Are you even capable of being civil in this forum? Of everyone who posts in this forum you provide the least to the board.

To chico , he doesn't deserve it. Maybe do a little research on him first before you decide to become the internet Police.

I stand by my comments you have provided more than enough fodder to support them over the past 2 years.

Well one thing the MAGA wing can now be pounded on is their mantra of draining the swamp. What could be more swampy and contribute to the deeping of "the swamp," than demanding and succeeding in eviscerating the House ethics board and blocking ethics investigations?

I see a lot of coping today. Looks like Joe mishandled classified documents himself and couldn’t have de-classified them as VP doesn’t have that legal ability.

Joe Biden's Classified Documents Remarks Come Back to Haunt Him

Biden added: "And I thought what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods. By that, I mean, names of people who helped or et cetera. And it's just totally irresponsible."

Since 2017? Agree Joe, very irresponsible

Could easily put this in the WTF thread. So sad what is happening in Haiti, yet we have a policy under "white foot , brown foot" where we keep Cubans that flee their country and land in Florida but return Haitians to this

That country feels broken beyond repair.

Seems like the only possible answers are for either:

Countries from outside of Haiti to come together and declare war on all the gangs, then set-up a democratic vote, and then stick around long enough to let it get established.

Or

Have an alliance of countries come together and make a decision to basically clear the island and let every single person that wants to leave go to 1 of those countries.

Both of those options obviously come with lots of issues. And I don't know if that country has enough resources or economic future, to get outside countries to truly care about Haiti.

It's really sad. Sucks for the millions of Haitians that are good people that just want to be able to have a decent life.

Bmore, you know what actually does piss me off? D.C. operates like a stereotypical movie about high school girls.

Now republicans in the house are going to insist on all these investigations into random things, not because it will change anything, but because it's some sort of revenge.

Chance to be adults? No thanks.

I wish the message was simply, we're going to draft legislation to the best of our abilities in accordance with what our constituents want. For that reason alone, we want to represent our constituents.

Both parties do an amazing job of keeping a shitty house but shifting the focus to the other side having an even worse house. If you have 10 piles of shit on your own floor, your neighbor having 11 piles, doesn't justify your 10 piles of shit.

Fix your shit 1st, then possibly talk about other people's problems.

It won't ever change under a 2 party system though.

Yeah .. was reading about this yesterday

Haiti is so close and we wouldnt have to worry about the ME logistics and geo politics

Id love for us to get involved but with our country divided/looming recession it would just be gas on fire

and of course .. haiti has zero resources or value to us

I worked with a older guy from South Africa about 15 years ago who’s good friend was a some sort of civil engineer who worked extensively with Haiti during Clinton era and maybe post era.

The US pour money like a spout into Haiti, advised and worked with the government to help the plight. I specifically remember this quote from him about what he said about Haiti after failing it…..the only way Haiti could succeed is if half the population died.

Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever

Haiti's societal corruption is well documented but they suffer from problems beyond their control as well. The french had about three times the number of slaves as the Spanish but only a third of the island. There were significantly larger population with less land and resources to start, but the bigger issue is the island has a rain shadow.

The atmosphere has to rise over the mountains in the center of the island to get to Haiti. Doing so the air, cools condenses and drops all the precipitation on the DR side, leaving less precipitation for Haiti.

Less precipitation less agricultural productivity. Less tree regrowth which is the dominant fuel resource in the country. No food and no fuel to cook it with or boil your drinking water. Your work friend is right the population exceeds the carrying capacity. Even then the corruption that would exist would make it fail.
