We need to improve our pass defence. Raheem Morris is a start. Getting rid of D Hall would also help. I just don't trust the guy to deliver when it matters.
Hall will work out with some adjustments. We all know Hall is a risk taker. We need to have Jenkins come back healthy and be able to help the DL getting a better rush on the QB forcing bad throws. Also we need to go out and pick up in FA or draft a bonified FS. One that can play sideline to sideline and break up passes or make the tackle. I don't have a problem with Hall as long as we have over the top help for him when he wiffs on the INT. |
Re: 2012 redskins
Hall at his best in Washington is a zone corner. we need strong man coverage corner
|
Re: 2012 redskins
While it would be nice to add to our CB group, I would rather see our FO address the Safety position. I think we can survive with our current CBs, but I feel that our safety situation is up in the air with Landry being a question mark and Atogwe not being able to stay healthy.

So when Haslett runs his zone coverage scheme and all we have are man-to-man cover corners we can be screwed? Either we get a corner good at both or we need to make sure the opposite side is not a zone cover corner so the FS can roll to whatever side needs the help when it's not their style. |

Thank You. I'm suprised at the fans saying we need a CB when we a ton on the roster. I'd rather the team go out and find a FS to replace Landry. To me Landry plays better at SS cause he just doesn't cover well. He's awesome on the line either stopping the run or rushing the QB. Doughty is a poor mans Landry. We need a real FS. |

I agree that the safety position is a higher priority. I look at those third and long cover zero blitzes that were ran and wonder how many were converted to first downs due to inadequate safety play. I also don't fault Hall for his performance in 2011. He should shoulder most of the blame, but the absence of saftey help and the front 7 allowing QBs ample time to pass make it difficult for most CBs to provide tight coverage. The fornt seven not getting pressure late in the game can be contributed to the offense not executing. Screw it I guess we need a QB... |

We need a real FS.
I think that Barnes has played better at FS than at corner. Maybe if we added more corners we could slide him over. |

If Janoris Jenkins slips into the 2nd round I say scoop him up.

I don't think they need him if Finnegan signs |

That's why I said 2nd round. Dre Kirkpatrick is in that same boat. Hell Cam Newton was kicked out of Florida.

I want us to keep Hall and pickup a strong cover corner to create a rotation. |

Re: 2012 redskins
Well, it's a bit early, but I think we've seen enough... so, who are the skins we expect back on the roster next year? Here's what I've got:
DL: Bowen, Cofield, Carrikker , Jenkins, Neild LB: Fletcher, Orakpo, Kerrigan, Perry DB: ??? ST: Rocca Need: QB/OL/DB/MLB QUOTE] What happened to: LB: Lorenzo Alexander Keyaron Fox Rob Jackson Marcus White DB: Kevin Barnes Phillip Buchanon DeAngelo Hall Byron Westbrook Travon Bellamy FS: Oshiomogho Atogwe S: Doughty Dejon Gomez SS: Laron Landry DE: Kentwan Balmer Darion Scott This is why I'm so confused as to why we need to draft positions like CB/DB, and LB's because thats where we are heavy player wise. On Defense alone I'm more concerned about FS. Landry and Doughty were better SS's then any other position. Gomez was not too bad and after having one year under his belt might do better. Was he used as a FS? Atogwe.... what can I say? maybe he does better in his second year in this scheme. IDK. I think we could lose Hall and only need to pick up maybe 1 CB, we should get a bonified FS also. I think the LB's and DL are not in a bad situation. Especially with Jenkins hopefully coming back healthy. That alone is like having a draft pick this year. I see our needs as: QB, WR, FS, CB, OL. |
Re: 2012 redskins
*DREAM SEQUENCE* We get PM RGIII falls to us at #6, Denver calls at 25 would you take RT Ryan Clady and there #25 for our #6 remember it's a *DREAM SEQUENCE* would you pull the trigger.
|
Re: 2012 redskins
I would do that in a heartbeat if they traded us Clady for their 25th overall pick...

Pretty much, Brandon Marshall for a 3rd or 4th? Yeah right. |

well, that, and i think we're bringing michael westbrook back on as an enforcer

Dan Snyder of the Washington Redskins has plenty of room to get quarterback and receiver help, thanks to $47.56 million of cap space. |

Hard to imagine the Skins having that much Cap room. If BA is responsible.... he's doing a great job!

We'd be getting a top 5 NFL LT in Ryan Clady and moving Trent to RT..he isn't a scrub by any means. |

i agree, I would pull the trigger so fast if Denver would but too bad they have a brain. Im concerned about safety if we let LaRon walk which i dont want but seems likely, who steps in at SS? I would be very interested i signing Branch from oakland. and what about FS? atogwe wasnt even a starter at the end of the year! I like how Gomes played but Im not sure if i trust him starting just yet and I like Doughty but hes just always a step behind. |

I agree with all the above. I like Landry but I say its 51-49 leave/stays in washington. And yeah, what if/what do we do if he leaves? We already don't have good safeties with him, now imagine without him.. I love Markelle Martin from OkSt, but I dunno if he'll be there in either the 2-3 AND if we even have that pick should we trade up. Branch, I don't know much about, but Oaklands secondary is pretty crappy so I'd be skeptical. Chances are he stays in oakland, because we know how much they over pay. And yeah, OJ sucks/ is injury prone. He needs to be cut, and we should re-sign LaRon. I would also consider moving Barnes or Hall to FS... |

Re: 2012 redskins
i hope laron signs a one year deal and we give him one more chance to show what hes got. If he does leave I do not want Doughty starting, he is a sure tackler but not much else, always just a step behind. Gomes had a good rookie year but not enough to start imo. we NEED a safety more than a corner, a safeties are very important in our defense and im not sure how we are going to fill these potential holes either FA or draft? any names or rumors out there about possible free agents we are interested in? i would like branch from oakland or griffin from ten

However, I would rather draft Ryan Tannehill in the first round than draft Brandon Weeden in the second round. We need a quarterback so badly that it's a shame. |

Good read here. I really hope the Redskins can bring back Carriker. You can never have too many good DEs, especially in the 3-4.
