Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
The WFT DL is going to be truly awesome, especially once Chase gets over his hip issue. He looked very good today in practice. When you look at the talent on the DL and our depth, and finally our DC who will be instructional and has developed great defensive ends (Van Miller and Mack) on other teams.

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
So any of the "we should have traded Kerrigan!" crowd glad we still have him as a backup if Chase can't go Week 1?

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Im confused and surprised the NFL has not weighed in on this yet. I imagine, perhaps, Goodell wants to wait until the last moment to make a decision when the most information is available to him but .....
1. Are fans going to be allowed into games? 2. If so, wouldnt that create an uneven playing field for teams that cant have fans and teams that can have fans? -------------------- “Absolutely. The benefit of crowds are important to sports," Jones said. "On the other hand, is it possible to have great games without it? You saw one the other night in basketball. But it's fair. We've made up our minds this thing isn't going to be one way or another. Surely, about evening up everything that could be competitive, you've got to have to adapt to the virus. Attendance being one of them. To the end that we can get fans enjoying these games with an experience similar to the thing they've come accustomed (to) is a big step in the right direction." Jones said that Gov. Greg Abbott has OK’d having fans in attendance this season and that they plan to utilize all that AT&T Stadium has to offer to do so in a safe way. Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that lack of consistency is “ridiculous” and creates an unfair playing advantage. "I think it’s honestly ridiculous that there will be, on the surface, what appears to be a playing field that’s like that, inconsistently across the league with the different away stadiums," he said during a press conference Monday, according to WGRZ. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/cowboys-jerry-jones-fans-attendance-gov-abbott-ok Goodell ... i think you need to make a decision on this. Soon. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
#Eagles left tackle Andre Dillard will miss this season with a biceps injury suffered in practice today, sources say.
@RealDGunn first on the injury earlier. Tests revealed the team’s fears were warranted. Surgery needed. Tough one for last year’s first-round pick. |

Yep. Now they're looking at starting ancient Jason Peters at LT, who they let go and re-signed out of desperation to play GUARD when that starter was lost. He wasn't good enough to keep at tackle before, but now he's the man again. I REALLY HOPE CHASE YOUNG IS GOOD TO GO WEEK 1! |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
The Jaguars have waived RB Leonard Fournette, the team announced Monday.
The move ends a three-year run with the Jags in which Fournette rushed for 2,631 yards and 17 touchdowns. Holy balls...but with Jay, Fournette is like an AP style back. Jay wanted to cut him last year |

They have a 2 first rounders...2 second rounders...for next years draft. Trevor Lawrence ammunition |

Trevor Lawrence ammunition
With a SH!% team around him. They do have decent WRs...probably one of their few strength positions...until Chark needs paid then he's probably put on a bus too. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Jags are clearly looking to Tank
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
honestly this is the perfect year to tank.
No fans allowed in most games Covid season The Jags are already bad so why not? Trevor Lawrence is sitting there also |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Losing for Lawrence? Lousy for Lawrence?

Yes. Yes they are. I remember a Monday Night Football game against the Eagles in the late 80's early 90's, where their D knocked out all of our QB's, and Brian Mitchell had to come in and finish the game. Not that I personally advocate injuring someone, but those O-Line issues make me think that payback may be coming .... Our D Line is going to smack some folks square in the face. |

Trevor Lawrence ammunition
It may not be the best year to stock pile draft picks, given the state of college football. Trevor Lawrence is a no brainer. But I bet the bust rate for the next NFL draft is higher than usual. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Sounds like the ravens had a pretty competitive intra-squad scrimmage game this weekend. Was hoping the Skins would do something like that .. a mock preseason game of sorts.

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Chargers S Derwin James needs surgery to repair his injured meniscus and will miss 6-8 months, according to Josina Anderson.
James is considered one of the most talented defensive backs in the NFL, but this injury likely sidelines him for the entire 2020 season after playing in just five games in 2019. James also missed time in college with a knee injury. The Chargers simply cannot catch a break with injuries, as every season seems to include major time missed by significant pieces. There is no true replacement for James' versatility, but Desmond King could receive the first opportunity. Joe Burrow's first game as a professional is becoming more intriguing for fantasy purposes. Derwin James is Jordan Reed....injury prone as hell |

If he is personally against masks, thats cool, just wear one when indoors at public places so it doesnt become a "we" problem. edit - he said he wears a mask out of respect for others. Thats all anyone asks. When in public, wear a mask. not hard. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Lol. That aboy Kirk. You just made at least half of all NFL's fans heads explode.
Can't wait for the apology tweet tomorrow after everyone goes bananas. |

Goodell ... i think you need to make a decision on this. Soon.
“We do not believe it’s a competitive advantage,” Goodell said Tuesday. “We discussed it very early on with our Competition Committee and with our clubs. We do not see that. We obviously have varying capacities across the league. We want to invite our fans in if we can do it safely and we can do it with the full support of local officials. We think our fans want to come the stadium.” https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/texans/article/NFL-says-no-advantage-for-teams-with-fans-in-15532777.php I think itd be pretty cool to be at a game limited capacity. |

Just comes off selfish. And that's been a big problem of this pandemic. Too many people don't see the big picture and don't care about anyone other than themselves. Sure Kirk, you may be just fine. But it's the people you could spread it to that's the problem. |

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Not that I would ever rely on Kirk for anything medical, part of the problem here is that such comments trivialize the risks to us all, and some might even think be influenced by these comments. It’s idiotic. Let’s see if he changes his tune if someone he knows or cares about gets Covid. How about he agree not to seek medical care if he gets it? Stand by the courage of your moronic convictions, Kirk.

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Patriots just released Mohamed Sanu, I hope Redskins will look into him. I think Sanu is better than Imman.
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Terrible trade by Belichick regarding Sanu, yet nobody is really going to kill him over it like they probably should. He gave up a 2nd rd pick to get 26 catches, 207 yards and 1 TD out of him.
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Sanu is done
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Haskins is real close to Sanu, they worked all off season together so I could see them picking him up.
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Seahawks have resigned Gordon on a 1 year deal. Can't help thinking that will be a 1 week or maybe as much as a 1 month in reality. Wish him well as a person, but with his track record...
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Looking at our final roster with only 5 WRs, and only 2 that we know can play in McLaurin and Sims...we need a proven vet WR, even if he's lost a stop. Hopefully Gandy-Golden is who we hope he is, but he's still an unproven rookie. Same with Gibson in his role(s).
I think Sanu would be a good pickup. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Eagles just gave Nate Sudfeld a guaranteed contract. Only $1.1 mil but all guaranteed now.
Eagles also signed our recently-dumped TE Richard Rodgers, likely just to scout us. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Both Aqib Talib and Ryan Shazier retired today.

The Steelers really did right by Shazier, kept him on IR for 2 years so he could become vested in the pension fund. Very classy move and setting the standard for career-ending injuries. |
