its like Granziano has been reading whats Chico's been writing.

I like how he sums it up in the 3rd paragraph: "The offensive line in front of Griffin or Luck will have to be even better than it was in 2011."

bingo

Redskins still want OL upgrade?

Wednesday morning we explored what some of the OT-needy teams remaining in the NFL would do following the signing of Demetress Bell by the Philadelphia Eagles. One team mentioned was the Washington Redskins, who have a solid starter at LT in Trent Williams, but who could use upgrades at other spots (including RT, where Bell likely would've slotted in).

It's possible that Washington will explore some other veteran FA options, but they may make some OL additions in the draft as well. ESPN NFC East blogger Dan Graziano explored that topic on Thursday morning, and here's a snippet of his thoughts:

- Tim Kavanagh

Dan Graziano
After Griffin or Luck, OL could be next pick
"The offensive line in front of Griffin or Luck will have to be better than it was in 2011. The Redskins know this, and it's why they were looking at upgrades over Kory Lichtensteiger and Jammal Brown. They wouldn't mind finding a new center, moving Will Montgomery out to guard and deepening their personnel across the whole line -- maybe even giving Lichtensteiger and Brown a little more time to get whole. Best available offensive lineman, regardless of position, looks like the way for Washington to go in the third round, and maybe even with one of their fourth-round picks as well. The only other area I think they'll specifically target is the secondary, but they actually had some success there in free agency, so it's less of a priority than the line."

Thanks for posting Dirtbag. I definitely appreciate it.

And I love Dan Graziano's work, but what is he talking about success in the secondary? Cedric Griffin might not even make the roster coming out of preseason. I'm not opposed to them bringing in one or two o-linemen with their mid round picks, but I would love to get some secondary help as well.

Who was the guy before Graziano that we all hated?

Well, I think he means signings = success.

I remember when he left the ESPN NFC East column and the section was deserted for like several weeks. Dan = The MAN!

He said he grew up one. Don't know if he stayed one. He seemed pretty happy to leave though from what I had heard. Guess things weren't going quite the way he had hoped. He's doing well for Fox though

Good for him, I'm glad he's found something better. I wasn't a big fan of his on the NFCE blog over there, I too felt like he gave preferential coverage to the Cowboys more often than not, and the stuff he wrote about the Redskins was mostly negative. I think Graziano is doing a better job providing fair coverage to all four teams and I think he (to steal a phrase from Zorny) "stays medium" in regards to what he writes.

I find it amazing to see the largest contingent of fans on ESPN NCF East is always the Redskins. Someone made a comment on Graziano's Tuesday chat forum about that and he confirmed that the Redskins fan base (whether we win or not) is always the most rabid. Kinda cool.

Skins looking at CB. Thought I'd post for those interested in who the Skins are looking at.
