Dallas is going for a run first offense in 2013. But I agree Jerry might as well fire Garrett now.

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Cleveland really did ball out on the coaching tip. Norv and Horton are like the Eric B and Rakim of cordinators. Horton being Rakim of course.
Sweet! We can probably count on the Cowpukes being mediocre (at best) in 2013. Same should be true of the Eagles with that crap defense. Unless the Giants rebound in a big way we should be at the top of the pile again, and hopefully with enough improvement to compete in the playoffs too.
Shhhhhh. The Goat has spoken. Book your playoff tickets everyone! |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
I'm very interested to see how the Eagles will be with Chip Kelly, whether he'll be another college bust or another Harbaugh/Carroll.
Cowboys, yeah, they look bad. Giants took a step back this year but they're still good. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Will be interesting to see if Dallas hires Hue Jackson. Garrett will definitely be on the hot seat if so.

I saw it pointed out on a cowboys board that Kiffen, Hue Jackson, and Mike Tice all have ties to Lovie Smith, who just happens to be unemployed at the moment. I wonder if Jerry would make that move tbis offseason,? it wouldn't shock me. |

Nor me. But I think it'd be more like next season. |

Lovie deserves a head coaching job but I'd hate to see him in Dallas. I've always admired him. I'd hate to have to start hating him. |

Nice. |
Goat you should just get permission to change your user name, apparently people dont like when you are optimistic or pessimistic? Lol. Maybe you should just relegate your posts to the science thread?
|
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
The cowboys are just a total mess, doesn't matter who they hire. His staff is already there, or partially there. Chain of command is what?

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Remember the last time an unqualified head coach was neutered by his owned by having his playcalling duties yanked from him?
Jim Zorn was his name. Good luck with your decision to take playcalling away from Garrett, Jerrah Jones. What's his job now, to walk around the sideline and ask why his team is losing the game? I know there are plenty of teams where the OC calls plays. We're one of them. But how often is a HC who was calling plays told not to call plays any more. Does that ever work out? I wish there was a stat on this. Anyone have one? I just see Dallas falling apart. The rest of the division is getting weaker as we're going the opposite direction. Another division title should be ours. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
JJ looks more and more like Al Davis every day. Great to be in the same division.

Ugh. I really, really hope Lovie avoids Jerry's fantasy team, on general principle alone. |

And we had a nice, balanced attack. Spurrier thought it was boring and took the play calling back |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Tony Sparano is headed to Oakland
|
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Gregg Williams is available still.
I'd love to have him back in Raheem Morris' place. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
We did have a top-5 defense when he was here...but between the media circus and the potential of him NOT getting past his "ways", no thanks....not worth the risks or distractions.
Just think how close he was to being our head coach! Most of us, including myself, were really pushing the idea. We could have been the Bountygate team. |

Yes but he can leave for any job with any team if it comes with an upgrade in title. DB coach to DC is something that gets him out of his contract. Does anyone know how long his contract was? My guess is two years. |

I don't think it was a lifetime ban. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
it was indefinite and he's sucked up hard to get back asap.
while we won't be adding him, williams did nothing but good things here, and he can run a 4-3 or a 3-4 without any issue. he's a great defensive coordinator, i don't think that's changed. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Gregg Williams was great in Washington because of the personnel, but in N.O. the defense was average..even if he came back to the Redskins I don't think it would make a big difference. Besides, I like Haslett as our DC.

Yes. Thanks, any idea if they plan on bringing him back for another year if he doesnt get another job? |

Danny smith staying or leaving makes no difference to me. Maybe he can take banks with him too.
