Re: Let It Snow
Looks like in DC and directly around it are looking at about a foot for sure, with winds tomorrow gusting up to 40mph. Awesome. FML

Re: Let It Snow
Just looking at a radar map. Not sure, but it looks like Wash. - Bmore region may luck and fall into one fo the gaps in the front.

Re: Let It Snow
I just ran out and bought Bioshock 2, so I'm pretty much ready for the snow.

NWS - National Mosaic Enhanced Radar Image: Full Resolution Loop
Sadly, I think there is a high pressure that will push the bigger body over us, and then a secondary low which is supposed to form over the atlantic which will fill in any gap that might hit us That's a lot of lows headed our way :-( |
Re: Let It Snow
From the Wash. Post Capital Weather gang:
We're not looking for a mix with freezing rain, so if you're worried about that, don't be. And yes, the other forecast outlets seem to be backpeddling on their accumulation forecasts, largely because they went 'all in' last night. You'll remember that we resisted that move yesterday, because we weren't confident enough that the high totals would verify. Either that or we're stubborn, but in a good way ;) There is still considerable uncertainty with this event, and it will be interesting to see how close to DC the higher end totals wind up. A lot will depend on exactly where the coastal low intensifies. Stay tuned... Posted by: Andrew-CapitalWeatherGang | February 9, 2010 1:03 PM |

FD - no, that is essentially the same shot taken at 2 different times. You can barely make out our Mountaineer in the 2nd picture, and it hadn't moved from the night before. As far as whatever snow we get today and tomorrow, not much we can do but hanker down and hope the power doesn't go out. |

(By the way, can you come over and help shovel?)
Dad always said don't trust the weathermen, show me the map! of course he said yesterday that this will be a bust so what do I know. I think the rule of thumb on shoveling is every day in Phoenix = 2 extra days of shoveling here, so it's all yours bro! edit: man I missed the perfect response - I'm not a weatherman, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night. drats |

Re: Let It Snow
Started sticking less than an hour ago, and we have a good half inch already. Have seen several plows go by, so we'll see how well they keep up with it.

Re: Let It Snow
I'm on the DC-MD line, and it's coming down here now as well. Has been for about an hour.
Here we go again. |
