No problem...BTW, I love that City. The riverwalk is a load of fun and quite relaxing.
So what's new in your life?
Yeah riverwalk was a lot of fun, got a little old after a few days though. We went during Christmas time Same old, working like crazy. It's exhausting. Looking forward to this weekend. Of course, I have to work and do some stuff around my apartment. But it'll be nice to just have some time to myself. You start your new job yet? |
Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
The 4400 returns this Sunday night on USA Network. I like that show. It's not jawdropping, just fun summer viewing.

In fact we are thinking of going there this weekend (it's about a 6 hour drive). Yeah, I started yesterday, and I'm in training. It's a lot more relaxed and fun. My boss is somewhat of a spaz. I swear she's on cocaine. |

Good evening jsarno. Glad the job is going well.

Good evening to you Lady Brave...and thank you. It's nice to be able to laugh at your job, and actually make an effort to enjoy it. So how are things with you? |
Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
Pretty good. I have an early staff meeting in the morning. Ugh...
One of our Majors is coming and I'm planning on cornering her about upgrading my position. That should be fun. |

Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
It's really not about money, but I could qualify for a 5% increase. It's more about the fact that I do the exact same job as three other employees and have trained two of them, yet I am a pay grade lower. Our policy dictates positions with like duties must be classified the same, so I don't see how they can justify why I'm classified lower than the others. I'm an admin. asst. to a Captain for pete's sake, yet I am the lowest pay grade employee in our department.

That doesn't sound right at all. Good for you for sticking up for yourself. Those that are content to sit on the sidelines all their lives are destined for failure. Go get em Lady Brave, I know you can do it! |

Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
Thanks for the encouragement. Funny thing is, this Major really likes me and calls me constantly for help and sings my praises to everyone. It's already been brought to her attention, but for whatever reason she hasn't done anything about it.
Anyone who knows me though, knows I won't sit quietly. I'm never disrespectful, but I have no problem speaking my mind. I worked in the court system 8 years and had to correct Judges and DA's now and then. So I'm definately not afraid to stand up for what I think is right. |

So, drama fan are you?
Major drama fan. I better be, since I'm the drama director at my church. I didn't get into it until about 10 years ago. I always considered myself a singer. I never thought of myself as an actor, but once I got the opportunity, it just came naturally. Of course I'm a ham anyway and I've always been good at mimicking people. |

Same, I did a lot of plays in high school and college, and in different theaters around DC. |

Looking back, I wish I had done that, but I didn't know I had the ability then. I've attended a few drama workshops and conferences over the years, but I still have a lot to learn. I'd like to do more improv stuff, but I find it somewhat intimidating. |

I was in an improv group in college. I thought it was intimidating when I started but it was a lot of fun. I, ironically, feel more comfortable in front of big crowds. Like if I have to give a presentation to 5 people or 500 people then I'd rather be 500. So being on a stage always felt kind of relaxing to me. Plus it was a good change from playing sports the rest of the year. |

I've performed in front of hundreds, maybe thousands of people and felt totally at home. However, performing in front of my family totally racks my nerves. There is something about being in character though. You become someone else and that gives you a freedom to do things you wouldn't do as yourself. |

Yes, way deep. I love roles you can really sink your teeth into. Although, I can't write a tragedy to save my life. I only write comedy sketches. You ever do any writing? Based on the stuff you've written here, I would think you'd be very good at it. |
Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
Not trying to pry into the conversation, well yes I am, but not in a rude fashion. I am more of the quick witted improv type. The only thing I know how to write is my name. Its time you should know, I have a pet monkey that does the keyboarding for me.

No but seriously, a couple of one-acts in high school. More like half-acts, the plays were very short. I've been fortunate to play some pretty deep roles. A lot of pretty lecherous people. That was kind of my niche for a while. And now I'll bring it back to the Redskins. One time I did this play in college and this girl I knew was dating this guy at the time and came with her and his niece (or little cousin, something like that, she was like 6 years old or something). So anyhow, after the show everyone is outside saying "Good show" and all that stuff. And this guy walks up to me with this little girl and says "Hey, great job. She thought you were really funny and she was wondering if you'd sign her playbill" So how does that bring it back to the Redskins? The guy who basically asked me for my autograph? Redskins kicker (at the time) Scott Blanton. Never did I think I'd see the day I'd be the one signing something for a Redskin |
