Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
Republicans and Child welfare......or not.
https://news.yahoo.com/sarah-huckabee-sanders-paves-way-170820213.html Sarah Huckabee Sanders Paves Way for Child Labor Exploitation The law means the state will no longer have to verify the age of children under 16 before they take a job, which means 14- and 15-year-olds would be able to work without a special permit. The state’s Republican-controlled Senate voted 24-9 last Thursday to send the bill to the governor’s desk. “There is no reason that anyone should have to get the government’s permission to get a job,” said state Sen. Clint Penzo, who sponsored the bill. The new law comes as the Biden administration promised to crack down on child labor violations days after a New York Times investigation exposed the extent to which migrant children are employed in dangerous jobs across the United States. Child labor violations have quadrupled since 2015, according to data from the Department of Labor. Arkansas isn’t the only state that wants to make it easier for employers to hire children. Iowa, Ohio, and Minnesota are also considering bills that would loosen restrictions. The bill in Iowa would allow 14-year-olds to work in meatpacking plants. The Department of Labor announced last month that Packers Sanitation Services had paid $1.5 million in fines for illegally employing over 100 children to clean meatpacking plants on overnight shifts. |

Maryland bill would prevent anyone under 25 from being charged with felony murder Please tell me this is fake news?
I'd like to say it is but it isn't. It should be known that they can still be charged with murder just not felony murder. I'd like to see statistics as to what percentage of murders in Maryland are committed by 18-25 year olds. My guess is it is significant. |
Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
Aren't all murders felonies? I believe a felony is anything punishable by more than 1 year of prison time.
|
Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
The way I read it is a felony murder is a murder while a felony was being committed i.e. robbing a bank and then someone getting killed by being hit by the getaway car. I might be wrong. Regardless I think this bill is a bad idea.

+1 bad idea. I'm all for reform, but not for violent offenders. |

Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger seem like real cool fellas.

Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
Obama, I obviously don't love his politics, but I'd absolutely love to go out and get drunk with him. Never really heard of him before he ran for President, didn't love him as President, but he definitely seems like a guy that could take some shots, chug some beers, and be fun to hang out with.

Deborah Wasserman Schultz = Cuntbag Deborah Wasserman Schultz = Ugly as sin
Lol…looks like G1 is about to appear with another episode of “Words Hurt”. Legal baller Johnathan Turley summed it up best with what took place today with Taibbi and Shellenberger: I never thought I would come to see this day when Democrats trash journalists for seeking to disclose government censorship work and pressing them for their sources and confidential information. They have accused these two journalists as threatening the safety of others by disclosing government censorship efforts. It would all make Joe McCarthy blush. Bad look today by dems |

Still think we need at least 4 parties or 0 parties. Give me a liberal, democrat, republican, conservative 4 party system or give me 0 parties. And we're all "independent". |
Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
Nikki Haley and Andrew Yang should run together. That would be an interesting experiment.
