Few thoughts from last night:
It is still weird for me to see Cole in a Yankees uniform Fenway (or Boston) is not what it was. I used to love seeing games in Fenway in the late 90s and prior to 2004. The place was packed you rarely saw opposing team gear in the stands. Now they are like every other stadium it was like 20% Yankees fans. You never saw that in the 90s. Boone and his comments like "The league is closing the gap on us" that is laughable. He needs to go. I agree with Cashman too. Punch I think you have only one genuinely home grown talent on the team in Judge? I might be wrong but that is far different than the Yankees teams in the past.
I feel like there have always been a good amount of sox fans here and yankee fans there. Boone needs to go. Never wAnted Girardi gone but was ok with the Boone hire. For about 2-1/2 games. Been questioning his judgment for years. German, Judge, Gardy, Montgomery,,Sevy, Wade Sanchez all homegrown. Few guys in the pen. Probably forgetting some others. Frazier and Andujar. They have been hurt and meh. Some real young ones that got in the action this year and looked good. It aint all bought and borrowed. Lol. |
If the game was Red Sox vs. Bmore say 1997 it be:
80% Sox Fans 15% Yankees 5 % Os fans Fenway attendance. The Yankee fans just come to be annoying. The Cask and Flagon, meh, always to crowded and there is a alcohol shot ban after the 7th inning for all the bars in the area.
The Yankee fans do not go to Fenway to be annoying. Lol. They go because it is Fenway. Same reason there are as many Sox fans at Yankee Stadium. It is arguably the biggest rivalry in sports and it is like a four hour ride. Camden Yards is also iconic. And close. Yankee fans do appreciate the history of the game. Trust me. Any rivalry that is a day trip you are going to see massive amounts of fans at the visiting stadium from both sides. Especially baseball. Im not a huge baseball fan, but i know many. They dig Fenway because it is Fenway. It is like a pilgrimage they feel they need to go on. Same for them coming to Yankee stadium. Makes it better imo. |

They are drunk and making funny of how we say Noma(r). Same as a Cowboy fan in Fedex and a Steelers fan at M&T. Anyone from JERSEY is fucking annoying in general, lol. All this hockey season I swear everyone one of kids games is in NJ, that state is the worst, you can't even make a left a turn. |

You will get it! Seriously though. I live here. I know a thousand yankee fans. Everyone of us wants to trek to Fenway because it is Fenway. If we simply wanted to throw tomatoes at their fans we could do it from the comfort of our own stadium. Because they are here just as much as we are there. Fenway is iconic. |

Re: MLB thread
Yankees/Sox are a huge rivalry and the two cities are a fairly easy drive. Of course the fans travel how are we even having a debate here? I don't think Yankee fans are spending good money to go to Fenway to just be annoying.
I lived in MA for a couple of years and driving out there is no picnic either. Roundabouts everywhere and people drive on them like it's the Indy 500, and you have to make U turns everywhere. And the Mass Pike sucks too, the on ramps are super short and people have no problem running you right off the fucking road. |

And those stores were closed on Sundays so you better stock up in advance or you were shit outta luck. |

The "packie" Baltimore county doesn't sell booze on Sundays unless your facility/store has a bar attached to it. If you desperate for Sunday alcohol you made a run for New Hampshire, grab some fireworks too. |

I don’t think the bar is too high based on your comments but ill take it! Met a bunch of kids when I was living out west from Mass. it was the first time i heard the term Massholes. Love it. They were great kids. Hitch hiked all over the place with a couple of them. One has since passed and the rest idk. This was way before cell phones so when that trip was over it was over. Massholes still cracks me the fuck up though. Haha. |

Lol never change Punch But honestly, Yankees fans are the worst in baseball. Red Sox fans are obnoxious. We happen to play in a division full opposition fans that are generally terrible and obnoxious. I gotta give a shout out tho to a couple other football fanbases who are generally jackasses…Steelers, Ravens…49ers fans from the Montana/Rice years were fuckinf douchebags. The sudden wave of Tampa Bay fans…sit the fuck down you won the fucking lottery….Raiders fans are annoying. |

My entire family Mets fans. Ton of friends mets fans. Ya’ll say the same thing. Yankee fans are obnoxious etc etc. But I root for the Mets when they make it and we do not. I genuinely do not hate any other team or fan base other than Boston. Because it’s part of the deal. I respect them though. Mets fans on the other hand I feel hate the Yankees more than they love their own team. They, like many other fan bases consider the season a success when the Yankees do not win it all. Yankees fans can not help that they are perennial contenders. We are the same as any other fan base. Passionate. But jealousy plays a role in how everyone sees us. Ya’ll have convinced yourself we are actually jerk offs. Lol. And ya know what it comes with the territory and i love it. So do the players i think. Hate is the ultimate sign of respect. But if Boone doesn’t get gone we are gonna lose that. Been Bostons bitches for like 11 years now. [emoji22] Edit: not all on boone obviously but he isn’t helping it. |

Rays are fun to watch. Randy Arozarena is a stud. I hate seeing Rays go deep into playoffs though because their stadium is just a dive and part of the fun of baseball is the stadium designs. I think for the AL if I could take the Rays and force them to play all their playoff games to Fenway after they sweep the Sox that would be ideal.

If the goal was to build the most generic and boring AF stadium as possible mission accomplished. First time I went there I was amazed it was a MLB park. |

This was the best fan game day experience I’ve ever had when I went a couple years ago..From the free shuttling from close hotels, to the surrounding activities and events around the stadium, the pre game live-walk right up the booth where ex mlbers are live on tv…shops and food. Not too expensive either-got ipa tall boys for like 7 outside on the street. The stadium is small and intimate…you are up on the action. The lighting in the stadium and angle of the viewpoints it’s wild, I love that. Big airy stadiums..dinosaurs to me, too far away from the action. Anybody who loves baseball, you gotta go to the Braves new stadium. |

Arozarena is an absolute stud. Total Yankee killer. And I hate him. |
Re: MLB thread
The Rays franchise is just mind blowing. Ugly stadium, no money, no fans. But somehow good every damn year. If a team with any money could clone their decision making process they would win the world series regularly.

Well they fell off for a while when Cash took over. But he righted the ship last couple years. Maddon really turned them around. Always have good gm’s too. Yeah they are amazing for what they got. Rooting for them to win it all. |
Re: MLB thread
Shitty stadium aside, you can't beat taking a vacation in the Clearwater area and hitting the park for a game and downing a few Jai Alai IPAs. Love those beaches down there.

Haha I wouldn't mind the Braves but they did go to like 20 world series in the 90s so I want some new blood in there. Plus it is hard to not like a town that is known for beer and sausage

I have no problems with the team or city, besides they're playing my team. I'd pull for them in the NLCS if they come back and win the series. |
