Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
This. Also yeah, it's starting to get annoying to hear all the bitching about players not here anymore. Let's focus on players who are here alright?
It's legit to complain about poor personnel decisions when good players are allowed to leave. Paying D. Hall huge dollars was a mistake. That money would have been better spent to keep Rogers, a far superior pass and run defender. He even started catching the ball at SF.
Geesh. Hall is the least of the defenses problem.
This. There is something fundamentally wrong with the secondary. Hall, Wilson, Gomes and Crawford were getting beat out there today. |
I haven't watched the replays yet but I wonder where the hell was the safety help over top on these long TDs?????? I am wondering if any of these were a result of Haslett's cover 0 (remember last year 3rd and forever against Dallas).
With every long TD pass there should be atleast 2 people on defense getting beat deep IMO- the corner AND the safety. Not just the corner in man IMO. What happens if he is in man coverage slips (like wilson did)? Throw cover 0 out of the playbook.
Yeah we aren't good enough for the cover 0 look for the most part. |
Fair point. Unfortunately Rogers wanted to get paid like he held on to those INTs.
The problem started when the Redskins decided to take their principled stand against their best defensive players like Rogers and Fletcher (even though that deal got done) and then went out and spent $12 mil in cap this year on Meriweather, ced griffin, and hall. There are still bad contracts here, but fewer good players. It's one thing to let Rogers walk in 2011 so the can get Brandon Carr in 2012. It's another thing to let him walk and then spend on Cedric griffin. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
And offensively I think it's wrong not to trust RG3 on 4th downs. That's cost us two weeks in a row
Sure, let's see his pro bowl performances in future games. I'll eat crow if that happens.
Even if he doesn't make the pro bowl he is still better than our #3 corner on this team - that makes him a starter here. |

Letting good people go/signing horrible players have been happening since the Casserly days. Why this is still surprising and upsetting to people now is mind-boggling to me. There's something wrong when you're longing for players of the past and not thinking the players you have are even worth the effort to try and support. |

But he wasn't catching the ball here. And again, it wasn't an either/or situation. They were prepared to keep both. But it seems like the players are always the good guys. Like guys like Rogers and even Fletcher can never be greedy |

Or Morris...the dude is always moving forward with the ball. |

Yup, no matter what, we haven't LOST yardage on any designed runs this year (that I can remember). If it's fourth and one, why not line up in shotgun, let him run, and if the defense gives it to him, throw a quick pass. |

Not even a 7th round pick for either. |
Who was covering Green all day? How did it turn out? How long is Hall been in the league and how long has Green been in the league?
I'm the original D-Hall hater up in this joint,(I think), but there were catches that Green made today that were of no fault to D-Hall. I mean this one in particular D-Hall was all over him and dude still made this incredible catch. You can't ask your DB to do more than that. The TD by Green? I can't finger that on D-Hall unless I know the type of defense they were in, but it probably was Gomes fault if I had to guess. Need to see it again. Now granted, D-Hall did get burnt a few times today, but that's not slouch that he was going against. In a couple years, he'll be this league's best WR. |

Never forget... Haynesworth. :woot: |
Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Several declining players on defense, fletcher is having big issues with pass coverage. Kinda funny watching Ray Lewis play right now, and he is nowhere close to the player he was a few years ago.
