Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 3)
I'm just speculating, but the new FO may be using the Redskins' old reputation to make other franchises squeeze out more money, and thus take out more of their cap space.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 3)
I don't want to make a big deal out of this since all the facts are not in, but Kelly Johnson Of Comcast is reporting that Albert Haynesworth showed up for orientation on Monday, then proceeded to miss workouts this week. Hopefully there is a legitimate excuse.
It has been fairly quiet during the FA period but I got a feeling that it will be pretty active during the draft with some trades. I expect Carter, Landry and possibly Moss saying goodbye. I would love to get Golden Tate somehow.
We aren't replacing Moss and Landry with 3rd and 4th round players. If we get rid of Carter, Landry and Moss we are throwing away 2010. I don't know about you but I would be pretty pissed about that. I am sure that Haynesworth wouldn't be too happy either. |

I would also try to trade Carter. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 3)
Whats the fascination with this trade Laron Landry crap, this guy was the best Safety to come out of the draft 2ys ago, and he would be a Pro Bowl safety if the Redskins woud get thier heads out of the sand and play him at SS where he is suppose to play....The most stupid move the skins could make is the trade a safety that was the first round
(6th overall) pick 2yrs ago for anything less than a 1st round pick...Period Seems people have forgotten his first 2yrs ........... Posted 167 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in two NFL seasons Named to the NFL All-Rookie Defensive Team as a rookie in 2007 Named a first alternate to the Pro Bowl in 2008 and third alternate to the Pro Bowl in 2007 Recorded the first two interceptions of his career in a Wild Card Playoff game at Seattle (1/5) |

Oh wait, there aren't any. It's called regression. That said, I don't want to trade him now. It would be selling low. |

Everyone in the top 5 wants to trade down (for several reasons), in the current environment it is very unlikely, so considering the scenario is most likely a waste of time. We can disagree but trading Landry for a 3rd hurts the team and I don't see it happening. If we trade down, we aren't getting Berry. Mays, sure, but he isn't making it to the pick we would get for Landry so that is a net negative. I don't think it makes any sense to trade Landry for a 3rd and pick a safety with our first pick. It just doesn't. Now if you keep Landry and pick Berry, I can live with that. It isn't what I want but Berry is an animal and if he is there at 4 he is arguably the most talented player on the board. Tackle with the 2nd, ok. I would rather use the 1st on a tackle but that is fine. Picking a guard with the aquired 3rd, ok. I don't think you can count on him to play in year one (see Chad Rinehart) but I want us to start taking the shotgun approach to drafting O-lineman. I am fine with trading Carter. I think SmootSmack said we could get a 4th, maybe? |

Well why can't Landry be like Orakpo, show up with a good attitude and get the job done from the get go. Honestly, my issue with Landry is his attitude, ever since he was a rookie he had stupid late hit and taunting penalties. How long until he grows up? |

I certainly haven't nor will I ever forget that about Sean. Laron is no ST. However he's a better player than he showed last year. He needs to a be a SS and not a FS. We shall see what kind of player he is, but I'm down on him for sure right now. |

That is up to him. ST had a ton of late hit penalties too. I think he had 5 straight weeks of fines, or something like that. Landry makes the same mistakes that a lot of young players make. He had a bad third year overall but he did a lot of good things too. It is just at 4-12, it is pretty easy to focus on the negatives. |

Once again, not to knock on his talent, but my whole deal is with his seemingly lack of discipline. Granted, he's no Pacman Jones or anything like that, but his attitude towards the game such as...against the Giants, seemingly more preoccupied with getting payback on Brandon Jacobs rather than actually playing the game; consistently going after the big hit (and missing miserably), again the late hit penalties, etc., etc. It appears that he changed a bit towards the end of the season, but I think he needs to get his attitude in check. |

I think he is a heck of an athlete, and most likely playing out of position. |
