Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Patriots waived DT Dominique Easley.
Wow. This comes as a shock. Even though Easley has ended each of his first two seasons on injured reserve, he's flashed big-time ability in the 22 games he's been active since being the 29th pick in the 2014 draft. Coach Bill Belichick spent much of last summer talking up Easley. Knee problems ended his final season at Florida early and hampered him as a rookie. His 2015 season was cut short in December with a torn quad. There's potentially more to this story. Easley turns 24 later this month and should resurface quickly as long as there aren't any serious off-field issues that have yet to come to light. McC, get this guy on a plane immediately. Guy can be a baller in the middle. Is the league about to announce a suspension or something?
reportedly has bad knees |

I guess better late than never, the Redskins were interested in Toler 2 years ago.

Didn't this happen last year? When did they resign back to the roster?

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Redskins signed CB Greg Toler to a one-year contract.
Toler signed after visiting earlier on Wednesday. He also visited with Miami, but didn't have any other free-agent interest. His addition gives Washington veteran depth, but Toler shouldn't be considered a lock for a roster spot. Toler was PFF's sixth-worst corner last year among 111 qualifiers.
$80,000. signing bonus for Toler. And the veteran minimum salary. |

Not sure how I feel about this. He's really talented and could really help us, but would cost a ton and he's 28. Not ancient, but how many years could we expect elite play? All comes down to how the deal is structured.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
I'm not worried about the $$, SM won't do anything stupid.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Tandler thinks Norman is using the skins as leverage with 49ers, could be. Anything is possible.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know how I feel about it. I'm all for it. He is a legit #1 corner and those guys don't grow on trees. The plan should be to not to let him get out of town on any more visits if a not too unreasonable deal can be struck. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I love the idea. Breeland and Norman would tighten our defensive backfield. I think top corners stay elite for a long time, IF their head is on straight. Of course, the money part has to work, and that could break it, but it would be nice to have an effective secondary finally. |

Meh. You don't need to use leverage when dealing with Chip. Just smile and say nice things about Oregon and he'll pay you twice what your worth. Heck he may give a draft pick to Carolina, just because. If it was leverage, you go to SF first, and say my next trip is DC. If he leaves here without a deal, he is not coming back. That's the way we roll. |

Another thing that helps him is that his game isnt built on speed, which can allow him to play at a top level for longer. I would put a Breeland/Norman combo against just about any in football |

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
The Redskins have a big offer out to Norman. It will be a big deal. The key is it won't be on a fat turd.

Also, unlike the Fat Albert signing, Norman is apparently a scheme fit for the Skins b/c Carolina plays the same primary coverage system that we do (cover 3).

Sent from my SM-P550 using Tapatalk
To me this is like the DJax signing, jumping at an opportunity that falls right at your doorstep. People forget that the old Redskins MO, was to go shopping on the first day of free agency or give up picks. We haven't done either one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
If he signs with the Redskins only time will tell if he's as good as the fans here think or if the Panthers were right. It's a gamble and sometimes you need to follow your gut feeling. One year flash in the pan or the real deal? We'll see if he signs with the Skins.

well now we will also see if he made that panthers dline that good or the other way around.. I want him on the team for the right deal and I have faith in SM |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
just because you have a good gm doesn't mean you can't make big deals. it's just that you have to hit 90% on big money deals to not hurt your team.
like someone else said, this is djax, a great player let go after the market rush, allowing you to save some money while getting a guy that normally wouldn't be available. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
I'm all for it. Still trust Scot.
Been a major need for years. Also will shut down Beckham Jr 2 games a year... |

Because he'll be covering Beckham and Dez at least 4 times per season, so we get to see Josh play 16 or more games per season PLUS we get to see 4 or 5 PROFESSIONAL FIGHTS between Josh and either Beckham or Dez within the games. Where else could we find such a deal?! |

I like this gamble better than the Giants gamble of Janoris Jenkins 62 million. or Byron Maxwell 63 million or Joe Hadden (immensely overated) 67 million.... |

Sent from my SM-P550 using Tapatalk
that was my initial fear but then I started to look into it, and He is the prototypical Scot corner so while I have little doubt that Danny boy wanted him and is in full support, this has Scot written all over it. |
