Anything further on Jarvis Jenkins? I didn't see the play -- did it look grotesque?

Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread

I'll say it again--both QBs looked good to me. The crucial thing either way, IMHO, is if the running game works. If it does, our O will be fine. If not, then?
Ok. Thanks Smoot. Good strategy by the coaches I have to say. It will also be nice to get the guy back.
We FOR SURE need Buchannon to come back and be ready to play. Him and Barnes will make for a solid 3/4 tandem for the Skins dbs. I trust those guys, the other guys ehhhh not so sure about.

Kinda looked like a classic ACL, to be honest. But let's hope for the best.

When you watch the two of them, it seems Rex is working his ass off to get it done..and evade pass rush.....not so much. It looks like JB is a a natural more comfortable and like it comes much easier to him and cannot be denied...JB is much more gifted, athletically.

Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread
That too actually. Competition is good...but I just feel that if a QB performs against starters, he should get the nod. In the end, we have to trust Shanny I guess. But I would feel better to have seen Beck play the whole first half if he is going to be the starter.
Competition is the best way to amp of performance in the preseason. I like Beck, just think he is a 2nd stringer at best in our med to long term scheme of things. We draft a QB in 2012 I am sure. We might decide to resign Rex, especially if we make the playoffs somehow. If all this comes to fruition, depending on how the rook looks, Beck might be back to #3.

Hopefully it is just a sprain, but with big guys, it takes a while for them to return from those injuries.
But the most important question is...can he pull off the swinging gate play?! LOL.
Honestly I think that question needs to be expanded even further. Can he pull off the swinging gate after showing the formation to the defense then calling a timeout before actually running the play? If he can, then we know we're set.

Beck interview. Now that's what I like. Took advice from Steve Young about treating every practice as his game. AKA, take those practices seriously!!!!

Seen a lot worse. I'm going to guess it's not serious. He was able to walk to the locker room.

I know it is our second and 3rd stringers but Taylor is looking really impressive.

It may be the MS KS offense finally finding the right guy to run in their system, and getting it done on the cheap.

Athleticism doesn't alway mean the best QB. Hence, my Vick vs Ryan analogy.

I think you're dismissing Beck too quickly though. In the end, unless either QB blows it up (in a good way), these guys are just holdovers until we draft the QB of the future.

Damn, we are being destroyed by Tyrod Taylor.(kind of like how be carved the the Ratbirds' second stringer. kind of, except Taylor is better)

He's destroying our 3rd stringers at this point I think.

Damn, that guy Doss has now snatched two passes that sure looked to be INTs.

There are a lot of slow people on the defense for the Skins right now. People are cutting themselves all over the field.

Yes, I did get "Colt Brennan" and "Hall of Fame" into the same sentence.

Probably b/c there are talented young WRs that should get the opportunity over him. I'm sure there are a lot of teams that will need a veteran wideout before the season starts (or during the season).

So is it Chappel time? Or do we need to be under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter?

Okay, that's a good sign I guess.

So if the 1st string is Carriker, Cofield, and Jenkins; who's the first backup at DE?
Sidebar - kickoffs are absolutely useless and pathetic now.
Unless you have a kicker who can kick it very high and keep the ball around the 5 yard line, then it becomes pretty important from a field position standpoint. I personally like the kickoff return, I think it is an exciting play, but why didnt they just give the team the ball at the 20? They have basically done away with it by moving it up 5 yards without admitting they are doing away with it.
They could 2-3 on any team? Who hacked GT's account?
Well I don't know about 2-3 on ANY team (as opposed to each individual being at least a no. 3 receiver), but they definitely should be 2-3 on THIS team.

First stringers DEs are Carriker and Bowen, and Cofield at the nose.
