Janoris Jenkins, Byron Maxwell, they are good corners but they are not game changers.
Norman was FIRST TEAM ALL PRO. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
If we get him, just hope Norman performs better than Clements did. I kind of remember him being the top corner at one point and he went there and just did OK.
I LIKE that he does fit what we do, but I worry about the dynamic in the locker room when you're giving someone a giant contract. I guess we've earned enough goodwill extending our own that people wouldn't think "same ol' Skins" again. |

Norman is an emotional leader in that Panther lockerroom. No worries about fit. |

Ahh, love hearing that. If two people with deals ending this year are saying that, that's not a worry for me then.

Unbelievable folks still calling this a "Snyder" move. Get the f*ck out with that thinking...

Snyder moves have been going on for 15 years. For us to know without a doubt that RG3's release ended of that era will take more than 1 off-season under new management. For the record, I have long been saying Snyder was learning and moving in the right direction, and I am a big supporter of him owning the team, but that doesn't mean I think he has completely transitioned to owner in the booth. I will believe that when a coveted player is in our grasp, and we go a different way because the cost is too high. We have definitely moved away from Vinnie era FA and that's great. |

We get a top corner and all. But how will he adjust to the new settings? New defense? New players around him? This to me is the number one reason free agency doesn't work. You rarely get that peak performance of the players previous team. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Everyone on the radio and reading around here is worried that this will tie up too much money to pay our free agents next year (Breeland, Reed, Cousins, Gallette, Baker etc.) don't forget the cap will go up and we are going to lose probably Desean and Pierre, that is 20mm right there along with what we free up this year with cuts, there is plenty of money to go around.

This is the single thing that drives me the most nuts. So many folks say what about the cap??! Can we pay everybody?? We shouldn't do this, I'm worried. If you can't do the math then shut up and find somebody who can. When you work it out it's doable. I'm going to post something showing this when I can get a few free moments. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
And the reality is, one or two of our free agents next year are likely to disappoint us this year. Breeland, Reed, Cousins, Galette, Baker, somebody is not going to live up to being worthy of a new deal. If they all do, then we would have made a deep playoff run. But just law of averages, chances are one of those guys will walk because Scot won't like what he sees.
(please don't let it be cousins! |

that's complete BS...typical DC media. We have never had a problem with the salary cap even when Vinny was doing his dumb shit. Folks chill |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
My worries have nothing to do with the cap, but with an infatuated value for an above average player. We have survived the 36B cap hit fiasco, and were barely limited by it, and mainly in the second year. BA, and the contracts staff, know how to put together well managed contracts.
But, Josh Norman is not Revis or Sherman, he has flaws (they do too obviously), and we don't know how he will react once he gets a big contract. If we do it, I will be excited, but a nagging voice will say he ain't gonna live up to it. Hopefully one day that voice will go away. |

We may say the same thing about Norman after he is away from Carolina. One thing though that I guess I will believe is that SM knows defense, and how to build it. |

Yes. Such is the power of the McLovin. SM: [Waving hand] You don't need to see other teams. JN: [Staring blankly] I don't need to see other teams. SM: This is the team you are looking for. JN: This is the team I am looking for. SM: You can sign on the dotted line. JN: I can sign on the dotted line. SM: You're staying here. JN: I'm staying here ... I'm staying here. |

FWIW... a secret- service- style-convoy has more than 2 or 3 SUVs. Biden drove past me once and there were about 12 SUVs, as well as 10 MCO police cars |

Mom will get a $5 million dollar administrative assistant job. And Josh gets $10 million a year. Then there is no problem with cap space |

For me it's is he a 15 million a year corner? That's what it comes down to. Will we get the production needed for that kind of money. History shows that we won't. Not worried about re-signing our on guys. Also I don't think we can let go of both Garcon and Jackson. Who's going to play wr? We're probably going to need to bring one of them back. |
