Yeah it will definitely weaken, but it can only weaken so much between now and when it hits. It's pretty strong as it is now, and it's going to combine with another smaller storm coming from the west.

If this ruins Halloween my kids are going to be despondent. I've already got a contingency plan though - indoor scavenger hunt for candy. Kind of like a spooky indoor easter egg hunt but with clues.
What time should my kids be there?

Yea, we have 8 kids coming to the house to go out trick-or-treating. Dads take them out with a cooler full of beer in the wagon while the women cook some dinner. Guess we will have to drink beer at the house and do like your talking about. I am pulling the boat out of the water just to be safe.

Floating candy!

You know, that's a great idea. We already have a big basket of black and orange plastic eggs...don't know why but we do. We'll fill those with candy. Maybe I'll invite the neighbor kids too.

I really think the media, especially the Weather Channel is over-hyping it. They kept using the word "unprecedented" on TWC last night. Really? First time we've had a storm like this, really? A hurricane with snow?

I'll get ready anyway. I'll make sure my grill has propane and I have plenty I can prepare without the stove and oven just in case there's no power. There better be power Monday, I have a tech coming to change me over to a new internet provider.

I asked my boss if we still had to come into work if we were in the midst of a serious hurricane or w/e, and he said yes.

So we're having the Hurricane, and like two other storms hit all at once right? And all of that is supposed to cause them to get stuck on top of us for like five days?

Crazy.

Sounds like your boss is married to my boss.

I just e-mailed my staff telling them that if the storm greatly affects their area to not worry about coming to work. If the storm does hit the area, I hope the higher ups at UMD decide to close the campus.

things are pretty rough out here, i think it was only in the 50s when i left for work this morning. it's about 75 and sunny right now. i think it's "rained" maybe once a month on average since i've moved here. when it does "rain", it's less than one of those mist joints that they use at amusement parks on hot days.

i don't even know why they have weather people on the local news here

I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow and I'm a little afraid. People will probably be in there buying milk, eggs, bread and toilet paper.

if you wanted to stay home, that's cool (but don't expect to be paid unless you use a personal day)
if you wanted to brave the elements, that's cool too

now that weather isn't really a factor, i am able to work from home.

webex, skype, wlm, etc.

I'm making a run the the store to buy Sky Vodka, tonic water, beer, and some ice. I just vacume packed some steaks, pork chops, and some chicken brest in the freezer. Meat and alcohol what else does a man need. Ok, I'll keep it clean.

LOL. If your boss is only concerned about the bottom line, personal safety be damned, then it's very possible.

Just heard on the radio, 39 deaths already. Geesh.
