? I dont know. |

Would he be a first round pick? Absolutely, but who is he replacing in the top 10? Because Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, JJ Watt, Ryan Kerrigan, and possibly Robert Quinn who werent drafted in the top 10 would still be taken over him. By the way, no one is a can't miss weapon. |

Harvin is electric but he definitely has durability issues.
Not to mention the deeper concern for me, he is a massive head case (and I don't mean his migraines). He has a well reported history of issues dating all the way back to high school. He punched a college coach. Now he blows up at Leslie Fraiser of all people? Not exactly a guy that exacts fits of rage in my opinion. I think this guy definitely just handcuffed himself from ever getting a contract worthy of the performance he can produce on the field. He is officially in the Brandon Marshall category. |

New England will somehow get him anyway.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Nick Barnett released by the Bills per Schefter. Has 3-4 experience playing in Green Bay, could be some good depth, though I don't know how good he has been and whatnot. His 2012 stats: 112 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 FF.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Is the safety they released decent?
The safety Wilson according to Rotoworld: Pro Football Focus graded Wilson as the No. 8 safety in the entire league in 2012, but the new Bills coaching staff obviously didn't regard him as highly. Wilson turns 32 this offseason. He can still cover and fills hard in run support, so he should have a good chance to land on his feet. |

according to that list, 16 teams (plus us with penalty) are at or over 120M. There will be a lot of restructuring and surprise cuts, the question is who will take advantage of it. This is where the NFLPA hurt themselves by agreeing to our penalty. It's pretty much a guarantee we would use the opportunity to sign several players, probably to nice contracts, certainly market level contracts, as opposed to the Cincinatti, Indianapolis, Cleveland's of the NFL. Granted it's not a lot, and they were going for the throat, but we would have easily used that cap space on some of the guys who the stale cap will have hurt. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
a lot of teams in much worse shape than the Skins that's for sure
|
Re: 2013 Free Agents
After looking at this, I think we got a huge advantage in the uncapped year. And Dan saved 36 million dollars. We still dont look that bad. Look at those cheap bastard Bengals.

I was making an educated (or uneducated -lol) guess that if the skins go after a wr in the draft it will be in the later rounds, hence diamond in the rough. I was not referring to Cobb in the first part of my post but rather just a wr in general. As far as Cobb i never said he wasnt worthy of a top ten pick, (although i agree with Quake that he probably wouldnt be if it was done again) just that i think they would be better served with an upgrade at the oline or on defense because of their current high powered offense - which was high powered long before cobb got there. Im not sure there is somebody in that draft that fits the bill? Again i was just trying to make the point that there were other areas of need besides wr not so much an opinion about Cobb. Im more of a believer in drafting for need than best player available, unless of course it is a complete and utter no brainer, but than its always "why is that guy still on the board"? So.... |

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Maybe we should trade for Percy Harvin, sign Mike Wallace, and sign Wes Welker, so the ghost of Vinny Cerrato can be at peace.

There would be no way the Skins could trade for Revis then... you seem to forget that piece. |
Re: 2013 Free Agents
I'm not against drafting a WR in the later rounds but that's about as far as I'd go as far as addressing the WR spot this year. Garcon, Morgan, Moss, Hankerson, Robinson, etc. Could do a lot worse than that.
