Sleepy needs to get more snaps. He may be the best playmaker the Skins have on Offence, and he's a part time player. Let's pull a Brandon Lloyd and trade him to a team that can make him the best TE in the league;) |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
This game was like all of our games this year, ugly. However I am glad it was an ugly win. HTTR!

I think Brandon Lloyd finally learned that there's more to the NFL than spectacular one-handed catches. I can't believe how much he has matured. |

It's not just Brandon Lloyd either, Mike Williams up in Seattle has absolutely resurrected his career. He has 52 receptions for 654 yards and 1 td in 10 games this season. Sure the 1 td isn't great but he has looked like a #1 wideout up to this point. I thought he was a massive bust but he is probably amongst the front runners for Comeback POTY with the season he's having. I didn't think it would take him 4 years to finally fullfill his potential but he has worked hard this offseason to come back. If he can keep his head straight he has the potential to be great for years to come. He's only 26 too so he's got plenty of years left. |

With McNabb's accuracy problems they really need to start consider using more 2 TE sets as a staple rather then a delicacy. Right now it's working like a dream for the Patriots and their Tight End corps is amateur hour compared to our guys. Of course the whole Shanahan system is based on a deep read first, short read last concept. |

I also don't get that with our typically weak offensive line, we don't use more screen passes and dump offs passes like we did today. If Shanahan wants to win now, I hope he's able to adapt his system to the strengths of this team. |

Are you sure about that? Hernandez is only 20 years old and he's looking pretty damn good. Of course he's got Brady but he looks like a future star. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
What I'm hearing per NFLN about Vince Young and Jeff Fisher is pretty interesting. After Vince Young threw his jersey and shoulder pads into the stands, the team was in the locker room and instead of showering and staying for post game interviews Vince Young got dressed and was walking out of the room when Jeff Fisher called him out and asked if he was walking out on his teammates, and Vince Young allegedly (keyword in this sentence) replied that he's not walking out on his teammates, he's walking out on you, you meaning Jeff Fisher. Then he walked out of the locker room, Michael Griffin chased him but was unsuccesfull in trying to get him to come back, then Jeff Fisher is at the podium and announces Young won't be starting again, healthy or not.
If that's the case than VY will probably be out of Tennessee in the offseason, it's either him or Fisher and I highly doubt it'd be Fisher. |

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Bud Adams, despite mostly being an idiot, does want whats best for his team, and rest assured he will not be happy with Vince Young's actions this time. Young's offenses get worse and worse each time, and this might be his swan song for his time in Tennessee.
Adams has alot of respect for Fisher. I suspect he backs his decision this time. |
One thing is for sure, it's not based on his wins or his passer rating. You have every right to dislike his style of play, however you have no tangible evidence to support any of your assertions regarding his ability to win games in the NFL. Your spiteful emotions don't qualify as facts.
Another thing is for sure, even when healthy and ready to go into the game his own head coach thought they play better with a sixth round pick. Jeff Fisher is spiteful as hell even with all the facts. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Not sure it was in Young's best interest to egg on the crowd when they booed him. He needs to have thicker skin
|
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
According to Fisher (if I recall correctly), he says Young never told him he was ok and ready to come back in

A sprained thumb that's going to require surgery and will keep him out the rest of the year. Can't defend VY's behavior at all yesterday. The guy needs to grow up already. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Young is slowly but surely working his way out of the NFL. He is a cancer to the Titans and it showed. On another note, anybody else surprised at how undisciplened the Titans looked out there? I don't recall a Fisher led team committing that many stupid penalties in a game before. Then again I have only seen them play a couple of games this year.
I thought we made it I was yelling yessssss we needed that win and it short. Damnnnn this suks
I did too. My son's birthday party was going on. My neighbor (Giants fan) and I were on the couch watching the end of the game. I saw the kick and jumped up, about to yell something great...and he muttered "it was short". Looked good to me...was straight and in the middle... :cheeky-sm I thought FOR SURE we'd lose after that. We ALWAYS lose when we miss an opportunity like that. Great game considering the losses we had. Is Rabach done for good? I REALLY hope so. I hate wishing injury on anyone, but he's just a giant liability that we can't seem to get rid of. Dunce steps on McNabb at least one EVERY GAME it seems...then his penalties...and inability to block ANYONE. :pffff::benched: Good win! We're back in it. Beat the Vikes next week and root for the Jags to beat the Giants (very possible). Then we'll be tied with the Giants for the matchup with them! SO GLAD THEY WON. My wife invited a ton of Eagles and Giants fans (even a Jags fan) to the party. I got to announce to my son across the room that the Redskins won for his birthday in front of all of them bums. :food-smil |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
So what's this I hear about Vince Young throwing his pads into the stands at some fans when he got pulled? Later last night I saw a crawl on the bottom of another network..."Coach Fisher says Vince Young is done as a starter whether he's hurt or not".
I was outside grilling for the 3rd and most of the 4th quarter so I came back to see some mystery QB playing. :D |

Can't defend VY's behavior at all yesterday. The guy needs to grow up already.
NFLN said torn thumb tendon last night. I've actually had that SAME injury...painful one. My tendon was ripped completely in half...could not move my thumb. It could not be repaired (one they're torn in half, they're done, re-attachments can be done though. I had to have that joint (one right at the web part of the thumb) fused with 2 screws. Now it's fine, but it was a long healing process. Your other surrounding joints adapt to make up for the loss of mobility in that one. There are 3 joints in your thumb...one that moves your tip, one by the webbing and the one no one thinks about down near your wrist. The middle one is the one involved. But he's done for the year for sure. |

Remember the debates ...who is better, Vince Young or Matt Leinart?
They matched up in a great National Championship game after dominating college careers. They have different skills sets but were both leaders in their own ways. The draft discussions were endless. There were people on the side of each guy, it was tough to choose one of the two. It's still tough to figure out who is better. :D |

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Definitely seems like Fisher has never felt comfortable/confident with Young as his QB, but it has nothing to do with race. Young needs a change of scenery and he needs to act, well act more like Donovan did when he got pulled two weeks ago. Wouldn't surprise me to see Fisher get a change of scenery as well. Might just be time for a fresh start in Tennessee. Wonder if Fisher will end up in Dallas?

At least Bush has proven that the Saints have some need for him. He did have a punt return TD in the playoffs last year and brings a valuable element to their offense. |

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Vince Young showed up at the team facility today, and was asked to leave by team officials, according to ESPN.
It sounds like Young really is done in Tennessee. This is the same thing that happened to the late Steve McNair, being barred from the facility while a trade was being worked out... |

I wonder if the Titans will just cut him...although I don't know how that works out with being on season ending IR. I'm sure there'll be a market for VY, dude just needs to grow up. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Would this open the debate that after this season do we go after VY or pay a competitve salary to retain McNabb? IDK what DM's contract really means but what does the MENSA WARPATH MEMBERS think?
|
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
My god in heaven i hope nobody here thinks we should pursue Vince Young.
McNabb is bad enough as it is at times, but to want a guy who is a total headcase on and off the field?? This is ludicrous. He can salvage his career if he gets help with his mental health, but please dont anybody consider bringing him here.... |

Personally it sounds like Bud Adams has a major hard on for VY, and would rather have him on the team than Jeff Fisher. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
Didn't the Titans get in trouble for banning McNair from the facility?
I thought it was some type of violation. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
I'd take a chance on Young. Anyhow he was asked to leave a team meeting since a) IR players aren't required to attend and in this particular team meeting the topic was VY. He stayed at the facility though as I understand it

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
According to Skipp Bayless (Yeah I know, he's a weenie), he said that Jeff Fisher hasn't liked Vince Young ever since Bud Adams drafted him over Matt Leinert. Jeff Fisher was dead set on Leinert, and he's been doing his best to jetison Young since day one.

I think Adams is the force keeping him in Nashville. AS you say JF would toss him at the first opportunity. I keep hearing they will likely work this out though I know not how. One of them won't survive this. However, both are under contract for the 2011 season....if there is one. Bud Adams is an asshole, but the owner nonetheless and can do what he wants................ |
Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread
The Vikings would be wise in going after VY, after the season imo...
He can maximize his scrambling ability on their Turf His skill sets would compliment the skill of A.Peterson,P.Harvin and the team. They could build the team around the abilities of V.Young and T.Jackson who by the same standards are very, very similar. Almost interchangeable if you will Not to mention a decent 3rd stringer in Webb as well. |
