re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
i sold my 360 before i moved. madden 12 is the only madden i didn't buy since madden 02 on ps2. if my campaigns for work remain the similar, i'll be able to play video games while working. that would mean madden 12, then gta 5, and madden 13.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I just bought a copy of the original Resident Evil on E-Bay. Sucks that PSN only sells the dual shock version with the terrible replacement soundtrack. Either way I can't wait to take a trip down memory lane.

Love Mass Effect 3, but I would advise anyone thats held out this long to not buy it until Bioware releases a new, more acceptable batch of endings. Luckily for us Bioware is the type of company that would do that for the fans but until that time comes it's best to make sure they know the fans are serious about this issue concerning the games ending.
Part of that is me asking friends such as yourselves to continue holding out on purchasing the game. Sure there are loop holes and it's tough to put a 100% loved ending to a trilogy that's spanned 6 years of expiriences. It really bothers me how much people are complaining about this, even some going so far as to file complaints with the FTC which is just straight up ridiculous. I know everyone's entitled to their opinion but some people are talking that entitlement to absurd levels. I've enjoyed my purchase but to each their own. |

The ending itself might not have been bad in and of itself but they used it in the wrong game. Mass Effect is about creating your own experience and going up against impossible odds. So in theory if I wanted a feel good story my choices should have afforded me that opportunity, conversely if I wanted my story to end as a tragedy my choices should have allowed me to dictate as such. Furthermore the developers stated time and time again that there would be true and significantly different multiple endings and that the choices the players made would have significant consequences on the final result (theres a whole list on the Bioware forum of quotes from the producers all of which turned out to be virtually outright lies). Turns out the players choices had no impact on the ending and the only real difference in the ending is the color of the explosion. Not to mention a lot of people were robbed of a final boss fight. As for the FTC thing, sure it's going a little to far and hopefully nothing really comes of it but make no mistake the actual reasons cited, false advertising, are entirely valid. So in short it's not that the ending is bad the problem is it serves as virtually the only ending in a game that prides itself on allowing the player to shape the story. The good news for you is even if they change the ending you'll still have the current ending that you enjoyed plus more reasons to play again. |

I've got a bunch of old game systems I'd love to get rid of. PS1, N64, Dreamcast, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn and I'm not completely opposed to selling my Xbox 360 right now.

My original generation one broke constantly. I remember it broke on the day that Madden 12 came out, like the second that I put Madden 12 in haha. Went straight to the shops and brought one of those black slim ones, so much quieter. |
re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
are there any video/computer games that offer a realistic salary cap/franchise mode? i didn't buy madden 12 but i assume there still only 2 ways to structure contracts; back load using the bonus, or even steven using no bonus

When u sign free agents on Madden 12 you can set up contracts to be frontloaded, evenly distributed or backloaded. Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G. |

They revamped all the offseason stuff |
re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Hopefully they make this into a game one day. I mean Quantic Dream basically made the same claim during their tech demo with Heavy Rain and eventually made that into a game. Either way interesting concept.

How does everyone feel about the black ops 2 reveal? Personally the first one is my second favorite cod in the series and I like the 2025 time frame. Interested to seeing the new zombie mode as well.

I used to be a COD fan, until I took an arrow to the knee, at which point I spent my time playing Skyrim. It's funny to think at one point I had invested over 10 days' worth of free time playing MW2, and I still haven't bought MW3, and have no plans to either. |
re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I'm definitely way past being burned out on Call of Duty. I have MW3 but I might as well sell it now while I can still get something decent for it. I've barely played it.
Think I'm burned on shooters in general. Haven't even played BF3 much lately. At least Tryarch is trying something different by taking it into the future. Infinity Ward has lost their mojo I think. MW2 and 3 are the same damn games, it's like they didn't even try with 3. I have a buddy who's been in my ear about giving Skyrim a shot. Think I might try renting it and give it a whirl. |

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Skyrim is one of those games where you have to invest a large amount of your free time in it if you're ever really going to take advantage of what it offers. I spent a lot of time playing it too, and as soon as I was done with the main storyline missions I was done with it.

I would tend to agree, but my friend who is trying to talk me into trying it has the same taste in games as me. Shooters or sports games with some GTA mixed in. That's why I'm willing to give it a try. |

Well you did last longer in Rockstar's RDR then I did. Good god running my horse around in real time from Miss to CA made me want to go do my real chores. |
re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I would like to say one thing here.
F... Games developed for PCs and Consoles at the same time. I prefer PC gaming for the most part. Gaming companies have been trying to cheap out by making one version for both and the controls are jacked on a PC. We've already seen Skyrim (even though I didnt like it) and Diablo III butcher their controls for the console market. Im fine with them both having the game, but dont make us use the same types of controls and UI layout. |
