Yeah we really should have a top 10 passing attack

I'm not sure how Roberts fits in to our future at wideout. He seems discontent that he's not going to be a #2 here. I think he'll last through the season, but next year he will want an opportunity to start and I don't think we'd be that team to give him that opportunity. |
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
I expect 85-90 rec for Garcon 1,200 yards
And 65-70 rec and 1,100 yards for Jackson 45 and 600 yards for Roberts And 55 and 700 for Reed |

Fans, not players. They want to get paid. Edit: if Roberts feels he can be a number two elsewhere n get paid more he isnt sticking around to wear a nfc east championship hat. |

Ofcourse but if he has a good year and another team offers him more he is going whether we win or lose. He is certainly not taking Garcon or Jacksons spot. |

I dont see why Roberts would be upset to be honest. In this day and äge 3 WRs start.

Always a way or a trade, etc. since when do contracts mean anything? Lol Im just in agreeance with Mooby about his future if things unfold that way. |

(and Leonard Hankerson... this is your wake-up call.) |
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
I think this is the best WR corps since Monk, Clark and Sanders. Except this offense now has 4 pass catchers with Reed, plus Morris in the backfield. With Griffin getting a full offseason to improve his game, on paper this offense looks pretty damn good. Still have questions about the line though..
|
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
I won't measure this offense by yards but by points. Teams will be forced to be the Redskins of the recent past. Jackson makes Morris a perennial pro bowler.

I have no more a doubt he will play all 16 games ( and three more 😉) than anybody else will. Being a Miami guy I sure hope Hank steps up. My God if he does our wr corp will be amazing. |

By this interview, Jeff Darlington says DJax went BACK to LA after his signing to meet up with RG3 again (around 1:17 in video). That's surprising, but if that's true, its certainly encouraging that they are already getting along so well and on the same page. Last year, it seemed that RG3 only targeted Garcon in high-profile situations (esp when Reed was out), and now he could really mix it up. A good draft and we could legitimately be back in the mix. |

A good draft and we could legitimately be back in the mix.[/quote] He certainly has more options thats for sure but I'm confused as to what Garcon's current type is. Some people seem to consider him a deep threat others view him as a work the middle/intermediate type. Personally I prefer to think of him as a possession receiver with deep threat capabilities. [YT]u_xTewLd5_8[/YT] As you can see though a lot of Garcons big plays seem to involve him running past a defense thats already in front of him, this in contrast to DJax who has more then his fair share of big plays where the defense is already behind him when he's making the catch. |
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
PG's game is run and catch. He's not a possession/throw it to the sticks type and he's not a just run past the secondary and catch the ball type either. Get him the ball with some space though and he can do some damage.

Jackson owes Drew Rosenhaus over $500,000. |

If Hankerson stays healthy the whole season, I bet they resign him next year. If he gets hurt again, though, he'll probably be gone. However, I wonder how long Roberts is going to be here. It's obvious that he isn't as important now due to the unexpected release of Djax and the subsequent signing. Perhaps they trade him for a draft pick and select a WR to develop while Garcon and Jackson are in their primes. If that happens, Hankerson's chances of sticking around here get a lot better. |
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
we're not trading roberts for a pick :P

Likely not this offseason, and that would be a good thing, but what about next year? Roberts said he wants to be a #2, and he's not that important to the team now, with Jackson around. Wouldn't be at all suprised if he's traded next year; unless he has a great statistical season...which is doubtful...unless Garcon and/or Jackson misses a lot of time...which is also doubtful. |

Roberts will be our slot and KR, he isn't going anywhere anytime soon. |
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
This was pretty much your first round draft pick. Great move.
Cooper gets counseling for abusing a black security guard with a racial slur on videotape, and Jackson gets cut for some amorphous bull**** "gang-related" activities? The Eagles are fucking idiots. |
Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
Slot guy in 3 WR sets for Roberts or moving outside and sliding PG in the slot is a good role for Roberts. He is going to be getting plenty of balls his way and he will have a lot of time on the field in those types of sets. He may not be on the field for every play but he will have a chanc to get a lot of work.

Nicely done by Keim, also has a link to a Washington Post article written by Kent Babb. Both Keim's and Babb's are worth the read:

I don't think that's why he got cut. I think it had more to do with his commitment to Chip Kelly's way of football. |

I've been hesitant to post my "article" that I wrote on the Jackson signing in here, as it is chock full of errors since I threw it together in about an hour. But as this is my favorite Redskins forum, and I value your alls opinions here it is. Maybe you all can give me a bit of constructive criticism. One of my first articles ever, currently taking a couple journalism courses online to get better. Tell me what you all think.

Nice work other than punctuation I would try to use a few more paragraph breaks. It becomes junked together on an iPhone or any other cellular device. Good stuff though and insight. BTW totally agree on this set of receivers having the potential to be better than or as good as the posse. I said as such earlier in the thread |
