Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Wentz’s 650 passing yards rank second amongst quarterbacks.
He’s tied for first with seven touchdown passes. He's sixth in passer rating (100.3). He's eighth in yards per attempt (7.5). He's fifth in passing first downs (35). He's the only player (quarterbacks and all) with 10 plays of 20+ yards through Week 2. He has the third-best passer rating on deep passes (20 or more air yards). With his six touchdown passes through two weeks of the season, it is the first time a Washington quarterback has had six or more touchdown passes through the first two weeks of a season since Mark Rypien did so in 1989. Wentz is the first player since QB starts were first tracked in 1950 to have 300+ pass yards and 3+ pass TD in each of his first 2 starts with a new team. I know it's only two games, but we couldn't have done much better with the current QB/OC duo. Just have to fix the defense...
Guys like you are the reason stripper put glitter on their tits. All garbage stats against garbage teams. I hope I’m wrong but I expect as many INTs as TDs against the eagles. With zero threat of a run game, Eagles are going to fingerblast Wentz on passing downs. |

It beats all the bitching and complaining you and some others do. It's not easy being a fan of this team, but I am, and have been for a long time. The day I solely focus on the negatives is the day I walk away...probably never. I guess you'd be happier if he was last in every category. Might help validate some of your whininess. "garbage stats against garbage teams" = garbage statement. Oh, and for the record...glittery tits are just fine with me. |

Definitely in the first half. |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Garbage stats?? We won the first game and if the D could have done there job we had a good chance at Detroit .. how the hell is wentz putting up garbage stats??

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I think all of us here are smart enough to know that 2 games really doesn't mean much. There are a lot of positives w/ Wentz but also plenty of negatives.
I listened to Cooley this week and he gave Wentz a C-. Basically said there was a lot of stuff he missed but Turner didn't help him too much in the first half. I want to see Wentz go out there tomorrow and dominate the game, 2017 style. I think he is still capable of being that guy. |

We all need to do a D.C. trip for a game. But instead of giving Snyder money, we go to a strip club and throw money at titties, glittered or not, depending on preference. |

The o-line surely didn't do Wentz too many favors, but Wentz's lack of pocket awareness and propensity to hold on to the ball created about 3 or 4 sacks. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I didn't watch the game live, thank god, and probably wont look at the highlights. Every player has weaknesses in their game, we know Wentz (and pretty much every QB) is better when given time by the OL. Fact is coaches and FO need to set him up to succeed not throw him to the lions(eagles) and leave his weaknesses exposed. They invested a lot in him, but they went cheap on the oline in the offseason. Total FO & coaching failure. Offense could have been, may still be, good but we sunk our cap dollars into overrated CBs

This is about where I'm at. I was concerned about the O-line going into this game, more concerned than I was about the defense, which actually played well early on. There were a couple times where he held on to the ball too long, but that O-line was pretty terrible in pass protection last night, probably worse than what he had in Indy. If this is what the O-line is moving forward, ST needs to come up with a better plan, and should have made the necessary adjustments earlier in that game yesterday to give them a chance. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
The OL sucked yesterday but Wentz also cant hold on to the ball for fucking 4 seconds, that's common QB knowledge

https://twitter.com/MarkBullockNFL/status/1574481422383038478?cxt=HHwWnIC-6d-g19krAAAA
I'll provide you guys with Mark Bullock's wrapup of the 9 sack analysis:
Overall it was a collective failure from the offense that resulted in the nine sacks from the Eagles. There were some sacks that resulted from predictable play calls and no receivers getting open, others were the result of the quarterback not getting rid of the ball or stepping up enough to avoid the edge rushers. But the offensive line as a unit was clearly not good enough throughout the game. Cosmi struggled at right tackle, as did Norwell at left guard. Turner got beat a few times early on in the game at right guard and Schweitzer has some struggles at center too. It was a poor performance across the board from a unit that has been a strength of this team the past few years. Offensive line coach John Matsko and needs to work with Scott Turner to clean up a number of issues with this group after a poor start to the season. They’ll need to do so quickly too, as next week Washington faces Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys.
TLDR: Total offensive failure, from the offensive line, to Wentz, to Scott Turner = 9 sacks (first 8 from 4-man rushes). Matsko has work to do. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I guess losing Flowers and Scherff hurt more than we thought it would. Going to be a long season.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
We're gonna get sacked 9 more times by Dallas. It's going to be ugly.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
After watching the MNF game, my faith in winning is even lower now against Dallas. Rush looks good enough and their D is gonna beat the shit out of our OL.

If you look at our schedule coming up most of the teams we would have a shot against we play on the road. We just might be starting down the barrel of a whole bunch of L’s. And it’s probably good, because another 7-10 season might not get this staff shit canned. Right now I honestly think we win 4-6 games. 6 might be wishful thinking. |

To many OL guys getting beat 1 on 1 quickly. Bu this was the concern going in ... O line has benefited from a quick passing scheme and screens for 2 years now. What happens when they have to hold up for longer? What happens when you bring in Wentz, who gives us the down field ability, but also is not an ideal quick pass QB? -------- I thought the pass pro was going to be an issue ... BUT I DIDNT EXPECT IT TO BE AN ISSUE AGAINST A 4 MAN FUCKING RUSH! If we cant block 4 guys ... you cant run an NFL playbook. They get to drop 7 in coverage taking away the quick hit routes and get pressure within 3 seconds only rushing 4??? |

I think past few years hes been freelance .. used to be with the Athletic and Wash Post. Now the guy has been trying to make a buck last couple of years. I imagine being a sports writer is a tough business to make consistent decent money. I dont think the Bullock household is bringing in the dough. I really like his breakdowns, does a good objective job. I did the substack thing last year really just to toss him a few bucks and try and help with his subscriber numbers. |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I have to say after hearing how Wentz always thought his shit doesn't stink he has been putting the blame on himself in the post game interviews of course when you play that poorly you truly do have to own it.

It is an emotional plea and not analytical but worth a read. I am not sold on starting Heinicke but if we know for certainty Wentz is not the QB for the future and the season is a wash I have no problem playing him. I'll watch the Commanders lose regardless who the signal caller is. |

Agreed. Wentz is shell shocked, he has no time to throw and is anxious in the pocket. We gotta completely rebuild the interior of the Oline. Roullier coming off a second major leg injury. Both ex Panthers guards Norwell and Turner are just awful. Wes Schweitzer now injuried…not good folks. |
