Good sign imo. Really think Ron would pull a coup getting him here.
Side note…listening to the Sheehan and Thom podcast about this subject after work now, these guys are whining like little bitches about EB being the choice. Like it’s a problem he would chose here. Sometimes those two are so miserable
Very good sign, and wtf could someone possibly say bad about Bieniemy replacing Scott fucking Turner? Jesus some people are never satisfied. |

JP and the Washington Football Talk guys are acting too much like fans and less like journalists. I really find myself skipping some of their segments. Thank God for John Keim, his podcast is super awesome, extremely informative an objective. |

I sometimes listen to JP & BMitch in the mornings while I'm working. BMitch keeps it real for the most part.

For some reason a lot of people in the local media act like they've never heard of coach speak. JP for example keeps harping on the RR comments after Turner was fired, about wanting to run the ball more (which was purely coach speak) and how that contrasts in hiring someone like EB. I'm like, yeah you can say all about running the ball, but if a talented coach becomes available, you take that opportunity. |
Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
we're lucky anyone wants to be here with the ownership situation and unproven low-round qb on deck (with a bad OL). We paid the Gibbs staff (w/ saunders/grilliams) billions of dollars, so I sure hope the salary isn't a hangup. No cap impact, so who cares?
on the plus side, always a chance the ownership situation could give you a HC shot, and the WRs/RBs are actually good (as well as the defense, which means you can win without having your inexperienced QB throwing 400 yards a game). |
Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
If Skins fans or commentators are bitching about possibly getting a 2 time super bowl champion as an O.C., I don't really know what to say. Bienemy as O.C. would be an absolute coup for us. It's just asinine that people wouldn't accept him. Doesn't have to be your No. 1 option, but to act like it's a bad hire is ridiculous.
Andy Reid is a HOF lock. No way he keeps someone around for no reason, and no way Bienemy didn't learn an absolute shit ton from Reid on how to run a team, let alone to call an offense. Hire that man. |

We’ve had countless moves over the years that looked like slam dunks and ended up being complete duds. If we hire him I’ll be in wait and see mode. |

If he was hired for HC, I'd be more concerned with the stuff you mentioned. But I think he's absolutely earned the right to be hired somewhere as an O.C. And we aren't going to get a clearly better candidate. Wait and see makes sense. I think that makes sense with anyone that comes here. Definitely no guarantee he will be a great O.C. But a worthy bet imo. |

Plenty of legit gripes to have about RR, wish they’d move on from some throwaway comments in a presser. That said RR would benefit from saying less at times, he definitely likes to hear himself talk. |

@EBJunkies Obviously looks like this is going to happen. This is a bizarrely insane upside down inverted lateral backwards move by Bieniemy IMO. But a great get by Ron. Have to give him credit. So funny to watch the narrative change….it’s unjust that EB can’t get this or that job to there is some serious questions about EB, what kinda of person is he that he would want to come to Washington?

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
If it comes down to Roman or EB it's not even close. I'm taking EB for this offense all day. You have 3 wr's, plus Gibson and a couple TE's that can catch the ball. Why on earth would you even talk to Roman or Lynn? Ron should be begging EB to come here. Wr's can't wait to get away from Roman.

Roman is good with running QBs but Howell is a passer. We need EB |

Howell SZN Baby!!
I love this move! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Howell WILL be our future QB - he obviously has a lot to do to prove that he is a franchise QB. But given the position this team is in right now, Howell is the best option for us. The Dallas game is a very small sample but I absolutely loved his accuracy. He throws ball into the area that allows WR to have good YAC, and yet Howell and the WRs had only one week to practice together prior to the game.. I cannot wait to see how Howell is after a full offseason training with the WRs. |

QB1 in Feb is way different then QB1 in Sep. Plus he is QB1 by default we have no one else under contract (obviously CW will be cut) |

i bet EB wanted the Ravens job; and now him and the walrus are sitting around at a Johnny Rockets eating a triple decker cheeseburger and EB is crying that WAS sucks and the walrus is saying hey man its a lot of money just suck it up

100% Give me the guy who’s worked under Reid for 9 years, the last 4 as OC. The guy who’s had an opportunity to mold the best young QB in the game. A balanced running and passing attack. Multiple SB winner It’s not a comparison imo. It EB and not close. |
Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Roman would take our run game to another level. A very high level in fact. He’s a much more known commodity than EB, we still have no clue what he did exactly in KC and how much of their success can be credited to him.
I’ll be fine with hiring EB, but to scoff at Roman is a little short sighted to me. |

@AlbertBreer · 26m Bieniemy's in the building now—dressed more casually than he was on Thursday for his interview, and meeting with front-office folks. As we said earlier, today's more about what his offensive staff would look like and the contract. Lots of people there assuming this gets done. If he's still there today in coaches gear its a wrap folks. LFG!!! |

EB comes from a team that just won the SB with a 7th rounder RB leading the back for a team that rushed for 158 yards. Roman comes from a team that has had a TON of success. |

I think Roman was fired because he couldn’t get a passing game going. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good running game and think you need one to be successful in the league today, but it just seems Roman is limited thru the air. Roman seems very much like he needs a system with the right parts to get going, i don’t think the Skins have a couple years to build it. Ron needs it now |

Good points, but given our potential limitations at QB, having someone that can get the most out of running game to overcome any passing limitations would be huge. I also know this is a chicken and the egg situation, as in was Baltimore's passing game lacking because of their misfires at drafting WRs or was their running game so prioritized that they couldn't develop pass catchers. But, our pass catchers are significantly better than any pass catchers Baltimore has ever had while Roman was there. So he'd have a better group to work with. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
If we had RG3 in 2012 then yeah Roman makes total sense. But for the guys we got, he makes no sense. None what so ever.
If we had one of the top QB's, even if we still had Kirk, along w/ Jay running the offense, an improved line, this offense would be so explosive. |

Limiations are over now bro... (I'm just hoping)
You'll still have limitations with a 2nd year QB with just one start under his belt. Helpful to keep pressure off Howell with a strong running game. That's how Seattle helped Russ be successful and be able to develop in his first few years. |
