Why do we have to only draft Olinemen...im bout spending some ducks at this point. Drafting olineman, not really ballin in that catagory. We got Long, leribus and Moses, bring in legitimates vets on short deals and let these guys fight it out.

I think we go RB in 2nd round this year in draft. Linebacker is another spot we could be looking to draft high as well.
I agree that FA has to factor into the equation. I disagree about drafting a rb in the 2nd round.
Between FA and the draft we go real heavy on oline, and safety/cb. I like Breeland and Amerson alot but we need depth. We also need Some good passrushers in the front 7.

Oh and I will just say I hope QB is not an area of need come January, but who knows.

im a big believer in turning and burning RBs. draft them late, coach em up, run em hard for a few years, rinse-wash-repeat.

i think solid vet interior O linemen can be found in FA. ray brown, randy thomas, rabach, chester (he gave us some good years), lichensteiger.

hopefully Lauvau will be that guy as well.

seems like in FA, teams may like a vet guard but they have young guys coming up and it saves some coin ... guard and center is a position you can find and fill very nicely if you are willing to spend 3-4 mil on a 3-4 yr deal for a 30 plus year old.

What kills me is that the Raiders even had a few pick them to win . . .

Everyone just loves to hate the Redskins, and slurp the Cowboys.
If it were me, I would start Griffin as soon as possible. The only way to know if he's a "bust" really, is to put him out there

From what I'd heard it's not that he doesn't grasp the offense. It's that he's slow-odd to say when applying to RG3-but his timing is just off with the rest of the offense. He's just not in sync.

Mentioned this over the summer, but my feeling is he's a sensitive kid who's ego and feelings got badly bruised when he felt mistreated by his favorite coach growing up.

He needs a confidence boosting game, and I think he'll get his groove back. What better slump buster game than Tampa after the bye week?
Brilliant stuff, someone forward onto Gruden!

I like how Gruden keeps the Vikings guessing about who'll start at QB, but they probably expect Colt.

Also be interesting to see how Zimmer and Gruden face off. My opinion Zimmer was a far better coordinator than Gruden but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be the better head coach
You say Step One is to build an O-Line and then you say draft a safety in round 1? Mr. Spock and I think that's illogical. If OL is your top priority, then you draft OL in Round 1 unless there is a very special player on the board when you draft who you just can't pass up (like Sean Taylor).

Nevertheless, I do agree with you that a top-notch OL is the foundation for a good football team. Dynasties are created by having Franchise QB's playing behind great OL's.
A first tier safety will be gone by the 2nd round. A first tier RT is much more likely to be available. Especially if we are picking around 12-16. Just because you focus on an area doesn't mean that you completely ignore reality of picks. Of course this early and far away from the draft, and not knowing our final draft position, you also have to realize draft statements now are more guideline thoughts then specific must do's.

If Moses develops, we don't need to be drafting a RT high.

I say spend high picks on a guard or center and otherwise feed the defense. How 'bout using a high pick on a badass nose tackle, since Cofield is getting older? Or use a high pick on a corner and move Hall to FS? Or use a high pick on a safety?

I'd be okay spending a high draft pick on a NT or FS. If we decide to trade down or get a mid/low first round pick (drinking the Kool Aid a bit here), we can try to get a good guard. I'd also like for us to get a solid veteran in the o-line.

You spend the high picks on the best player there. No way is this team good enough to be drafting for need. If that player is a RT then so be it. That gives us depth at that position.

I think we need to play the lineman we drafted. Let them get better through game experience. Spencer Long need to be eased in. Chester out!

i like much of what we are doing, just need to establish the run earlier and stronger.

in the offseason, get a good safety, please!

My preference would be McRib at Chester spot

Either one in my opinion... Just not Chester anymore.
