Re: New Defensive Coordinator 2015
Dennis Thurman is the new DC with the Bills, We should give Jim Schwartz a call.
Not a huge fan of Schwartz personally, due to his childish sideline antics, however I can't deny the way that Bills defense has been playing lately. He's worth an interview for sure, but i'm not sold. I'd like to get a young defensive guy to pair with Gruden and have hopefully for the long haul, but i'd take a successful older coordinator (Phillips) just as easily. Only time will tell my brothers. Sidenote: Go BUCKS!! Sorry Ducks, Championships are for the big boys. At least one of my teams can deliver. :silly: |
Re: New Defensive Coordinator 2015
Schwartz would definately bring some discipline. Would not mind that at all.

On twitter, I keep seeing rumblings of Raheem being promoted.
Please no. |

Please no.
He can't even coach the DB's. It's one thing that we lack talent at DB but quite another that so many of them didn't seem to have a clue about their assignments. I'd be much more likely to fire him than to promote him after the way our DB's performed last season. The Skins need to keep moving in the right direction by hiring the right people. |

That was my thought. Hopped on twitter this morning. The first thing I saw was that the Bills were letting Schwartz walk. That made me very happy, I think he'd be the best thing next to Greg Williams. The 2nd thing I read is that we were interviewing Morris... That made me sad. I wonder if it was just the simplest way to fulfill the Rooney rule. I can't imagine handing the defense over to him. |

No Rooney rule for coordinator jobs. |

Interesting nugget:
John Keim retweeted Matt Maiocco @MaioccoCSN · 21m 21 minutes ago Vic Fangio could request release from 49ers if he’s passed over for H.C. job, as @MikeSilver reported. It's like he's trying to get fired at this point. Why not walk away with 12 million for not doing a god damn thing. Hell, that's better than what Shanny pulled off. edit: I say this under the assumption that he's making this choice. It very well could be Bruce Allen making this decision, in which case....why the fuck is he still here? |

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 50s50 seconds ago
When Raheem Morris interviews with #Redskins for their DC job today or tomorrow, that’s the last interview. Sounds like Morris or Joe Barry Both Morris and Barry are really crappy options. What happened to Wade? Edit: I see NC Skins beat me to it... |
Re: New Defensive Coordinator 2015
If they give the DC job to Morris then so be it. It wouldn't be my first choice but maybe he's got his own ideas on how things should be run. Are we really going to judge him on the secondary last year when he's working with guys like EJ Biggers and Ryan Clark?

Not just that. Look at his defense's rankings in Tampa... 2009: 27th in points, 27th in yards 2010: 9th in points, 17th in yards 2011: 32nd in points, 30th in yards I'd take Morris over Barry, but it's like the lesser of two evils. |

I'd prefer that they talk to Schwartz. |
