Personally, I'm done with Santana. Santana hasn't been worth two shits since '05.
Cooley is fine, but offenses can go only so far if their best receiving threat is a tight end who has trouble finding the endzone.
Whether you like Moss or not, he can still stretch the field. He seems to fit the D Jackson/D Stallworth mold that McNabb utilized well. Was is Cooley who had trouble finding the endzone or was it the every one of our players under Captain Slip and Slide? So now Cooley is garbage too?! Zorn never led us to 30 points in a year and a half. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Gtripp doesn't know how badly he's messing with himself. Campbell having to learn a new playbook? No problem for McNabb, who has plenty of experience in the Walsh O. Win for McNabb.
Campbell beating out McNabb short passing-wise? Uhhh, no. O that requires the QB to throw on the run or extend that play? McNabb wins by a longshot. We know he has the instincts to make plays on the move. Deep ball? McNabb Age? Evened out by Campbell lack of experience. Durability? When Fat Andy passes 50+ times a game, of course he's going to get his QB hurt eventually. |
Will this trade with Philly supplant the rivalry between the 'Skins and Cowboys? For years it seemed as if the "hate" between Dallas and Washington was nonexistent. This definitely makes the rivalry more meaningful, and perhaps for the first time in a long time, exceeds the Dallas game. I would imagine both games will be nationally televised. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
On second thought, if McNabb is here to be the starter (and I wouldn't assume otherwise) then I suppose we go with continuing our OL rebuilding scheme. I just still can't believe this.

IF we could somehow get a second rounder for JC I would be okay with this trade. Right now I feel like we overpaid, just because I can't see any QB succeeding with this o-line. |

If there's an owner stupid enough to pay a second round pick for Jason Campbell, it's Al Davis. |

Nah, I think this is THE new rivalry. It's not just about the media hype surrounding the trade, but the fans will be hostile as ever. This is going to be a serious grudge match. |

Doug Williams : att 213/380 56.1% 2,609yds 6.9ypa 15td 12int 10 sacks 77.4 rating
(Fewer Games, but he played one helluva superbowl!) If Monkeyboy hasn't seen those numbers since Doug Williams, he's not a real Redskins fan besides, Doug Williams didn't have any great seasons, but one good one with a great post season. Thats why he isn't in the hall of fame. Here are some QBs who, as Redskins, had comparable season: Rypien's best: att 249/421 59.1% 3,564yds 8.5ypa 28td 11int 7sacks 97.9 rating (plus a Superbowl Win) Brunnell's best: att 262/454 57.7% 3,050yds 6.7ypa 23td 10int 27sacks 85.9 rating Trent Green : att 278/509 54.6% 3,441yds 6.8ypa 23td 11int 49sacks 81.8 rating That being said, Statisticaly, Jason Campbell isn't bad at all. he ain't the best out there, but neither was Brad Johnson when he took his team to get a Superbowl Ring. |

Take your time and peruse some of the boards comments. There are a lot of guys that are not so sad to have traded McNabb to us. Hell they even think its funny we'd want him.

If they think Michael Vick can step in and make them forget about Donvonan McNabb, they are seriously delusional. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
My guess is that Shanahan doesn't like Campbell, doesn't like Clausen, and doesn't think McCoy will be available with the 37th pick. That's the only way this move makes sense to me, because while it unarguably makes us better next year, it does not lay the foundation for a legitimate championship run for the immediate future. We still need a QB for that - a legit franchise QB - and McNabb be not he. I find talk of Donovan giving us five or even three productive years wildly optimistic. I put the over/under at two. This is not Brett Favre who played basically his entire career injury free. McNabb is a guy whose career was in free-fall after suffering severe season ending injuries in 06 and 07; a guy whose physical condition has always been a question mark. A guy who will be playing behind a line without a single entrenched starter.
I don't support this move, although I am praying that McNabb forces me to eat a hot steaming plate of crow at some point. I like him fine as a guy, although as an Eagles hater I always enjoyed watching him invariably meltdown in big moments. Anyway, we'll see.... |

Yeah, exactly. I remember last season, at the beginning where it seemed like Santana Moss took forever to get into the game. In fact someone here remarked that they were glad when he finally realized that preseason was over. Then there was the 'shoe-shining' crap in Cincinatti ... that was where he lost me. Maybe it was Zorn's backward-moving, inept offense. But it just seems like it's been much easier for opposing defenses to scheme him out of the game. |

Those are monster numbers in Zorn's WC. I think he still has the speed to be effective and Shanny will maximize his ability. Let's just say, I don't see him running the 5 yard slant several times a game and on 4th and short consistently. |

Two sounds about right. Reid and the Eagles are obviously of the 'a year too early versus a year too late' line of thought. Let's hope Kolb bombs for them the way Shuler, Ramsey, and Campbell has for us. |

People said the same thing about Randy Moss as a raider. Look, A number one Receiver without a valid number 2 or 3 receiver is pointless. Santana can't do anymore than Randy in Oakland or Steve Smith right now without some other receiver to draw attention. Did you see how the Patriots' passing game slumped after Wes Welker got hurt? That playoff game was sad! Not one of their receivers made 50 yards without Wes spreading the field. Don't doubt Santana! Put another reciever out there and watch the magic happen! |

I think this makes the Skins-Boys a renewed rivalry for sure, and also creates a new tone to the upcoming Eagles-Skins games. But there's no doubt that Eagles-Cowboys has been the premier rivalry in our division in recent years. |

Well, the facts are, Santana Moss WITH Donovan McNabb equals a great combination. BUT.....all of this is for NOT unless we address the offensive line.

I have no idea I'm with you on this one! I'm kind of dumbfounded but I guess this means we're drafting offensive linemen in the draft. |
