Re: Training camp 2011 thread
They told me I would probably have the chance to switch numbers at some point, and this number became available,” Kerrigan said. “I wore [No. 91] in the Senior Bowl, so I figured I’d give it a go. It wasn’t that important, but I wanted something different than 53. I feel like this is more suitable for a linebacker, especially in the 3-4 defense.”

DS was probably asked which is why he answered and I for one am glad he came out in public saying he's happy with the direction of the team, because there are so many fans here who are not and would love to see either MS fail or DS get tired and fire him. Now if DS can only continue doing the opposite of what he's done in the past and not resort back to what has not worked in the past maybe then and the consistancy for more then a year or two will prove stability wins out not constant change. ^having said that I'm sure the negative nannies will try to find a crack or crevice in DS's speech to continue the "team is going down hill" and "MS won't be here after this year if he doesn't win a SB" mantra. |

Eric Schaffer along with Bruce Allen have IMO done a splendid job, so much so that DS has been relegated to an on-looker....."I'm all in" |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I'm just excited about football again. I'm excited about the Redskins. I think Allen and company have done a great job so far! While I don't expect a drastic improvement this year, I do think this team is headed in the right direction!

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Hasn't DS been an onlooker for some time? I really think his reputation, when he first took over the team, has been unfairly applied to him his entire tenure. Didn't he hand over the entire show to Gibbs? Except for when Gibbs and vinny disagreed on an issue he had the tie breaking vote, and from what I understand almost always sided with Gibbs.
I was under the impression that for the last 6-8ish years he's been more of a check signer than anything else. |

Will Montgomery getting into with Fletch and Rocky on separate occasions. I guess he and Fletch exchanged blows to the helmet and he and Rocky needed to be pulled apart by teammates. Getting chippy. I love it.

I was under the impression that for the last 6-8ish years he's been more of a check signer than anything else.[/quote] Possibly. It's hard to tell thru the Vinny/Gibbs years how involved he was. I'm sure JG's had final say, but they were all pretty tight. I do think DS has been more of an onlooker in the last couple years than before. That much is obvious. I'm good w/ our team. The Redskins aren't going to turn it around in 2 or 3 years. I'm really suprised at the amount of people out there that want to criticize MS and BA right now. I'm sure it's the vocal minority. Mostly radio callers and hosts wondering why we didn't go out and get a top QB and wondering what the FO is thinking. It's pretty obvious, they were thinking that we had an old team and it needs to be rebuilt. It's also obvious that they were trying to get as many picks in this past years draft and possible and they didn't think too much of the QB's on the board or they would rather focus on QB next year via FA or the draft. We're not going to be very good this year, and I'm ok w/ that. I know it's going to be a process. We'll be pretty good in a couple years though. Mark it down. |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Malcom Kelly may be done w/football. If he's cut he'll likely have one more stop until he's hurt again & then he'll be close to done. His knee has always been an issue, then his hamstring & now foot. He's got nfl size but his body just isn't cut out for it.

People have gotten accustomed to not expecting anything but failure from this franchise, so they act accordingly. Show the least bit of optimism and you're labeled delusional. Certainly, they have a little point being that the franchise has shown little or no progress, but eventually it's going to get it right. I think this is the best thing Snyder has done for the team since he's being the owner. I think it's shown in the front office, and it's just a matter of time until it starts translating on the field. |
