Not a fan of custom avs or sigs. Junks up the board.

Let me clarify, I wasn't talking about the mods but all of us little people. Too many people who want to come in and use gawd awful pics that they think are AWESOME, or some gif that slows the whole board down. Matty has always tried to keep a level of class on this board, not every fan gets that. |

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Since when have mullets not been classy? To me that's the epitome of class.
Also I'm definitely glad Matty doesn't allow custom sigs/avi's on the boards here. Not only does it make a huge difference when viewing the boards on my slow-as-hell work computer, but imo there's nothing worse than someone posting a minimal post such as saying "this" in agreement with someone else (like I do), and then having their oversized picture signature take up half the screen. |

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Tonight my new gear grinding was people who over pronounce Spanish words at a Mexican restaurant. I really don't have any issue with people who actually know what they're talking about, but this woman was like, "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrracias!" with a lot of tongue rolling.

Damn their cookie hawkin' souls to Hell! Every year it's the same thing. You must dig deep each and every time they put there collective "arm" on you...Please Mister, it's for the Girl Scouts and my fate is sealed or be branded a leprous child hater or is it Hatter? Enough of the Big Sad Eye's at the exit of my favorite grocery store. I will have to resort to doing my grocery shopping at my local Quicky Mart until the season closes. The FDA. WTF?!?!??!
Coke changing their formula to abide by stupid FDA rule: When the state of California added the compound 4-methylimidazole, also known as 4-MI or 4-MEI, to its list of known carcinogens in 2011, it created a problem for the soda industry. The caramel color they used to give colas that distinctive, brown hue contained levels of 4-MI that would have warranted a cancer warning label on every can sold in the state. And this wasn't the industry's only challenge. The Center for Science in the Public Interest petitioned the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to ban ammonia-sulfite caramel color. It's a request the CSPI repeated this week after finding 4-MI in samples of Coke and Pepsi. And: FDA spokesman Douglas Karas wrote in a statement that the FDA is currently reviewing the CSPI petition, but "it is important to understand that a consumer would have to consume well over a thousand cans of soda a day to reach the doses administered in the studies that have shown links to cancer in rodents." So why ban it? Gears ground. |

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
People who leave time on the microwave clock. I think it's pretty inconsiderate. I always think, "No, actually, I don't need to heat my meal for 13 seconds, but thanks for making me push an extra button."
For some reason, everyone at my new office seems to do this. On a microwave, where the only way to accomplish it, is to actually open the door without pushing any buttons. Ugh |

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
How about leaving the work microwave a freaking disaster of a mess. I can't stand people that refuse to clean up after themselves.
|
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
I constantly clean up the kitchen. I'm the only man there full-time, so it's the women who are being complete slobs. I'm never going to eat at one of their houses if they're this messy at work.
As any married man knows, it's the women who are the real slobs of society. Men gets accused by women all of the time, but when you move in with a woman (or work with them), you discovered that bathrooms and kitchens are like nuclear disaster areas when a woman leaves it. Plus, there is hair EVERYWHERE! Women leave more urine AND BLOOD on toilet seats than any men do. I'm always finding that kind of mess and I know I'm not doing it. Hair spray on the mirrors, feminine products and wrappers on the floor, toilet paper on the floor...yeah, men are the slobs...SURE! These same women I work with also like to walk around the office barefoot. Disgusting. |

You wanna see nasty I'll take a picture of the microwave at my job. I'mma see if I can take a picture and upload it at home. It's disgusting and I don't want to use it but I really don't have any other options. |
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
How about people that call you up and leave a message with 3 different phone numbers? You can call me on my cell, my work #, or my home #. Uh uh, leave me the best # to reach you at. I'm not writing down 3 different numbers and then calling you at all of them. Please.
|
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
You want to see a nasty microwave you should see a friend of mine. He is a really nice guy but he is kind of messy and his wife is lazy as hell. Their microwave and kitchen is so nasty I will not eat anything from their house. Their whole house is pretty nasty but I just avoid his wife and going in their home.

I always offer free lunch to anyone who will scrap the sides of my work microwave and eat. I figure if that do it they will be puking for so long that they won't want the free lunch. |

This. And I think we've talked about it before, but overall, I just can't get down with voicemails period. It drives me nuts to come into my office where I have a message when it's just as easy to email me, where it comes to my laptop, desktop and phone. I only leave a voicemail when it's a known issue with that specific person and returning emails. |

people walking around the office not doing shit on friday and letting everyone know they're not doing shit becuase it friday. these same people actually walk around every day not doing shit

Yup, and those same people will always be the first to complain about how much work they have to do. It's like no shit, you spend half your day trolling around the office, what do you expect? |
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Just a general overall question, but how do people feel about smoke breaks?
I know a few people here that easily take 1-2 hours a day smoking. If I wanted to play a video game for that amount of time, I bet I'd be scoffed at. |

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Some smokers in my office are totally out of control. Generally though I think management does a good job of policing it, but the problem is some of the biggest offenders are managers.

So interesting. I mean, I'm of the opinion that if you wanna' do it, it's your funeral provided you don't infringe upon non-smokers. I just think that smokers are given a free pass at work (at least here). Matty, definitely noticed that at my last job. I mean what do you say considering it's something that's widely accepted in the workplace? |
