Dude you'd be surprised. It's like all this closet racism exists that seems so implausible. Then a white girl marries a black guy and suddenly out it pops from no where. On both sides too. I've seen it close up from people and it astonished me. They try to hide it in a bunch of faux practical bull crap like "it's going to make your life difficult". I say whatever

That's such a nice commercial, can't believe people would be upset. This is why I hate close minded people.

As someone who is in an interracial relationship, I know people may pass judgment but we just keep on keeping on. Love wins over hate; always.

Good for you , I knew you would get it . Ben never ran a country ,he could say what ever he wanted without consequence .You might want to admit times are just a tad different now from back then .

Very good, so we agree times now are different then back then. We also agree that Ben didn't have the weight of the World on his shoulders and that he wasn't dealing with terrorist organizations and countries that might have bombs that can destroy countries or even the world, right?

I certainly hope you are wrong, but I fear you are right. Sadly, those saying to heed Franklin's advice will find little solace when our government no longer is [I]our[/I] government.

Not me. You underestimate the threats to our young country when Franklin said those words. They were not threats of terrorism from Afghanistan, of course, but the early USA was vulnerable in terms of security. We had no navy to repel invasion and a dysfunctional army, as the Whiskey Rebellion briefly showed.

Plus, just because Franklin was not President does not make his words prima facie untrue, as you have implied. A person can say things which are true even if they don't "have the weight of the world on their shoulders."

Franklin's words still apply. It is sad that some of my fellow Americans do not see this.
