Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
A couple thoughts on yesterday:
1) really, really cool what Alex Smith did. Are those throws representative of the "real" Alex Smith, able to match Drew Brees shot for shot? No, of course not. But that's why sports are great. 2) The Broncos defense was really overrated all year. It wasn't all thatgood under Kyle Orton, it really wasn't much better for Tim Tebow in the regular season, and it got totally torched in the postseason. Even after they got Elvis Dumerville back, it was really only just the Redskins defense dressed in blue. Denver had a lot of good fortune all year, but the only difference between the team that began 1-4 and the one that finished 8-5 was play in the clutch.
As much as I love Drew Brees, I found myslef rooting for Alex Smith yesterday. The guy defines perseverance. |
Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
That is true.... but it really wasn't being enforced until Bill Polian and the Colts started crying to the NFL after one of the championship games (03 or 04) where their wr's basically got mugged.
You need to go back a few years and try to remember how much the NFL was screaming when Brady got hurt, result was the "the Brady rule" |
Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
Boy, who woulda thought before the season started we'd be talking about Alex Smith and the 49ers being one win away from being in the Super Bowl? The NFL never ceases to amaze me.

True. I remember when Carson Palmer got hurt before that and they started that rule... and then after the NFL poster boy got hurt they REALLY started enforcing it. It must suck to have to play defense in the NFL nowadays. |
Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
Jacoby Jones is a friggin idiot.

Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
wow. texans punt returner makes one of the dumbest plays of all time. seriously could cost them the game. you cant just give the ravens the ball for free at the 2 yard line.

If I'm his coach I'd be tempted to leave him on the bench for the rest of the day, screw giving him the chance to redeem himself.

Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
That was a terrible play, but I let the guy keep playing Jones is a terrific PR who just had a brain fart.

Re: Around The NFL - Divisional Round
Not as bad, but still a bad play by Jones again.

Arg, I guess my office is going to be purple clad again this week. I wonder if the secretary will continue to rock the purple camo pants. |
This game is ugly typical ravens football

I just hope Ed Reed is healthy after that land..I see he's back in, but hope he, and no one else in this game gets injured. Either of the teams need to be 100% healthy if they are to beat NE.

They aren't beating ne

#Hail to the Redskins
Ravens? really? Great Defense, and an offense that could power run over their awful defense.. Keep in mind the Redskins were a Rex Grossman pick inside the ten yard line pick from probably beating NE. |
