I'll get PT on it right away. I think I can have him back before training camp! |

I slept at a Holiday Inn Express. I'm qualified. Also, your comment will apply to anybody posting on this injury. |

John Keim @john_keim
Just talked to an ortho surgeon; he said LCL tears never happen in isolation. "Highly unusual." #Redskins #RG3 So he expects Dr. Andrews to find another tear when they do surgery on #RG3... An opinion based on experience. RG3 will work his ass off, he will be ok I got faith in that. He will be back and motivated. Hail |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
If RG3 can come back by October, that would be amazing.

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
RGIII doenst strike me as someone who will lay down and go through normal rehab procedures . I can see him going the extra mile to come back quicker and even better than he already was. I wouldn't bet against him not coming back by opening day.

That's what we are here for, to talk about assumptions. Doesn't mean it's going to be true. However, having had a ACL and knee cartilage surgery, I've had my researched info and had my share of conversations with orthapedic surgeons to know enough to be dangerous. :cool-smil Every case is different, every recovery time is unique to the individual. I still stand my prognosis of a complete reconstructive ACL is imminent. I'll withdraw my 8 month minimum rehab time though...lol (warpath MD) |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
@davidelfin I'm hearing MRI didn't show ACL tear 4 @RGIII so fingers crossed Wed scope will only show further to LCL which would be major relief.

Didn't they already say the MRI was inconclusive which is why he had to be scoped today? This seems like old news. |

I heard Kai Forbath was just going to amputate his other leg and let RG3 have it.

Do i detect some sarcasm? Just pointing out that other than Griff being an instant icon that there was some controversy involved. Not really a rite/wrong issue. |

I was rooting for RG3 right up till the final collapse. In hindsight, it wasn't a good decision (for Griffin or the team) to keep him in after the first quarter. If we had put in Cousins in the 2nd qtr and run the ball more...maybe we win. Thanks, to you guys providing updates. |

I don't want to see rg3 on the field again unless he looks exactly like he looked week 1 vs the saints. I highly doubt that happens by October. PUP him for sure. |

I think it's also an obvious decision to do what Bighair says. Sure we hate the idea of RG3 missing games next season. But haven't we learned about rushing the guy's knee back from injury? Getting him back soon as possible shouldn't be the goal. Getting him back 100% should be the goal.

MRI reveals torn LCL......I wouldn't rule him out for next Season AP is older than him.

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
Now it's more clear why Kyle said publicly he's "definitely" interested in exploring head coaching opportunities once Washington's season is over.
He knew RG3 would not be QB next season. I bet Kyle leaves the Skins for sure if given the opportunity. |

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
No sense in hoping RG3 back next season at this point. Only because there is zero chance of him returning the 1st half of the season. Let him rest and heal, and he will.
We need to look forward to Kirk leading the Skins, and there is a very good possibility that we may not want RG3 back on the field if Kirk has us in 1st place when and if RG3 is ready to return. That probably does not sit to well with some of you, but it may very well be a reality. |

Let's Draft a rookie qb, start Cousins and know that we have our franchise quarterback ready to go in 2014. We can successfully develop our offense around that concept and still be better than we have been in the last decade and a half. |

We have to keep going forward. A bad thing has happened but we do still have another potential great QB in Cousins. Lots of great offensive weapons and a defense that showed tremendous heart especially in that Seattle game. Good things can still happen for the Skins. At some point we will get RG3 back, but until then we continue to go forward. As RG3 said " He, (RG3) is the best option for the Redskins" For now, Cousins is that best option. |

I get a sense you aren't the biggest RGIII fan. Or maybe you just want KC to be the guy which is fine that's your opinion. But IMO Griff will be back in 2013, and if he can't play right away I have full faith in cousins to get the job done |

Agree 300%. hes gonna work his tail off like no other but we dont even know the extent or non extent of the injury lets see when we know then we can talk about return timetable. I want nothing more than #10 to be out there at some point in 2013 at 100% |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
What I have read is that the lcl is a longer recovery time. The other part is we are talking about an acl to go along with it. That being said it is on the same knee as before which could further complicate his recovery time.
It just sucks. Plain and simple |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
Getting on Shanny for not getting him out of the game is fine and all but I almost believe that he may have torn it earlier in the game. But all of the drugs masked that pain till finally his body gave up.

By earlier I mean at some point during the final TD of the 2nd quarter.

Don't get me wrong, I am a big RG3 fan and wish he was still healthy. But Im not going to go back to the doom and gloom. RG3 is superior to Cousins in every way IMO, except one. As I stated months ago, I like Cousins better only because I believe he will last longer in the NFL. With that said I don't want to leave this out, I believe Cousins also has potential to be a great QB. HTTR!!! |

I'm with you on this. My personal belief is that he tore it on that rollout play near the goal line in the first quarter. That's just a wild speculation. |
