Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I am encouraged by the fact that the Cowboys and Eagles haven't done much in free agency. The Cowboys got Gary from the Packers and the safety from the Cardinals (Thompson), but otherwise didn't do much beyond re-signing some guys (Williams, Pickens (most likely), and Aubrey. The Eagles got picked over and basically picked up 1 quality FA in Tariq Woolen. The Giants did better, with Likely, Edmunds, and Newsome as good signings. I think we did a lot more to improve our team (and had a lot more to do than PHI and DAL, in any event). A lot can and will happen in the upcoming months, but this week has been encouraging.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Were Dallas and Philly in a position to do a lot in FA? Jones had to do their usual restructuring to get some room and even then not a lot. Roseman likes to get the comp picks, so he doesn't go all in on FA and they didn't have a ton off space to play with. No point competing with AP on players as we can outbid both of them.

Entirely fair points. Jones said that he was going to take some swings in FA (although his cap situation wasn't ideal), but he really didn't. Roseman also had some limits to what he could accomplish, but not all signings have to be splashy and there's really only 1 guy that moves the needle for them (Woolen). They just haven't done much at all. Of course, that could change if they trade AJ Brown. I'm just pleased that neither team seemed to get better (and Philly arguably took some real hits). |
Commanders signed TE Okonkwo and safety Nick Cross.
2 excellent signings. Overall pretty happy with this FA class. A lot of needs were addressed. Would have like to have seen Jennings or one of the more notable wrs but like the defense being addressed with a lot of new studs. Love the Chenal and Oweh signings especially. Onto the draft next.

I really worry about philly's draft. They have been very good at and improving their team through drafting the last bunch of years. |

Mixed on this. I wondered at seasons end if he'd be better for us in a new D as he was good in '24. But he isn't a starter and didn't warrant starter money. No word on how much they're paying him, but it's a 1yr deal so probably a prove it contract. I guess Robertson is a straight replacement. Still need an upgrade at CB if you ask me as Amos is the only nailed on starter. Would have been good to get someone like Newsome. There are no starting level CB's left worth chasing now (i.e. Diggs) so it's got to be a draft target. Given the depth now on DL, LB and having at least 1 better S (Downs in the draft?) the only 'blot' I see on AP's copy book is a starting CB and WR 1 or 2. And I guess given his limited options, it's not a surprise; we were never likely to rebuild the roster in one FA period alone. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
All true. Way too many holes to fill with FAs. Starting level FAs anyway. And we needed depth everywhere.
WR2 could still be Aiyuk. Jennings and Deebo remain unsigned too. I suspect we will land one of them. C and S are noticeable gaps, and CB depth as well (I assume they’ll start Robertson, Amos, and Sainristil - although maybe they’re thinking of grabbing a CB at 7 - Delane?). Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Jets just traded Fields to Chiefs, I'm surprised by that Chiefs are interested in him as he is completely opposite of Mahomes although I'm sure Reid will figure out a way to utilize Fields better than Jets did.

Talk of moving Coleman to C and I keep hoping Owens has a breakout season. But yeah, if they draft Downs at 7 it would make a lot of sense. I don't think there's a CB rated highly enough to take at 7. Not with whoever else will likely be available. Likely one pick will go on a CB though. WR is the one that's all up in the air until SF decide what they're doing. Aiyuk wasn't my first choice, but he's making more and more sense now. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Christian Kirk for $6M to 49ers.
That's an awesome deal, mainly slot now, I wouldn't have been mad if we got him, oh well but that does put more pressure on the 49ers with the 3 that we are considering, Deebo, aiyuk, jennings. I actually see Aiyuk as the only possible #2 field stretcher, Jennings is not dynamic, Deebo isn't either. They are both solid 500+yard guys though, but shaking coverage is not what they can do, when you have Daniels, you need a wiggly guy when he does the scramble drill. What's up with Hollywood brown? Or is he done? I also think he is slot. Who knows, send dyami deep every other play at this point |

I actually really keen to see what McCaffrey can do this year. He seems to get open a lot, and has good hands (not to mention, he did well in the return game). Hopefully, he's taking some pointers from his brother on how to bounce back from injury. We definitely need more help here, but the cupboard isn't exactly bare any more, thankfully. |

I can't say I love that plan if it is indeed the plan. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I suspect they'll work Coleman at C to have depth after Allegretti, but I'm inclined to be believe they draft C anyway. They were in the race for Linderbaum, which suggests they're looking to improve there, not just add depth.
